Great chat. Could you magnetise the fish to the fishing line for your otter? Also those small amounts of yarn leftover after your Battenburg could be made into a magic not ball, then used in a scrappy project?
We have something else in common. I was 28 and my mom 51 when she passed away. And my dad’s sister and I are very close since. She says I am her favorite child over her three biological children. We craft together. She is an avid sewist and I am not, but we both crochet, both learned from her mother, my grandmother. We text each other every day. She lives a 4 hour drive away, but I see her 4 or 5 times a year.
Lovely to see you this morning, just returned from a few days in Cornwall. A lovely time but not a glimpse of sun - wind and rain courtesy of Storm Kathleen! I did manage to get quite a bit of crafting done, thanks to the rain…. It can stop now though, if only it would! What a beautiful hand - so pleasing when everything works out. Take care
I suppose there’s always a plus side to rain 🌧️ lol lol more crafting time. It’s been just the same here, none stop rain and everything is floating again. I’m so over winter, roll on summer days knitting in the garden. Lol lol
Always sad when close relatives move away but I can see Welsh holidays in your future 🤣 Sad when you have to leave a house you love , which we’ve had to do a few times when moving for work! You are a naughty girl getting three advents but hey- life’s too short so go for it xx
On my, when you said about throwing away the little bits of yarn, my heart skipped a beat. On No! Never! I'm one of those people that keeps ever scrap of yarn. Eventually I end of using it for something. Never ever throw yarn away. Haha
I'm fine now. When I saw what you were doing with the bits, it fixed me right up, @@craftycleggscreations You give me such joy watching you. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Lovely to catch up with you, Jeanette. It’s funny, but I seem to have had a long knitting phase and not doing much crochet - but I guess we always just go with the flow of whatever takes our fancy! I’m just back from another campervan trip and we managed to coincide with Storm Kathleen on the south west coast of Scotland!!! Oh my, I have never experienced such high winds before. Needless to say, I had plenty to keep me busy while we stayed cosy in the van! A big well done for your beautiful crocheted hand for Beatrix Potter!!! xx
I’m even shocked at myself Helen the amount of knitting I’m doing including 2 pairs of socks (I know) I can here you say really 2 pairs. Lol lol Fortunately storm Kathleen wasn’t to bad here in the north but having said that it hasn’t stopped raining for what seem like months. I’m ready for summer that’s for sure. I hope you enjoyed your trip in the van and that storm Kathleen didn’t disrupt your plans to much. Xxxx

So I would just take my time!. You and Tim & little Zak have a fantastic weekend together!. Mandy xxx😊
I have the pattern for the emotional support chicken too (wonder how many patterns have been sold), my daughter bought it for me in lieu of an Easter egg (well, I still got an egg). All I have to do now is find some suitable yarn 😉I don't crochet so I'm looking forward to seeing your crocheted chicken. Please will you send some of your rain to S,Australia? the earth is just like dust. Some part of Australia however are having dreadful flooding - this is such a massive country. Hi! I just loved the description of your mom’s knitting and yours when you were younger ☺️. Such special memories that can make you smile. Thanks for sharing!
Well done with Beatrix potter fingers you've made them really really well, she will be lovely when she's finished I can't wait to see her. Take care Sian from Wrexham 😊
Loving your chicken, wow. Your socks are beautiful, you do such a wonderful job. I wish I could knit. You have a wonderful day, I think you should get rid of the garden and pave the area, I found that as I get older I don't want to take care of gardens and flowers. I'm getting slower on everything.
The sweaters are beautiful and I can see the numbers. Your knitted emotional chicken is cute, I love the colors. Your little square blanket will be beautiful. The blue star bag in interesting.
Our garden Jeanette has been an issue since the day we moved here. I’m grinding mr c down. Lol lol I don’t think it’s going to be long before he gives in. Lol
Well Jeanette that was pure Victoria Wood! You had me in fits of laughter then in tears about yer Auntie Pat (hope she like lots of rain cos that's all we've had here since last November!), all your makes are fab and I love that you swap from project to project so easily, variety is the spice of life 😂❤
Your advent sweaters are gorgeous, and those furry bags and the ticking and cork really nice. I just added that cute teddy to my ravelry collection. Your daughter will love those mits will really keep her hands cozy. Have a lovely restful crafty weekend, love and hugs xx
Jeanette I absolutely adore your little advent jumpers and I can see the numbers clearly. I'm so looking forward to seeing the entire collection as and when you do them 😊 Also with the otter, could you maybe crochet both the fish and then attach them to his fishing rod so they are with him? Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing him finished too. I love everything you create.
For your garden, what about lifting the turf and putting a few easy to grow shrubs in? If you think about areas in shopping area car parks/council owned areas, that’s what they do ‘cos it’s the easiest to look after. A path or a few stepping stones, perhaps a bench on some slabs to sit and enjoy it? Bark chips to keep it all looking neat and tidy, could look lovely 😁
Great idea. Unfortunately our garden is so wet in the winter it’s practically impossible to grow anything. I’ve tried so many times to make it nice, I honestly think paving is the only way.
Morning Jeanette! Oh my gosh I just love catching up with you. You always crack me up, the story of your mom knitting had me in hysterics. I so enjoy seeing all your projects and was thrilled to see that Beatrix Potter had 5 fingers! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🥰 Have a fantastic weekend! Hugs ~ Kay
I think Beatrix was thrilled to. Lol my mum was so fast at crafting, she would knit all the children’s school weathers/ cardigans. If they lost one on Friday there’d be a new one finished for Monday. I do miss her terribly. Xx

Hello Jeanette, I know exactly how you feel about selling the house. We sold up last year and I can't drive by the old house. We lived there for 42 years and have moved to the country. I really love where we are living away from the hustle and bustle of suburbia but it was my home where I brought up my four daughters. I also visited my daughter in the UK for six weeks and have been back in Australia for a couple of weeks and I miss her so much. I didn't realise how much time I am missing out on seeing her and my grandsons, it is taking me a little while to get motivated again. I need your emotional chicken right now. My son and his family live in Japan, I've met my granddaughter only once and she's just turned eight - I couldn't travel to see them because my daughter has been very ill for a long time. Hello Jeanette - thanks for a super podcast - I was very excited to see your Wood Pigeon socks especially! I’ve found a place here in Australia that stocks WYS and I ordered some and it’s on its way - we can be matchy matchy😊 I understand that it must be hard for you with your precious auntie moving but try and look on the bright side - an hour and a half is such a short distance! When we were driving around the UK we could hardly believe how close places were. As we live in Tasmania, the little island state of Australia we need to either fly to the mainland or drive 3 hours to the ferry at Devonport, sleep overnight on what can be a very rough stretch of water and then set off. A few years ago 2 of our children were living in Sydney - 9 hours straight (without stopping) from Melbourne to Sydney along the Hume Highway - which goes through quite unexciting countryside - usually quite dry and 40 degrees last time we did it!! It’s probably not always that bad and all of Australia is beautiful but I’m trying to cheer you up😉 hugs from Elizabeth xx
You definitely have made me feel. Enter Elizabeth, it makes my hour and half journey to visit my auntie a walk in the park. Lol I’m so pleased you’ve managed to grab yourself a ball of the WYS yarn 🧶 you’ll really enjoy working with it, I’m sure. Xxxx
