I feel like you have been through so much lately and it’s so sad to see you down. It says a lot about your character to have the initial thought that he was lost and that you felt bad for him. I feel like a lot of people would jump to the worst and not really care about the guy. I’m excited for you and Max and it looks like only good things are to come for you.

Gretchen I loved how raw this vlog was! I believe letting people see you in vulnerable and emotional times is a sign of strength. I hear you about how sad it is to leave Boston...it's literally my favorite place in the world, I never want to come back to NY either. NY is happy to have you back for a couple months though, and we have exciting happy adventures coming!
Definitely you’re safety is more important than a car. I think you’re instinct to get out of the car was correct. What if he had a weapon and told you to drive?!?! He could have hurt you!

One time I was in a dark parking lot and three drunk men stumble down the sidewalk and one approach each side of my car and tried to open the doors and say gross things and it was the scariest thing that’s probably ever happened to me. My doors were locked but my windows were cracked because it was summer... they were putting their hands inside my car trying to touch me and everything. Please don’t beat yourself up Gretchen.. there are just weird and bad people out there ☹️ Stay safe!! Love you!!

Yes, most of the food at Starbucks (breakfast sandwiches/pastries) do come in frozen or cold, then heated to order. But they also have fresh salads & wraps as well !
Hey girl, thank you for being so vulnerable and sharing that story! When I was 16 the same thing happened to me at a mall, and luckily it was some random teenager just messing around... but it’s still really scary!! I can’t imagine your situation, don’t beat yourself up about your reaction because you never know how you’ll react in a situation like that! I did the same thing and was upset about it because he could have been a threat or something. I’m so glad Max was there! Be safe 😊❤️

I’ve had someone walk into my boyfriends apartment when we were in his bedroom & he didn’t lock the front door & this guy made food & fell asleep on his couch. (He had a roommate so we thought it was them)Very scary stuff but yes remember to lock your doooors!!!
So glad you're okay!!! I agree with Max about getting pepper spray if you're in a situation where maybe you're walking and have nothing else to protect you, but I also recommend a personal alarm! Way easier to use when you feel frozen because you just push a button and someone will hear (they're loud as HECK) and come help you and you don't have to worry about like hurting someone with pepper spray especially if they are just confused or not trying to harm you. Hope this helped! ❤️

That has happened to me before! Some girl got in my car saying she needed help - thankfully there was a cop near by (looking for her, she was a runaway) and helped me get her help. It was the SCARIEST thing and I understand you not feeling like you handled it correctly but when you are in that moment it is hard to know what to do! Glad you are okay
one time when me and my roommate were sitting in the car outside a store while our guy friends went inside, a man just came up and started tapping on the window and wouldn’t stop and I was so scared so I didn’t want to look and I just looked away and hoped he’d leave and then our friends came out and the guy left... I think he was homeless or intoxicated or something but it was really scary, I understand. So glad you’re ok!
Always put your safety before making someone else feel bad. I remember years ago my Mom telling me one of her coworkers felt bad for a woman who was walking on up this hill and trying to get a ride, so she pulled over and let her in her car. In turns out it was a man in women's clothes. She kept calm and the then and the next stop sign she got out of the car and got the attention of other people to help her. So sorry this happened to you sweetie. Be gentle with yourself and take care. Love and hugs being sent your way!!!
Gretchen, I think you should be easy on yourself with all of your emotions about moving and especially the stranger incident!! No one is fully prepared in a situation like that so unexpected. And being emotional during packing/moving is so common and you should feel out those feelings. 💓 I hope all of that made sense. You’re such a light to so many people and can make anyone’s day!
Gretchen please don’t be ashamed of being in shock during that scary event! During trauma, the body either goes into flight fight or freeze - your body froze and that’s a totally normal response. Your brain can’t think critically when you are that terrified so when you cool down you think about all the things you would have done. We’re glad you’re safe 🤍

Glad you are okay! Please always lock your doors when you are in your car even if you have other people with you. That happened to me once and after that I always had my doors locked. Glad Max was there to take help you. Hugs!❤️🌻
The exact same thing happened to me at the gas station the other day!!! It happened so quick I didn’t have time to process the fact that I should lock the door. I was just trying not to be rude. So scary!!! Glad you are okay.

Scary things have happened while I’ve been walking and people have used the guise of asking for directions, so it’s always best to just keep car doors locked and your windows mostly up.

I've had some weird experiences with people in cities too. It's totally normal to be shaken up though, and what you did isn't bad at all. In all honesty he was probably tripping on drugs or possibly drunk which is why he was unresponsive and kept pulling on others people's doors. So glad you're okay though!!
When I was studying abroad in London my phone with all my identification on the back of got stolen, I was absolutely devastated because my privacy was being attacked. I totally understand how you feel! Just another lesson learned to be safe at all times because you don’t know everyone’s intentions. If I was you, I would have ran away too lol. You are right - the breakfast sammies at Starbs come to the store frozen!
I work at Starbucks! All sandwiches are sent to us every night and are never frozen in our stores! They're obviously pre-packaged but not frozen (all our other pastries are frozen). I would say although many taste good, they're not good for you. There's a new Impossible Breakfast Sandwich that's super delicious though I recommend!

Ahh glad you're ok!! Some random drunk girl walked into my apartment at 1am once.. I also didn't lock my door but I was still awake. She didn't even know who's apartment unit she was visiting she was so intoxicated. Thankfully she left after we said we didn't know her 🙈 but still scary.. lock your doors everyone!

I was once in the airport flying home from school alone for the first time and a man came up to me and told me he was gonna take me home! I don’t think I’ve ever been that scared in my life! At first I froze and then I started screaming without even realizing it. You never know what you’re gonna do in an unexpected situation! Thank god you’re alright! And hopefully that other car is too!

The same thing happened to me and my friend. We were at a stop sign and a man tried to get in the back seat. Now I lock my doors all the time. Growing up my mom would always lock the door whenever people were walking by and I always thought she was being dramatic. Little did I know

Gretchen a few years ago some lady came into my dads car when he was waiting to go into work in Cambridge !! So crazy the lady just kept asking him to drive her/buy her stuff and he just like kicked her out ahah so scary
That car experience is very scary! It sounds like he may have had some mental health issues. It seems like the experience was a lesson to remember the little things in this sometimes scary world. I know it’s hard, but you shouldn’t beat yourself up for forgetting to lock your door. It’s not your fault that guy had some problems! Just remember for next time and stay safe! ❤️
Getting out of your car was the right thing to do! No item, even a car, is worth your safety. The same thing happened to me when I was 9 months pregnant. I panicked and got out of the car. Thankfully, the guy made a mistake and got out. It's very scary!

Oh my...this is kind of what happened to my co-worker and I tonight. I get off of work at 4am in Las Vegas (2 hours ago) at a casino on the strip, a guy started yelling at us, asking for money stating he parked at Treasure Island and he needed gas money. We tried to ignore him but he kept yelling louder and louder. He even said he was apart of a gang. Millions of things went through my head. We got into my coworkers car, as she hit lock, the guy tried to open the door. I just remember yelling drive, drive, get out of here. Called security 3 times, it took them 20 minutes to get out there. I was in shock until about 40 minutes ago. I just can't help think what if he would of gotten in the car or had a gun 😔 My sister just had a baby, that I have not seen and if something happened to me, I would of never met him and that makes me cry the most. 😭😭😭 I am glad you are okay though. 🙏💙
