I’m so proud of myself after watching your videos I finally decided to go through everything I’m about to buy at the Goodwill and check the sellthrough rate. Makes a huge difference on my decision. Thanks a lot
Just wanted to thank you for your videos and the information you share. Your last few lines in this video really hit me hard. I have started to let go of the idea that these are valuable things. They don't mean anything until they sell. And every day, I am trying to release myself from the prison of caring about these things. I am making more sales because of this new thought process and I'm grateful. Truly appreciate you and your viewpoint.
Thank you for the behind the scenes. I'm going thru my store and looking for items to mark down. I have a permanent coupon running until the end of the year and I'm always amazed when people buy something without using it since it pops up during the buying process. I haven't tried a huge markdown for old inventory like you are doing, but I should just to clear it out and make some if not a little profit. Just doing it part time though.
This was super helpful. I just opened a store after a year of selling on my personal account. I marked down my older items hoping to bring in some traffic. Thank You Thank You Thank You!
Can't wait to see your next what sold video to see what gets shipped out the door! BTW you are always giving us such great brands to look out for I wanted to return the favor. Magnolia Pearl is a great Womens brand. Sell through is incredible. Looked it up when you get a minute. You may find it being you live in California. It's very unassuming. Also Dressed to kill is a good one. Again thanks for another great video.
Hi Just found your channel and I subscribed. I love the concept of this video. I have a hard time holding on to stuff but I think I am going to give this a try! Thanks for the video.
Well correct me if im wrong but your supposed to wait x min before ALL items have been flagged for discount @ 75% off. Dont expect to go back into an event without waiting for all the 75% items to take effect otherwise, yes you wont see them listed when you click on 50% off. After about 1hr go in and do your 50% now you can see the 75% discounted items OR click on DONT SHOW DISCOUNTED ITEMS to remove the discounts. Then you can select your 50% off. No need for a notepad.
Thx for this. I use Autoposher which resists my items every 30 days so difficult to id oldest items on site. Any suggestions? Can we sort by SKU number maybe?
God you're crushing it, enjoy the content. Been watching for a couple weeks now. Keep it up Don't let people get to you. They're hiding behind a computer or cell phone.

Great content, look forward to your videos... quick question! What size boxes are you using on your shelves for inventory? I've been using plastic bins, but they are way to heavy and meh... now back pain. I need to size down and love your setup! Thanks :)
Yumbo quick question, do you use promoted listings? If so, do you use the suggested rate or a higher percentage? Also, would you suggest 100% promoted listings on everything? Thanks!
@@bigyumbo thanks! This would be a good video as far as strategies for promotions go. I’m sure a lot of newbie resellers have these types of questions. appreciate your help.
Yumbo how many items would you say you sourced from the bins versus regular thrift on a monthly basis? Regular thrift in my area is getting pretty expensive.
Hi..since I watched this i am marking down prices about 75% but one by one on my phone. I still should take offers right if the goal is to get the items out of my store? And do you promote the marked down items too? Some things I've had a year. Thanks for all the information!
Yeah the goal when I do it is to get rid of it, get some cash flow to go buy better items, and to get multi-quantity orders. I accept offers in the stuff, and most the time they’re reasonable. Some lady just offered me 6 dollars on a 7 dollar shirt. If she would have offered 3, I would have taken that too. I believe it increases traffic to your non discounted items as well. Sales are just a percentage of your traffic. Increase the traffic, increase the sales.
@@bigyumbo thanks! Been getting sales in the $5-7 range on old inventory. No lie, it hurt a little at first but I remembered what you said about it's just stuff. I'll get more stuff this week. 😄
If your serious about reselling then yeah. Which one you pick depends on how much you will be listing and your store size. You have to calculate out which store will be cheapest for you. I use the 75 dollar per month one. Each one gives you a certain amount of listings per month. You also gotta remember that each of your items gets automatically relisted every 30 days and eBay charges you ten cents (I think it’s ten cents or maybe even 25 cents). I’ve always had a store so I don’t remember. Those relisted items count towards your monthly listings and you get charged extra if you go over……. That was a terrible explanation. Just do some research.
Question why don’t you just use the filter on the top to make it easier for you when doing your date base? Example on top you can sort the date like see only items that have been 100 days so it eliminates the newer stuff?
Message me on Instagram: @bigyumbo. Tell me your store name and me why you want me to review it. I have a lot of stores to get through. Might be a while.
Even with 75% off, do you still get people making offers on that huge markdown price? I tried a big sale like this too and got ridiculous offers on top of my sale And was so annoyed by it haha! My cost of goods is higher than yours is generally though, so maybe that’s my problem.
What affects the impressions on Ebay. I see you have over 9mill. impressions with 1600 active listings. I have 1100 listings and 930.000 impressions??? Pretty depressing... as my sales are currently...one good day followed by 3 very bad days.
@@bigyumbo does that mean you were reselling before COVID? I started after and can't imagine what everything shut down and not being able to list would do to my store.
10:41 So someone can use your 20% off coupon on your 75% off sale? That would be 95% off or 30 cents for your $5.99 items. Also, I am surprised you have to discount so many items a month as you seem to pretty religiously check the sell-through rate or know it in your head. Can you tell I'm upset? 🤣
I was waiting for this comment. It’s not 95% off after the coupon, it’s 80% off. Let’s say you have a 100 dollar item and it sells for 75% off. Now it’s 25 dollars, right? An additional 20% off coupon brings it down to 20 dollars. The item was originally priced at 100 dollars and now it’s 20 dollars, so we have an 80% discount.
@Jon Watral If I listed an item for 5.99, it’s because it was a bad item. I want all of the items gone. The point isn’t to profit off of the 75% off orders. They’re loss leaders. They drive traffic to your store people buy multiple items. You get rid of the junk. Your conversion rate increase and eBay ranks you higher. Those items already went through a 10% sale, a 15% sale, a 30% sale, a 50% sale. It’s trash. Get rid of it. Every multibillion dollar retailer has a clearance section. But resellers are so delusional, they think they’re above it.

Still haven’t gotten around to making that poshmark actually. I just wear all the vero stuff.
We are finally going to try this. Are you still pretty much doing it the same way now?? And do you keep them promoted during the sale period?
Yeah. I do everything pretty much the same.
About how long does it take you to do the 30 a day? From pictures to listing to put away
That part takes 3-3.5 hours.
How does the buyer view only the reduced items
I tried?? U r my idol. 😅

I don’t know. Maybe they sort low to high.

If you discount 75% or 50% do you offer free shipping on your items? If you offer free shipping how do you recoup your loss

Hey what's the name of your ebay store?
Would you do a brand cheat sheet? Like what top sell? Womans bottom to look for? Maybe something you would even sell?
Probably not. Give a man to fish…. Teach a man to fish…… and all that.

Do you do offers to watchers? If so and it's a new item you just listed, do you offer right away or wait to see if someone buys it for full price?
25 percent off doesn’t matter when it was listed.

Nice crocs friend
Do you accept every best offer sent when it is first sent?
No. I counter sometimes. I just never decline. I also respond as quick as possible.
