    ...I'm actually a bit surprised how far down the list Ohio was. But its legendary coaster collection is dominated by just two large parks.

    I think someday Florida will pass the other ones, because if SeaWorld continues to build one coaster a year, Universal opens their new park and Disney someday tries to make a new park because Universal got one, the FunSpots build an RMC like ArieForceOne and Merlin possibly even tries to get them involved, they will make it someday. And you have to consider that California's Great America will close in the next few years, an maybe don't relocate all of their Coasters to Discovery Kingdom. And who knows, maybe SixFair wants to build a Park in Orlando just to annoy Disney and co. 😂😂!
    Btw loved the two videos! Lets hope that some of AirtimeThrills viewers check your content out too (like I did) and sub (like I did).

    Here in California we do have many quality rides from the general publics viewpoint. However, coaster enthusiasts may disagree otherwise. That's the reason why the west coast parks gets little attention in the national coaster community.

  • @winningfreak1
    @winningfreak1 10 месяцев назад +2

    I think Florida eventually takes #1, Great America closing,
    Seaworld has been on a tear adding coasters, Disney could always consider adding a new park, universal has been adding coasters there as well. It would not surprise me to see Cedar Flags in the next 15 years look to build a property in the region either.
    And as much as I hate to say it and the whole idea, Magic Moutain might be in trouble again. Six Flags has come close in the past to shutting the park down. Development around it is going crazy right now and the high land value, combined with the massive amount of coasters + reduced competition to Knotts (which has a better location).
    Magic Mountain has so many coasters if they relocated 12 of them to other parks they would be 12 new experiences they can use to draw people to those parks.
    I hope this doesn’t happen, but under this new company I can see it. We all know what happened to the last two major parks to try and challenge Cedar Point (Kings Island which got bought by them, and Geauga Lake, which Dick Kinzal murdered with smile on his face while harvesting its rides).

    Since Canobie is my home park, the state in which I've done the most coaster-riding is easily my next-door neighbor, New Hampshire. But I've only ridden half of the coasters there (used to be slightly more than half, but they tore out the Canobie Corkscrew). I need to remedy the lack of alpine coasters in my experience by trying some of those out, since I live within a reasonable drive of several of them.
    I feel blessed to have the mighty one-two punch of Six Flags New England in my own state, but it's a bit further away than Canobie so I don't go there as often. I love Mass MoCA but have not finagled my way to obtaining its bizarre cred.
    I've had a dream for a while of just doing a coaster tour of Pennsylvania. (Really, separate Western PA and Eastern PA/NJ tours might make more geographic sense.)

    Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but to my knowledge, Michigan actually has 15 coasters and not 14. There's Michigan's Adventure with 7, then the 2 Craig's Cruiser's, Arzo Sports & Fun Park, and Airway Fun Center each with 1 a piece, which makes 11. Then there's Cedar Valley's Wild Frontier Fun Park and C. J. Barrymores both with 2, which makes 15.
    Also Massachusetts has 16. 11 at Six Flags New England, plus 2 operating at Edaville, then add on 2 alpine coasters and the 1 at Mass Moca and that adds up to 16 if I'm correct.

    This was a great collaboration! As far as catching California, I don’t see any state ever catching up with the Golden State unless they lose some major parks. Florida and Texas will keep adding them, but a lot of Texas coasters are small Kiddy coasters and Florida seems to be more focused on quality over quantity with their world class theme parks. It will be interesting to see if Pennsylvania will keep up with Texas in Florida also.

    • @MattMcIrvin
      @MattMcIrvin 10 месяцев назад +4

      California *will* lose California's Great America in the near future, so that's several right there unless they move some to Discovery Kingdom (which is now conceivable).

    The Ultra Surf that SFOG is getting next year is very exciting. I’ve heard about how people are unofficially calling the ride “Aquaphobia” due to the fact that the name may have gotten some recognition. How long does it take to edit a project like this? You must have locked the script before we knew about the CF / SF merger.
    I hope the combined company will downsize only by selling parks to new operators. I'm afraid that some coasters will be scrapped due to corporate synergies.

      I doubt that will happen very soon because of California's giant advantage but it's more likely to happen in a few decades with CGA closing. And if Houston ever actually gets a new park that would help.
      I am still just astonished that no one has bothered to try and build another park in that area. I don't count the coastal parks. It's not like AstroLand died because it's impossible for that giant metro to sustain a major park
