Welkin is the only thing you need. Everything else can be easily farmed. The first purchase in anything is a gateway for you to spend more, so please be cautious. I've only ever bought battle pass twice and have never touched any top ups before.
Welkin is good becasue if you dont spend your crystals you may be able to purchase an outfit now and then
Well, you can't farm serpent spine or black sword tho. I too only buy BP twice to get weapons then don't bother buying it again

@@faizalyusha4725 The BP weapons are not realy good. On R1 they are often worse than F2P crafted R5 weapons.
So you need to buy 5BPs to make them stronger.
Now they are worse than R1 5star weapons.
But even F2Ps can get 5star weapons. Save 38400 primogems and you get one 5star weapon guaranteed :D.
Play long enough and every BP weapon gets benched.
And they have the P2W smell on them.
Worse weapons in the game.
@@sofieberger8851 yeah but like... 38400 primos is going to take you several months of grind and BP costs like 10$ which you can get for like 1-2 of even badly paying job or part-time job, so maybe it is better to find more work opportunities and then you can just buy the stuff in the game and still have left...?
Do not forget. With the BP you can wait until the last day of the season to buy it. See if you get to max level first, then buy.

@@ravebae how can you even not reach 50 unless ur playing like once a week....and at that point if you don't play so much to the point you don't hit lvl50 when just doing events and a few weeklies basically get u it guarenteed then do you really need the value of the bp that much anyway since the resources you get from it aren't really being fully utilized cuz its just going into a game you don't play much?

In my opinion, both the welkin and battle pass are good value overall. It’s the genesis crystals that are generally not worth it because they’re so overpriced.
That's 800% value out there. Totally worth it.
Genesis are for people who lost pity and don't want to wait another year for another banner.

Overprice is actually what makes PPL buy welkin so it's win win for hoyo but comparing with other games you'll feel like even welkin is quite high
Compared to a game like mobile strike or star trek fleet command, genshin is a steal.
People spend a grand on those and barely get anywhere, cause everyone else out spends them.
I was one of the best budget players on my server (battle pass only, and usually earned it on surveys, ads, coaching whales, and mistplay etc.) Winning several server to server competitions for my team, but I had support from the whales who just listened and did what was needed in the rally attacks etc.
Genshin on the other hand, asks you for $5 a month for Wilkins and $10 for battlepass. That's half of the cost on pvp games with big servers.

@@Wreckedandruinedand Yes, but most players do the Free-BP anyway. Even the F2P players reach lvl50 to get the standard wishes.
So by buying the Battle Pass you only get more rewards but not more game-time.
(overall less game time, because of the rewards)
For the price of one BP you can get 2 Welkin moon, that's 5,400 primogems.
BP’s power is far better though; hundreds of books and weapon gains saves tons of time and resin.

I buy both but for me BP is a life saver because i always run out of books and money… I am not even a new player but I am always leveling up crazy stuff.

Buying the BP is like not wanting to play the game at all.

@@syarifairlangga4608 yes, but they are also pretty lazy. We have too few character sizes, and they all have the same running animations. I'd expect that in year 1 but not year 3 of the game, especially because they've made historically large amounts of money

if you spend a good bit of time on the game, and you have the money while just needing a bit of primos. get the welkin, it's very much worth it. won't get you every character but it should allow you to get the one's you do want. plus after some time, you'll have enough crystals for a skin. If you have even more money but need some resources, get the BP. I have been getting both for about 6 months now and I'm very happy with it. But i don't buy top up or wish on the weapon banner (much at least got super lucky and got TP in 20 wishes, YMMV)
I use only welkin (+5 BP for weapons) and never touched crystals. I have every character in game (minus Nilou), so it is possible. But I never wished on weapon banner at all in 2 years.

Welkins is good. It's easy to log in everyday specially if you have the game installed in your phone as well.
On weekdays, I just log in for 10-20 mins max to do commission and spend resin. You get 90 primos + 60 primos from commission. I think it's worth the money.

I would go for Battle Pass (BP) only if I was interested in a BP weapon otherwise I would prefer Welkin. BP is a good option if you are a new player and can max it out.
Intersting. In CN, one of the main draw for the $20 battle pass is that it include a monthly pass of Genshin Cloud Gaming. It's really useful for people with weak phones or just need to play the game on some random computer. However, since this service is not availible outside of China, it really does not make sense for the $20 battle pass.
This is in RM, which is the Malaysian currency. So, its still just $5 ins USD. Just that the price differs for every nation.
Thanks for the fragile resin advice bro. I used 30 of my fragile resin in artefact domain and i didn't get a single artefact above 25cv. So now im just gonna farm lvl up and talent materials
That's why i never undestood why some people are so against leveling characters to 90. When you are at a point where a week of resing might not even get you any benifit whatsoever, that 2%-ish damage (with a fair bit of survivability) is actually pretty good price to value.

It's never ganna happen. There's a reason why the more you spend, the less you get back in return. I have played .uch more for this game than any aingle player tripple A game but that's still nowhere near the money a whale puts in every patch.

Battle Pass is even better than Welkin. You save so much resin you would otherwise spend for resources like EXP books or Mora. Plus the 4* weapon you get is also really good, everyone of the weapons is useful. Welkin of the Moon is also a great deal to get some extra gems for cheap. If you seriously play Genshin, 15 bucks per month is a great deal to secure you great deal of progression! Buying genesis crystals though is WAY too expensive for what you get!
depends how far along your account is. paid BP is almost useless for veterans besides the pulls and fragiles IMO. maybe its a bit harder if you pull for and max out literally every character. I've been consistently at 30+mil mora and 2.5k - 3k exp books and have been welkin only since 2.6 (played since 1.0 though).
Not really. Welkin > BP any time, since primos are only thing we cannot have enough. But I do agree to buy a few BP for 1 copy of each weapon, since after 2 years they are still really strong.
Btw the higher AR you are and longer you play the resources become less and less of a problem. As AR60 my exp converts to mora and from all events, crafting ores, doing free BP, etc. I do not run out of exp books, ores, or mora easily.
Plus since we will not gonna get any proper end game to use our min/max heroes - there is no point to rush to build them.

If I have enough EXP and talent materials, I can start focusing on bosses, artifacts, and Spiral Abyss. I only bought welkin for primogems but I can see the value in BP
Thanks for the video just started and my friends told me to spend all fragile on Diluc artifacts since it was my only 5star character, now I need fragile for character specific materials. Good to know understand how to invest the money, I consider that BPass 10 USD$ version is good only in my actual situatio where I don't have materials for crafted weapons yet and need something strong enough to farm the bosses.

Both are worth but it depends on dedication.
The only thing I wish MiHoYo would give us more of is fragile resin. Timegating progress sucks and it feels super timegated, even if you give them the 15 bucks.
I have both, and honestly BP helps me save time from farming for exp books, mora, etc. A life saver really if you have school, and you do not have to waste your resin on farming for those items and can instead focus on artifacts and talent books
Idk... i buy bp but i like farming mora and exp much more than gabling on 10 layers of artifact rng. I recently even got into doing domains co-op even if they are much slower because artifact farming is demoralising.

l'd say that both are a great deal, the main focus of the BP is the weapon you get and l think all of them are great especially with the crit rate substat that makes them just great stat sticks but not only that the serpent spine and the black sword have one of the best pasives in the entire game and you get a ton of wishes with it, and the welkin is a great bonus that makes saving for a character you want much easier, l'd say that if you are a new player and you a looking to spend money the BP is and easy win, you get all you need to get a great start ann when your account gets to a point where all you really need is more characters you can get the welkin
yeah its worth, for me at least, if u wanna save time farming and saving primos in this game as a new player; for the price of , 6$ and 13$ respectively (in my country), i feel its worth it for my budget for sure to make the game less stressful, especially when u cant reach spiral abyss floor 9 yet and dont have strong weapons and chars yet since ur luck is very poor in those single wishes and running out of resources to level up ur f2p chars. after getting first battle pass rewards helped out a lot from the char exp and weapons exp mats to reduce the time for farming for them and work on talents and weapon ascension farming!

as of 2024 both the welkin and battle pass are worth it as long as ur fine paying a little for them. walking for the primos overtime and bp for the weapons , resin , Mora , and a few pulls

I've purchased the Welkin practically every month since launch. I started picking up the BP a few months after that, but only if I make it to level 50. Honestly, because I do I have a C0 of every character I want and since I don't allow myself to buy the BP unless I complete it I am motivated to play a little bit everyday (about 20 minutes). I have played a lot of Genshin since 2020 and I am perfectly willing spending a little cash to keep Hoyo cranking out new content. I should add that I was a WoW player for two and a half years a decade ago, so a "subscription" fee is something I am used to. $5 to $15 bucks US? I spent more on dinner last night and it's already passed through my system.
Man, I used to be a WoW player too, BfA was a shitshow and made me quit. Thank God, Shadowlands was promising at first but somehow even worse later. Both are grindy games in their ways and I much prefer Genshin now
ah..i made that mistake of using 15 fragile resin for artifact farming...i regret it so much...and i never did any research too for the BP but after 4 weeks of playing, i plan on researching better. Got some helpful tips here! Thanks for the video!

both are good, but if i can only choose one then bp... for long time players, there comes a point where u basically dont need new characters anymore, so books, mora, and resin (and bp weapons) are more useful than raw primos
Depends on if you want to build more characters, FtP is for building 2 teams only, Welkin is for having a few more characters but building the same amount, BP is for if you want to build every character to at least 80.
none of those help in the worst mechanic on the game: Artifacts
@@TYR1139 Was just saying what they let you do, you can build the characters with Welkin and Battle pass without having a non built character but you'll have to do artifact runs to get artifacts leveled and Teapot if you don't mind not buying any other thing in the pot.
Im hella stupid. So my dumbass at adventure lvl 19 with less then 10 exp to 20 was looking around about 30 minutes to an hour trying to figure out where is the battlepass. Feelsbadman
Spending $15 every 45 days is cheap entertainment; you’re almost guaranteed to win most the 5* characters or weapons you want.
Personally I’m more of a Welkin player. I did get the BP before but now I have enough resources and I care more about getting charas since I can clear spiral Abyss.
Welkin is an easy yes for pretty much any body, because of the amount of primos you get over the time playing. It's especially nice early on when you play pretty much every day anyway and don't do endgame primo crunching yet. It certainly amounts to quite a lot when you get 15+ extra pulls (depending on if you really log in every day), since you don't have a good team yet and have to actually pull a few dozen times.
As for the BP, there is no reason to buy it before you finished it, so you can just see how far you're going to get until the day the BP is over and then decide to buy it or not.

Until i reach ar60 I'll keep buying BP + welkin. After? Idk. Depends if i want/need the bp weapons. Prob not. For now it gives me good progression feeling and value from it. I have also spent $180 a yr one time on the first time top up bonuses pack for THAT character (must have). My 1st yr i secured raiden shogun c2 and her weapon. This yr neuvillette c1 and his weapon. Sad i didnt get c2 but i didnt save too many primos prior nor farm like i did last yr. I can now 36 star the abyss so.. the value of the yearly $180 top ups as well as BP is falling off hard. That was the main reason for me spending so i could maximize free primos. (I didn't build xiangling or bennet yet either. I havent farmed the catch yet for xiangling, but i need to. Bennet is still only c4, soon to be c5 when i buy from shop w masterless. Xiangling is only a pathetic c2, which maybe i can secure c6 come 4.2 banner... sucrose i dont even have c1. I do have r3 sac frags tho as well as sac sword with c6 xingqui. C6 fischl, diona (not built), sayu (LOVE her), and c6 layla as well w/dockhands assistant (only r1 tho). Biggest help for me imo were zhongli and layla. Love them both. I value the comfort they bring. Sayu is great for the anti shield mechanics as well.
Anyway, got off topic a bit. I think low spender has great value long as you can maximize the gain you get from it, but once you can beat all content, it just then becomes an enjoyment proposition. Dont recommend anyone to spend beyond $15 (and yearly one time $180) unless they are a streamer and can make money from it.. even then maybe not as it just diminishes the enjoyment factor and all the f2p people that would watch your stuff. I dont care about someones c6 5 star.
welkin better overall, but I usually get the genesis packs when they reset and have the full sized bonus, so for me I mostly always get bp as well for the extra materials and weapon
if bp change the weapon,it's worth it but for now ,i think only welkin that's good.
Bp is the best in the beginning because of all the resources: talent/exp books, primo etc.
After getting al the weapons you wanted it becomes less important to buy the bp because the weapons dont change.
The bp would gain more value again for a short period with the release of a new region. You need the new books after all.
After all this is done i wouldn't recommend bp anymore... unless you want r5 the weapon (which i wouldn't recommend, dupes for other characters maybe).
BTW BIGGEST TIP OF YOUR LIFE. BUY THE BP 😳AFTER 😳 YOU MAXED OUT TO BP LVL 50!!!
I never buy welkin because you have to log in every day. To me thats anoying. But if you want to go right ahead there nothing wrong with it.

Fr Welkin is SUCH a good deal but the "must log in or I lose primos" definitely contributes to burnout and I had to take a break for 2-3 patches

It is really simple. The only reason to spend any money here is if you want to decrease the grind or want a character. Characters are not necessary for completing the game. I don't spend anymore money on this game but I used to when I first started out. Mostly bought welkins here and there. Bought a BP once but the only thing I think I got out of it that was worth anything was the Serpent Spine. As for what you spend your resin on. It really does not matter so long as you use it up to make you stronger. Artifacts have the value of being useful on multiple characters because they are transferable. While the resin you spent on talents and levels are locked into the character you might never touch again. I have not used Diluc in a year but I still use the artifacts I farmed for him. Also if you have not farmed artifacts before then even very poor sub stat artifacts are still going to be extremely powerful compared to anything else you could spend resin on so when you reach AR 45 the most efficient thing to spend resin on is in fact artifacts because even an attack sands with flat hp and def is going to be stronger than anything else.
i pay more than a welkin costs to spotify each month and i rarely even listen to music, but i spend roughly 2 hours every evening on genshin so to me the cost is justified. also i get bp too now, because i want extra resources and the weapons. 15 dollars a month is a meal at a low tier fast food chain

I'm ar 39 rn and nearly getting to ar 40 and i have resin and my damage are very bad i was wondering if i should use my resins on the artifacts domain I'm not planing to build lot's of team even though i got a lot of character for now I'm useing the "traveller girl* , kaeya , xingqui , barbara and benet and fichl" i switch around these and not planning to build more characters beside these should i still not refil resins ? i was wondering if i should buy the welkin moon too just to get the extra primogem to do 2 refill with the primogem and I'm not interested into doing pulls/wish for more characters can i get an opinion ?
If you're not interested in pulling future characters, you can use primos to refill. I personally advice against resin refill for Artifact domains since the RNG is so bad that it's just not worth spending primos for them.
Since you're only AR39, you can focus on levelling your characters, weapons & their talents first over farming artifacts since the highest level of Artifact domain can only be unlocked at AR45 (guaranteed 1 5* artifact every 20 resin unlike the lower levels).
I only bought 5 bp to get all weapons and now I only buy welkins, Idk if I would go for refines in the future, but right now is not on my plans.

$5 on welkin is a max per month except for the yearly bonus reset that i pay $15. YTD spending would be nearly enough to buy a 6600XT at today's price.

No, you would still get 90 primogems from logging in every day. However, you will get another 300 Genesis Crystals after buying the Welkins and the 'Days remaining' counter would go from 30 days to 60 days.
(Every purchase of Welkins only extend the duration until the cap of 180 days aside from the extra Genesis Crystals.)

At the end of the day, we're all under the mercy of artifact RNG (Sadge).
Buy welkin if you like the game, it's like $60 dollars a year. Buy BP for like 5 times till you get each copy of BP weapon, then decide if you want to R5 some or all of them (not worth it, tho).
I can't do abyss right now so BP or welkin moon should be good right...

Soft pity starts at 73 actually and it is statistically harder to hit hard pity (90 pulls) than not getting a 5 star within soft pity range
Can you save the talent books and the bp weapon or you should use it coz it will be gone after the bp reset's? (Like i mean not opening the talent book chest and bp weapon chest and save it for later?)
The Battle Pass will be gone a day or two before the new season hits so, no, you can't save it.

The Action Taimanin battlepass paytier is $25 USD and it's total garbage compared to Genshin's. Another great thing about the Genshin Battlepass is that you don't actually have to burn any resin to get almost all the weekly tasks done.
In my opinion, Welkin have more value than BP, just because welkin can give you a single pull everyday (as long you can get 10 primos everyday) and get genesis crtyal which you can use for more pull or buy skin, while BP have more value on time and resin, but everything on there can be farn nanually (except weapon or name card)
But hey, if you can afford like $15 every month, go ahead to buy both of them, but for me i just stick on my welkin just because i can save up like 30k primos in 3 month saving

I bought a wlkin a that was my biggest regeret because If you miss a day online you don't get your 90 primogems they should give you the primos on the day you missed😭

Welkin is the only "fair" item. It's only 5$ and you can consider it as sub to support dev. Crystals is just scam for gambling addicts and BP... since hoyo said, that we will not gonna get combat end game, then no point in materials from BP (just take your time and farm them) and 8 extra wishes not gonna help you much.
The BP weapons are good for starting player tho, so if you wanna spend on Genshin I suggest:
1)Buy welkin every month - it's insane boost in pulls (playing like this from the start of the game and have every hero with a bit of luck and smart pulling)
2)If you have a bit extra money, then buy 2-5 BP to get a copy of every weapon + materials/wishes as bonus. But after this stop and do not waste your money on it anymore. Refinement of BP weapons is not worth it (it's literally 50$ for 4star weapon)

Ive bought every bp and welkin but i do think im going to stop the bp. I dont need the weapons or the mats. Also i pay half the price for welkin by abusing gamestop membership but thats another story. 2.50 well like 2.79 a month is ok for me

If u somehow still didn't get a 5 star by the next few pulls, then yes.
You'll prolly get enough gems to get your 5 star by then (assuming that you're not pulling the current banners in 3.5)

Welkin on other handgives u a ton of primo helps for ur limited character target.
Which is why I listed the questions in the video since BP isn't as worth if you're not going for the weapon or the resources. Otherwise, Welkins is always very worth the purchase.

It still depends how much of the 30 days are you able to log in. Plus, you only need to log in to claim the daily primos from Welkins so you could just get Genshin on your phone for the sake of logging in whenever you're away from your PC.
Overall, you could go for it if you don't mind missing 1 day every week.

@@Boomslayer19 It's still just up to you. 6 out of 7 days is still a lot of days, & the gems' worth completely depends on whether you really want an upcoming character. Plus, you don't have to get it now until you have a character you really want to pull in the near future.
Also, BP doesn't give that much primos.
So you say, in order to know if i need BP or Welkin, i should to do simple math and logic and buy them if i need? No way!

Why are hit retry every time
5$ for welkin for primos and 10$ for battle pass for resource. You chillin as a low spend if you are smart and lucky you can get all the characters you want.

$13 a month for 40% more pulls is a bargain. Heck, just from time value of money few wouldn’t spend $5/month just to not do dailies and get more primos.

Question is worth get and buy black sword for ayaka?
I do plan to make a guide video for which weapon people can go for but that's for the future.
For now, Black Sword should be a solid option if you play on-field DPS Ayaka with her Normal & Charged ATKs (healing also helps). The only downside is that you can overcap on Crit Rate if you are using the 4pc Blizzard Strayer.
Other than that, it's a decent weapon for her.

@@empegirl9696 Amenoma at high refinements is great for Ayaka. The ATK% sub allows her to reach 2k ATK with an ATK sands & passive helps her get her burst back consistently. I personally use an r5 Amenoma and its been great.

AR 58-60 players don’t need Battle Pass anymore. I’m AR 59 and more than half of it I don’t really need anymore.

On a more serious note, Welkin value for money cannot be beaten, So Welkin first.
But if you only have $10 and want a nice weapon fast, then BP/Gnostic is a good option.
In any other case Welkin is always the more worth option if you can't have both.

I wasn't sure whether it was 74 or 76 so I just chose one of them
But how can some RUclipsr that I watched get 5* like after 20 pity and sometimes lower than 70 pity.
@@m.ridzwan99-26 Because you have 0.6% chance per wish to pull a 5* from 0-74 pity. So in other words getting a 5* between 0-74 wishes are considerate quite lucky, because it's not guaranteed at all - however, you "luck" is increased after 74 pulls. This is why you hear people say different terms:
No/low pity: 0-74
Soft pity: 74-89
Hard pity: 90
