Vegeta gets bean is probably the most badass song in the whole series. It made that scene sooooooo much better. I've watched that scene with the original score and it lacks without that song.
The Faulconer team soundtrack is *objectively* the best out of all the Z soundtracks, the only problem is that we have to wait until episode 68 to finally hear it. If only we had it from the very first episode. They creatively used a versatile range of soundtracks whereas Kai and Japanese soundtracks were limited to boring one-dimensional 1960s marching band music the majority of the time. A style that doesn’t at all fit an action-packed anime full of explosive fighting sequences. And the Faulconer team wasn’t just loud music (but when it was, it usually fit the tone). Kai and Japanese *never* properly captured the intensity, emotion, or shock of scenes like the Faulconer team did with music such as “Cell Kills Man” -Imperfect Cell absorbing the civilian in front of of Piccolo -Imperfect Cell rising out of the water after Piccolo’s light grenade -Perfect Cell’s first full appearance after his transformation “Frieza Begs” -Frieza begging Goku for mercy “Cell’s mighty breakdown” -Cell vomiting 18 after Gohan’s kick “Perfect Cell theme” -Practically all of Perfect Cell’s fights are defined by this track “Android 16 theme” -“Yet another fighter… you could have saved.” “Super Namek theme” -Piccolo fusing with Kami “I am the Namek who has long since forgotten his name.” -Piccolo powering up against Cell -“Allow me to introduce myself!” “I am the Namek!” “SSJ3 theme” -“And this… is… to go… even further beyond!” -Spirit bomb on Kid Buu “Ultimate / Mystic Gohan theme / Gohan’s Anger” -facing off against Super Buu -and then facing off against Buutenks “SSJ1 theme” -Goku’s first ever SSJ1 vs Frieza -Goku powering up against Cell -Gohan facing off against Buutenks for Round 2 after their first wave of clashes “Serious suspense” -Vegeta talking to Trunks, Goten, and Piccolo before his sacrifice “Vegeta’s theme” -“Does a machine like yourself ever experience fear?” -Final Flash! on Cell (which nicely transitioned from a previous soundtrack in that scene) “Vegeta’s SSJ theme” -World Tournament speech -blowing himself up against Buu Many of those soundtracks heavily defined the scenes they’re associated with and made them iconic.
Not to mention the iconic episode ending theme, which they would occasionally mix in with transitions from other tracks. A good example of this is when Goku blew up Cell, and the eerie ambience we hear (when panning to Cell’s half-destroyed body) transitioned to the ending theme. When Buu arrived at the lookout and they transitioned from Buu’s theme to the ending music, that was one of several displays of creativity on the Faulconer team’s part. You never get that in Japanese or Kai, they *never* had clever musical transitions. The Faulconer team would also change up music in accordance with which character appeared to have control of a fight (Vegeta vs Cell for example). Japanese and Kai *never* paid attention to detail like that. It’s telling that one of if not the most iconic soundtracks in Japanese Z (Battle Point Unlimited - Trunks’ theme when he killed Frieza) isn’t even a Japanese track. Yamamoto plagiarized it off of a German band “Propaganda” and their song “Murder of Love”. He plagiarized off of other American and European sources, too, implicitly admitting that the actual Japanese Z tracks are inferior to their Westernized counterparts. In fact Japanese Z oftentimes goes long stretches where they don’t even *have* a soundtrack, due to laziness and lack of creativity (and plagiarism on Yamamoto’s part further corroborates laziness and lack of creativity). I often see sub fans cope with this by claiming long stretches of silence “makes it more suspenseful” but they’d surely be the first ones to criticize the English dub for laziness or lack of creativity if it had long stretches with no soundtrack. And if you want to see actual suspense, for example, check the eerie ambience the Faulconer team used during Imperfect Cell’s first appearance and prior to his absorption of the civilian in front of Piccolo. Or the track that played as we were waiting for the dust cloud to settle and see what effect Final Flash had on Cell. Or right after Goku blew up Cell and it panned to the latter’s half-destroyed body. Deep down, even the sub fans know the Faulconer team soundtrack is objectively the best by far. They just have to downplay it because they feel obligated to hate anything that’s Americanized and “taints” the original Japanese in their view. They can’t comprehend the possibility that there are many areas in the original that can be improved upon. The fact that sub fans actually enjoyed Yamamoto’s plagiarized tracks off of Western sources (such as Battle Point Unlimited) fully convinces me that they would also love the Faulconer soundtrack if the original Japanese were the first ones to use it. Too bad their irrational hatred for English dub clouds their judgment.
@@dubisbetterthansub5254 While I don't agree that the American dub (script or voice acting) are better than other dubs or Japanese totally. I must say that I agree almost completely with the subject of the music of Faulconer Productions. I really hate the ignorance and lack of opinion of people who hate the American soundtrack without even having heard it, I find people say: "It's pure generic rock" or even worse "It's pure metal". I wonder if: "Episodic Trunks", "New Earth Music" or "Serious Suspense" are pure generic metal. Obviously the tracks composed for the mutiple battles or characters' themes (they use guitar, bass and those synthesizers to make them sound epic, erratic, violent and exciting). But if that's something bad or "repetitive"... why don't they complain that the entire Kikuchi soundtrack was made up of pure trumpet, trombone, violin and orchestral hits? In that case, is it okay? Besides that Z is based on pure action, fights, blows, fast movements, pure violence. I don't think that a 60's opera music accompanies the emotion with what you see on the screen like Faulconer does. (Just look at the Goku vs Cell battle, that fast version of Piccolo vs 17 is perfect for their fast and violent battle). Really, I never thought about the fact that everyone loves Battle Point Unlimited and even goes so far as to say that it is the best of Japanese music... but its origin is not Japanese at all. What they love so much is that 80s western rock. Not the music from a Bruce Lee movie. How ironic! I must say that Yamamoto, despite the plagiarism and everything, composed a varied soundtrack and that despite not being written for the scene (as if the faulconer score did for good and bad), he did think about the placement of these throughout of the entire series, there was only one placement that was terrible and that was Goku's SSJ1 transformation, but in every other track it is well locate and adds musical value to the scenes frequently (like The Braveheart Triumphant Return in his Goku SSJ1 monologue) But Kikuchi and Sunitomo (pre-Multiversal Tournament arc) seem so bland and generic to me. In conclusion, Faulconer is so badly judged because of those weebs that do not accept something that is changed from its original Japanese format and yet they don't even bother to check something before judging it, they must surely hate the song "I wanna be the very best" or the American soundtrack of Sonic CD. All this is told by a Latin American who saw original DB, DBKAI and Super in Japanese but saw several random episodes of Z in different languages (especially important scenes). I must say that what Mike, Scott, Julius and Bruce himself did something that will be a niche that unbiased people will know how to enjoy and appreciate it.
