My friend is also making a rewrite of Security Breach and told me she wasn’t adding anything from the books unless it was a VERY TINY interesting detail. Also, two things. One, the book actually says that Sun and Moon were performance bots for the theater, not the main stage. And Moon’s “evil” side was just an act for their shows, not a way to kill kids in broad daylight. Two, while the book doesn’t say this next thing, it’s been hinted in the game and speculated by people in the fandom that after an incident with Moon, the Daycare was closed and the generators were put in the play structures as a fail safe for the employees to use during an unscheduled power outage.

Not canon, but the lore within them can be used to explain basically alot of things in the fnaf lore through certain events, aswell as prove some of the fnaf community's theories. The books also show what is possible in the FNaF lore. That's right, FazGoo and Body Stealing Freddy toys could theoretically become possible in the normal FNaF Games Canon.
If it's any consolation, none of the FNAF books are supposed to be canon to the games, instead taking place in their own alternate timeline(s). At least, that was the official stance on them when they were first coming out. I don't know if its changed since then, but from what I've heard, I'm pretty sure that it's still the case with this new series. Meaning that unless Ruin or a future game confirms otherwise, book!Sun and Moon are just an alternate timeline version of the characters from the game

The fazbear theatre fell out of popularity and they had to close it down, and needed a daycare attendant for the daycare, and fazbear ENT bring the lazy shits they are, they didn’t want to make a new animatronic for that, so they just flung Sun and Moon into the position of daycare attendant and called it a day, no reprogramming or nothin’. Maybe In the old “show” at the theatre, Moon was evil because he wanted to put everyone to sleep (possibly permanently but shhh) and that’s why he had the sleepytime candy ad’s, and Sun would fight Moon’s sleeping plan, therefore giving him the energizing candy ads. This is probably completely incorrect but I feel like atleast the “show” doesn’t refer to the glamrock’s show itself, and more to a “show”, like a play.
