I'm a retired U.S. military person. I was stationed in Okinawa for 6 years, and went to the mainland many times. VERY expensive! But, ther was so many things I thought were very clever and smartly done there. I now, live, full-time, in the Philippines, so I know about BOTH cultures!
most Filipino food is intended to be eaten with rice, that is why the dishes on their own are seasoned strongly. The rice balance or softens the strong flavors. Tip: if the dish is too salty/sour/sweet/spicy, just add more rice on your spoon to water down the strong flavor.
We love the Japanese people as well because they are so disciplined, friendly, and devoted to their beliefs. Filipino and Japanese traits, when combined together, seem to be a perfect match. I remember Fumiya of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), we just loved him so much because he got befriended with a Filipino housemate in the most cheerful, loveable, and natural way. Two cultures that found each other, becoming one, and touched the hearts of many Filipinos. Thanks for a wonderful video reaction.
Maybe it's the words that Mana used in describing her countrymen. Maybe what she really meant was Japanese people are more reserve than Filipinos when she said "Japanese people are shy and don't care about other people". Mana loves Jollibee so much, she's so sweet, I like her.
Yui is so funny😂 She must’ve been thinking the video was giving Japanese negative feedbacks so they shouldn’t go to the Philippines that she was hesitant to watch it haha Love you guys! Make more videos, God bless!🙏
Hi. First time I’ve seen your video, I was crying and laughed, seeing the two of you reminds me of my son and his wife, I felt like am watching them, they are newly weds with my little grandson living here in Japan. Keep up the good work guys, God blessings be with you always.😊😊😊
I love you both already! How come I did not come across your channel earlier. Yui is so nice, cheerful, and lovely 💜 This channel deserves more views and subscribes.
You guys are so natural and exude happiness ...it's contagious! That sure made me press that Subscribe button without hesitation. I look forward to happily watching more reactions from you both. Take care and stay well!
Philippines and Japan are friends even the time back that the Philippines was colonised by the Japanese before but still no angry in our hearts..Japanese are very welcome to the Philippines
I'm a Filipino and I'm scared from the beginning but at the end I salute the lady giving feedback about Philippines....thank you and God bless everyone
I'm with Yui on the chicken preference. Chicken inasal is life! It's grilled, which means the excess fat melts off. It makes me feel like I'm heating healthier food. There are foil packs (retort packs for the Japanese) with inasal marinade. It's a relatively good way of enjoying your inasal at home. On a different note, Mana (the woman in the video) has a genuinely positive attitude. She is so kind, joyful and respectful of the Filipinos in her videos. That's the main reason why she's treated so well in the country. She makes an effort to remember to say "THE Philippines" (the name of the country) instead of just "Philippines". She may slip up a bit, but that's perfectly fine. The effort is much appreciated!
Your vlog is so addicting, totemo inspiring, very fun to watch and such a cute couple. Watching you guys really removes my stress, thank you Ali and Yui! please continue to make this kind of videos and always stay safe.
Mana be like "manahaloooo" Yui be like "tooodeeeyy" Most of Japanese and Korean love Mang Inasal chicken Who's next :) hope they can collaborate someday when they visit the Philippines after the pandemic is gone hearing both "manaaahalooo" and "tooodddeeeyyy" in both vlog :)
Your video is entertaining! Japanese are always welcome, it doesn’t matter if you are shy or friendly, just enjoy the paradise islands, the beach and connect with nature!!!! Hello from Arizona!!!
We celebrate Christmas starting BER months ( Sept,Oct,Dec) until late January, you can still hear Christmas songs and see decorations. Come February we’ll slowly move on leaving the Christmas vibe to prepare Valentine’s Day celebration, you’ll see a lot of Valentine’s decorations too coz it’s quite a big deal in the Philippines.
If Yui is not normal Japanese, I'm not a normal Filipino. I can relate to Mana's explanation of what Japanese people are like: I'm shy and I don't like greeting people. Not all Filipinos are cheerful. Case in point, me.
I think the main reason why people prefer other countries than theirs is that their used to the way of living. Living in a new country relieves you from the system you were pressured in from your last. This mostly applies to people who really love to travel because the thought of adjusting to a new lifestyle satisfies their adventurous personality. I personally want to go to Japan and I am currently learning the language. I am sure that a lot of filipinos want to leave the philippines for many right reasons. Salaries that are below the minimum wage are normal and you can barely get by. Finishing college doesn't guarantee you a job, let alone not having a degree. Mangoes are cheap? maybe for foreigners. PHP has higher value than JPY but then Japan pays their employees better. I don't hate my country, I love my country. The PH is a beautiful country that I always flex to my friends from abroad. So if I were to advise foreigners, just visit the Philippines, take a vacation, visit the thousands of tourist spots and islands and enjoy, but never try to work here because the pay is so small, and the cost of living is so high.
When you're earning minimum wage, it would seem the cost of living is high, because you're barely able to make ends meet. But for middle-income earners (P50k-100k/month) like me, I find the cost of living quite reasonable. I also don't live beyond my means.
Well,we Filipinos are indeed cheerful tho it's a major setback for foreigners when they go back to their country we often leave others an impression of something that's missing from them even their home they still miss the familiar feeling that we give that's why we Filipinos can give almost anyone the feeling of a close family ties 😀
Mana can speak English fluently. In one of your vlogs "8 days in the Philippines" she said she can't speak in English. She speaks Japanese language throughout the video. How fast you've learned? That's incredible.
We went to Japan (Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka) in winter 2019 before the pandemic hit. I agree with Mana about Japanese people being serious. When we're on the train, I'll notice people are so quiet and minding their own business, even with a group or with families. Reading books, checking their phones, or taking a nap. And people are always in a hurry. When you're in the escalator (in Tokyo), you have to stay in your left side if you're just standing and waiting, so people who are in a hurry they can take the fast route on the right side. But in Osaka it's the opposite, you have to stay on the right side if you're standing and waiting, same thing here in the US. But what I like about Japan, trains are always on time, and people are so well disciplined.
But people in osaka are very friendly and open compared to tokyo, you can get along with osaka people more easily, sometimes suddenly you will be visited by osaka people who will help you

Ang galing ni Yui magbasa ng tagalog. My friend in Japan told me when summer in Japan it's so hot. Yes, food in Japan is expensive, we experience that when we were in Tokyo. Ali, the way i see in the face of Yui, she's very in-love with you. ❤️
oh was it good reading Tagalog?? But I need to try practicing Tagalog more💦 ahahaha yeah exactly it’s super crazy hot here in Japan in summer season! lol Eh~my face? like this?🥺lol Btw, Thank you so much for your warm comment ☺️
It’s normal to like things you are never used to liking before OR love the places you’ve ever been, in my case, i love Japan, been there twice on different occasions, love their food and scenic spots, and its people as well, i love to visit or have a vacation there, but when asked where i’d like to stay, i’d still choose to live to where i was born - that is, The PH.
I don't think Japanese people are naturally shy, they are just careful when approached by foreigners, because there could be something bad with us, but when we become friends we can see Japanese people also talk a lot. In osaka I think the people are more open than tokyo, they sometimes come to you to help you if you get lost on the way.

Even though Filipinos and Japanese are Orientals, the two Cultures are different in Someways, the History between two Countries goes way back. Japanese already immigrated to the Philippines in the 1600's the history of Japan and the Philippines goes way back for centuries.
There's a Korean girl with a RUclips channel in the Philippines. Jessica Lee, and she eats a lot and never gets fat. She's fluent in Korean, English, and semi fluent in tagalog.
@3:21 Yeah the vlogger made it LOOK (title) like something could be bad but getting what she meant that going to the Philippines ......the result is the BEST IN A POSITIVE WAY.

I’m Filipino, a 49 year-old single mom of 2 boys, age 22 and 16. I’m a huge foodie. It’s hard for me to gain weight. I weigh around 38-41 kg when I was in my late 30s to early 40s. Now, I gained a few kgs, 44-46kg. I binge at midnight. I’m carbo loading.
I really enjoy watching your videos.. Maybe someday you both also visit in my place in Iloilo Province and Boracay Islands in Philippines best in summer.. 🤩💖
I already subscribe and like the video but i cant find exact words, just happy seeing both of you and my favorite Mana who likes jollibee and inasal, Stay Happy and hope to see more vlog
Japanese food is so healthy. So, your regular eating habits aren’t too careful. So, when you go to other countries and maintain your eating habits but NOT with Japanese food, then you’ll blow up. For example, if you’re used to having tea in the afternoons with some senbei or having drinks with some edamame, you don’t really care and eat as much as you want. But if you do the same with isaw or sisig, well….that’s trouble. 😂
We Filipinos experience 40 degree heat even in the winter season. So it's not that crazy to be honest but it's still cool to have you know much more about our culture and customs. Both of you are great reactors. And btw im a new subscriber so keep up the great work. Much love here from the Philippines.

But mana most likely is mang inasal

I’m Filipino, a 49 year-old single mom of 2 boys, age 22 and 16. I’m a huge foodie. It’s hard for me to gain weight. I weigh around 38-41 kg when I was in my late 30s to early 40s. Now, I gained a few kgs, 44-46kg. I binge at midnight. I’m carbo loading.
