- I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte.

At our cottage they break open the fresh water clams and eat the insides.

Solar powered (only) doorbell thats screwed in 2 feet off the ground by the sliding door.
Our Momma and her quads come really early for supper too. We think it is a protection plan for the toddlers. Plus Momma fills them up and puts them to bed early so she can have some quiet time 🖤🦝🦝🦝🦝🖤
I think you are right. In the old days, didn’t the kids eat first, then get put to bed so the grownups can eat an adult meal? Plus, the babies are safer when they don’t have to compete with adult raccoons. Like the other night when Jim went inside and the adults turned on the babies - and that one brave fellow stood up to them!
Momma reaches out with one paw and snags a piece without even looking. Like a lady eating popcorn! Lol
I thought she was blind and was looking towards the sound of his voice and feeling for the food. I guess that she could just be doing like I do at the movies while eating popcorn. I didn't think about that.

I was thinking that same thing yesterday. If humans were snaking with their mouths open it would make me crazy, but when it's baby raccoons I find it absolutely adorable.

Phrases I have adopted from Jim: “Move your Bum.” “Bed Lunch”. (Sounds much less out of control than the USA version, “Midnight snack” which makes me feel a tad guilty,. But “bed lunch” doesn’t. And, my favorite, “I put the run to them!” That phrase is totally boss! Thank you, Jim!

It's been really fun- and interesting- to watch the babies learning how to feed from the adults! The first time they tried to eat grapes was hilarious. And they were too "short" to reach the water, at first. I really thought one of them was gonna fall in, head first! 😂

I feed ferel cats in my neighborhood, people get cute kittens then dump them out into Las Vegas extremely hot weather, where they suffer so badly!!! I put out fans in the summer and heated beds during cold winters. I also feed the many types of beautiful birds that YES Las Vegas has!!! Wish I lived in the beauty you live in!!!!

My wife and I are currently in the process of rescuing a 1 month old coon. Poor little guy was so weak he couldn't walk. He's happy and climbing shoulders now. We love your videos!

We have a momma & her 4 babies that have just recently started to come by & visit us too!! I spend hours just watching them play & climb our trees & cuddle up! They are so sweet!
