I've been carrying this knife for about two months as an EDC in the front horizontally. It's a little tank! Everything a more expensive knife can do, and more than many hyped up ones I believe!
It's so light, & compact! I actually was wiping it off on my pants one day, and it's so razor sharp, it sliced my good pants wide open! I thank God it wasn't my leg too! I highly recommend it!
P.s. the end piece is keyed in! It is a full tang, ya just don't see it!.....
    👍👍

That you for the review, some notes.
    1. Please carry it and use it for EVERYTHING for a month. From opening boxes to pealing potatoes to cutting your steak. How many times did it NEED to be sharpened? What did it do well? What did it do poorly? Is this a one knife solution or where does it lack?
    2. Do a try stick. The old boy scout try stick is a great way to review a knife. If it is too thick, it shows up quickly. And of course thin knives tend to show their weakness.
    3. Of course you need a little bit of corrosion testing. (I expect this knive does pretty good on this, but I have been surprised in the past.)
My experience with AUS8 has not been that good. I am surprised.

Bps knives have been slightly increasing their prices but considering theyre in a warzone the last couple years its not surprising. I think they got the best budget but solid knives most were under 50 with leather sheaths, I have been keeping a eye on these though most of my knives are over 2 and 3 hundred $ I'm always on the lookout for a budget workhorse that's a deal just because I remember the days when spending 50 on a blade felt like a fortune and in todays economy feels like those days are upon us again sadly enough

I saw this knife through the Wally World app and took a chance on it though I had not heard anything about SwissTech. So far I have been impressed with the build quality and how it feels in the hand. It's comfortable, grippy, built tight with no rattle or buzz on impact. It come with a good fitting, no rattle sheath with an adjustable belt clip and multiple lashing options. The size of the knife itself lends itself to the backup knife position, both in terms of self defense and sometime just needing to do something that might possibly damage a more expensive blade. Also its overall size would make it a good choice for edc, the blade has a good shape to it and is of a size that it would be enough to accomplish most of what you'd need it for in most instances without being too "tacticool". So far, it's been through a ton of 550 cord and a lot of strapping, both nylon and leather, with no noticeable edge wear or damage and has kept it's surprisingly sharp out of the box edge. I do wonder about the colored insert at the butt of the knife though. Looks good, but you can't tell if it is or isn't compromising the "full tang" aspect without taking it apart and you can, I think, to be able to see if it's a true full tang or how it's been put together. Maybe I'll look at that when I have to sharpen it the first time. But anyway, so far so good. Glad I took the chance on this $40 knife.

Say what you will cuz it's aus 8 Walmart knife but it's worth every penny! I've beat the brakes off this knife the blade bent over 1/2" when batoning some knotted oak and came out straight was really impressed! Their folders are on point too the carbon fiber one is one my favs out of all my knives! Go get one and see thanks for the vid 👍

I've carried mine for (4) months. Good knife for the money. I like the sheath but I had to epoxy the rotating mechanism as it would spin like a roulette wheel.

@@joshuawesteros5345 looking at the clip and the sheath I don't believe it will work. There's only enough space for one pin to fit through a hole on the sheath. Possibly if you drilled out a couple other holes you may be able to fit one on it.

Thanks guys. I reckon as long as 2-3 attachment points for the tek lok lines up with the sheath it’d be good. I’d remove the current clip. I get mine in a couple days. I’ll do some measurements and let you guys know if ya like. 👍

Those black reflective chords don't work so well in the summer when there is heavy dew on the ground , I'd use orange, something to think about, but not too important I guess, but.. I buy those shiny 1/4" tool bits to make adjustments to my telescope in the field and if I drop the bit in the grass and there is heavy dew covering the ground Im screwed because they dew lights up and everything is shiny then.

I really like the blade but... I bought this a month ago and carry it quite a bit but I have one complaint. The sheath has a clip. The clip does not stay where I place it. There is no screw I can tighten to fix this as some other products that use this type of clip do. It rotates to easily and I want it to stay in place. It has gotten more loose as I have used it so now it sits in a drawer and I'm using a different companies knife now. I really love the blade itself though. Please fix the sheath and I will by a few more.

I received mine yesterday and used it a lot. I’m thoroughly impressed with this knife. The main thing that bugs me and plagues most American knives is uneven grind. Kabar and Ontario almost always have horribly lopsided grind. My stahlern is perfectly symmetrical. The knife is more than tough, good for carving and other cutting tasks. I even like the cold steelesque sheath but if you don’t a spec ops brand mini combat master works perfectly too. Handle feels great in my medium hand, I can see why larger hand guys wouldn’t like it though. I think this knife is a winner 👍

  • @southern.pride0

Swiss tech is not owned by walmart but it is exclusive to walmart. Ozark trail IS owned by walmart.
I personally think increasing the amount of belly the knife has and making the handle more shock absorbent will take this knife and give it the value of a 100 dollar knife.

Handle heavy is actually better for a survival knife than a center-balanced knife.
Why? It keeps it in your hand, and when you are cold, wet, and weary you're less prone to fumbling with it. A lot less prone.

if i had to use an axe everytime i had to baton my arms would fall off and i would be 90 years old... axes are situational, knives are always carried, batoning with a knife (depending on how heavy of wood) is way more common that running around with an axe 24/7
