I really love your enthusiasm Chris! Your positive approach and attitude really does stoke the fire of creation! I'll definitely be adding this mic to my little home studio, I always dig a work around, and one mic to emulate all mics is the kicker for me! With that said, I read an article once where Bono talked about always using a Shure Beta 58 when he does his vocals, he said if it was good enough for his stage show, it was good enough for the record... I have been doing this same approach now with my Beta 58 for a pair of decades and I'm only now hearing that Bono and I sound like we are singing through a live mic instead of a studio mic, so I've been interested in an upgrade, and I'm sold on your pitch, thanks for sharing your expertise and helping all of us get to our best production! Here's to winning my first Juno Award someday soon! Rock On, Johnny John!
H Chris I’m looking at purchasing one of these it makes sense as I need a vocal and sax mic so this might save me a few bucks! A friend gave me their Aston mic but it’s not cutting it for me so this will be my next step. Thanks for the advice!
Hey Chris, I have a Lauten Audio LA320 that I cut most of my vocals on, its been my favorite so far! I also have a Rode Nt1000 and Shure Sm7b that I typically use for doubles and what not! I track with a little tube pre that I'm familiar with, but I've been wanting to try some others.
The genre's I work in process the vocals so much it doesn't really matter for me. If the vocal is exposed then I totally agree - find the best mic for that particular vocalist.
I bought a used Antelope Edge Solo last year for about $300CAD, reached out to Antelope and sent them my receipt and they gave me a free license for their software. It's been fantastic, definitely recommend it!
Hey Chris. I appreciate your mic choice advice. I’ll look into it. I currently have a Blue, an old CAD (big barrel one) a LA-220 Lauten Audio a very cool mic called an Origin (it’s grey, looks vintage) and a few sm57/sm58. I use plugins like CLA for voice, Manley Vox, Neve, too many. I have hundreds of plugins. Compressors also in the box. I often RUclips vocal chain ideas. Depending on the song. This cheap new XVox is fun. Tons of presets that are pretty amazing.
Well thats an awesome video id love to try one for real !! where can they be sourced .. I'm using 3 - . 1) Audio technica 4033a which I find solid but quite bassy. 2)A -Rhode NT 2 which was a cheaper mic to buy to try but the response is a little slow somehow ... 3) A Normal SM58 which is a complete surprise when attempting Eq and a Vocal plug CLA vocals in from waves it cleans up nice and is smooth and well useful for backing vocals ...
Ridiculous. First I hear about mixing headphones with software, now this? 😂 someday they’ll make a holographic microphone. Hell, someday they’ll make a holographic studio equipped with holographic graphic instruments. Then they’ll make holographic people with AI for brains lol what a wonderful world indeed lol no doubt you’re getting paid to do this ad. The boy next door is the perfect conman

I have the Universal Audio Sphere LX. Same kind of thing. It emulates a grip of classic mics. I can just flick through them until one pops out.

Took me a minute to figure out name/model in order to research - maybe include a link to make it a tad easier?

I'm running an AKG c2000b and want to swap it for a Rode NT-1
