Just bought a 2012 from the original owner "NOV2023" with 109,000 miles. So far I have replaced the steering coupler (clicking from the steering column) , the 12v battery (was giving a check brake message when trying to start) and a deep clean. It has 4 open recalls that I plan to have looked at. One of those is the connecting rod bearing. Hoping its ok and lasts as long as yours.
Have a bearing clearance test done on the engine by hyundai to see if your engine is part of the recall of metal shavings clogging the oil passages causing rod knock, you have until 150k and 15 years to have that done. This car fell into the recall but either had oil changed very frequently or was one of the lucky 20% that wasnt affected by the recall.
They can be good cars, it depends really on the mfg process. That one was made really well, it now has 230k on it and still runs great. My 2017 sonata hybrid that i just bought has been thru 3 motors and 2 transmissions.
I purchased a 2015 limited back in June at 135kmi. Make sure you to research maintenance history because just because it drives good doesn't mean anything.
I don't blame hardworking folks who dare NOT touch any Kia or Hyundai vehicle. With the massive bill they shouldered from the engine failure/engine fire fiasco plus other major safety recalls, guess who will foot the bill eventually?
Well.. my psycho mother forced my dad to get a new car asap and stop driving her second car, so he had no choice but this 2013 sonata hybrid back in 2021 with 159k miles on it, luckily for my dad, it well outlasted what it was worth.

Thank you for this I’m thinking about getting a 2015 sonata hybrid this definitely helped with my decision

I’m thinking about buying one no issues but 151k miles for 6000 do you think that’s worth it first car btw?
Did this qualify for uber comfort?
Have you got hybrid charging system warning?
Love my hyundai and ur picture guns n roses is dope 🤘
Has your dad ever replaced the serpentine belt? I have the same car and the engine makes a chirping noise when I drive.
We changed it at 220k miles because it snapped
How often did you change the transmission fluid?
Not sure. He only did it once from 159k to 248k.
Was that the first ever trans fluid change? @@warn3535
