Idk if anyone noticed, I could be wrong but after watching the entire drama ~spoilers~ Lin Mo was already ranked number 4 on Crimaster when Tang Ren left for the US for what we know to be Detective Chinatown 2 so when they were gathering the top ranked detectives, he must have already ranked somewhere in the top 10 yet he was never mentioned in the movie. It's a small thing and probably doesn't matter but I just observed it.
Movie is make up 3 stories(12ep; 4each) by 4 directors. The first Story is the best and the director is very good. Feels like a movie with plenty of action,comedy and show case lin mo supernatural ability. I hope there is continuation of stories with this version of Lin Mo. Will think viewership will be very high. The second story(ep 5 to 8) directed by another 2 directors is still okay but very messy jumping here and there. Too much Talking like an average drama. My parents fall asleep a few times . But the 8th episode (last episode of drama) is super good.. same feel as the first story The last story(ep 9 to 12)is really the most disappointing , really super bad ... the tv is playing and no body is watching... till the last epsiode which is still okay(still bad...)
I could be wrong but my understanding from the context is that they are Thai policemen of chinese ancestry assigned to a different department that deals with crimes in the Chinese community in Thailand, hence the casual civilian clothes. Kinda like a vice squad, but only for the Chinatown area.
