Lest we hear only from a vocal minority: I actually love watching viewer games. They're teams you have synergy with, and it's fun to pick up on their mannerisms over time. Plus, you can coordinate silly stuff with them, and they never get toxic! I don't see the downsides.
I also actually really like the viewer games! Especially when they use the chat to react
This game is for buddies, so play with buddies. I don't care about the other players. Although, we are reaching the end so it's going to be a moot point.
I like the viewer games as well, biggest reason...they actually form a team. How many viewer games have we seen that didn't have a healer/tank? How many randoms have we seen that didn't? Just makes the matches so much better for such a simple thing.
I might be one of those viewer games detractors he was referring to. For a fairly long stretch, he was just doing viewer games and they were all a curb stomp in his favor. Many ended before 20. So that's why I made a critical comment at the time.
But since then, I've seen some very close viewer games and many really one-sided randoms, so I'd say go for it.

I love viewer games, Pally! It's always fun seeing MattyP pop up as Stitches, you know it's gonna be a good time. Plus some of the most intense & fun matches are when they pit your party against another coordinated team. Honestly, whatever makes it easier and more fun for you will always result in a video I enjoy watching ♥

When you warned for the rant I was expecting something worse and maybe even toxic but what you said were nothing but truth and solid takes on the state of the game. I really hope the game comes back sometime but it's not looking all too promising.

I'm 70-12-1 now following your builds. This is how I typically like to play Xul so it was a fairly straightforward match but a nice one to have after the high APM needed to be competent as whitemane. I hope you got a good build for Yrel because I am hot garbage with her.
I like the viewer games fine, i don't think you should torture yourself to avoid them personally.
personally I prefer viewer games for these videos. if I'm watching a video about a hero I like to see how they play in a somewhat sane comp.

I mainly play healers or tanks for years of HOTS. Due to recent toxicity, I've already stopped playing. I've had enough from the players who trash talk their own team, and Blizzard doesn't seem to want to do anything about it, so... In the meantime, I still enjoy your videos that showcase the basic abilities of heroes. It keeps my mind fresh. And it's nice to see someone like you still trying to stay positive in the community.
Viewer games or not, I love your heroes videos. The Samuro one actually got me playing again after a few weeks of no-hots.

Late to the party but my two cents: LOVE viewer games. I love seeing MattyP + RebelBoy and the rest in there. They’re like the supporting cast of your channel. I get a little sad when I don’t see them in the starting lineup

I know that you want to try and adhere your content to the love of as many viewers as you can. However, pleasing everyone is just not possible. I can also promise you that when you are doing content that you enjoy, by and large, we enjoy it more. This video was great, as are pretty much the rest of them. Viewer game or not, I am happy but don't be shy of ether one :)
Hopefully someone at blizz is listening and finds a way to revive this game.... Imagine actual skins from all over Microsoft's IPs now and cross over events.

Hey Pally, I don’t comment often but I love the viewer games. Everyone seems to have a great time and we get to see more informative games because usually they know what they’re doing with the characters. Plus it seems to be wayyyyy less draining on you, and a happier Pally is much more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work my dude.
Tbh I completely agree with your choice to do viewer games for most of your HotS VoDs. There's no satisfying everybody, and I'd rather see you playing with friendly people over the dang QM goblins
It would be great if poison Nova would release 360° damage within melee range as well as projectiles out as it currently does
make the content for this game as you want Pally. Literally screw the comment section that complains you not making it exactly how they want it each time or gives you crap for w/e reason. when a game in a tough spot can effect your mental health, do what you gotta do man. As someone that has stopped playing HotS multiple times because of toxic people of the viewer games are what make you have the most fun then the real fans of you will be happier watching that. I always favored Xul's skelly build, all the time I went auto-attack there was some sort of stun or cc that fucked me up.
I think my only issue with viewer games is that you do them on a day and time I can’t be there to be one myself XD

Also, I prefer pub games, but only marginally (just because it feels like viewer games are often stomps), and I understand pubs are much more of a crapshoot. So even though I prefer them I never begrudge you doing viewer games; for me, any Pally video is better than no Pally video!
Adding in my two cents on viewer games: if it makes your production easier and helps you enjoy the game more, go for it. I'd rather have more videos than for video production to take significantly longer and be needlessly more stressful on you, Pally. Even if it means matches feel a little more curated/not a "true" QM experience.
That said, would you consider leaning more into it and try Ranked with viewers? I understand that would potentially be harder to arrange, given that you probably have much higher MMR than most viewers and it's a bigger commitment, but if you're working with a more coordinated team than true randos that isn't going to turn toxic at the first sign of difficulty, then it seems more viable than solo-queuing.

I do not like the videos where you lose but it is still fun to watch them. I don't care if it's a team setup or not fun to watch them. I do very much like team setups because it can show how players can coordinate to achieve the win. Also Pally, you have by far the best commentary from anyone I've seen play games. I look forward to each video mostly for the commentary. Please more MattyP coop!

Viewer games are fine by me. Whatever makes your life less stressful. It is nice when the games get to level 20 though.

I know you've got a ton of playthroughs going as it is, but I want to put another game on your radar--if it wasn't already. Just recently, Solasta: Crown of the Magister got a DLC and multiplayer update. No idea how good the game itself is, though.

Those who complain about Viewer games are welcome to their opinion, but I think they are fine. Besides that YOUR mental is extremely important, and I think avoiding the method that makes you suffer through having to deal with solo Q toxicity is the best choice.
In the end while it is very good to make sure your viewers are happy, don't do so at the cost of your own mental Pally. Viewers come and go, it the fact of media life, but your mental health is something you have to contend with all the time.

I pretty much exclusively watch this channel for HoTs. So, I take my videos as they come, if they're viewer games, perfect... if its QM ques, perfect. I come here for HoTs but also for your personality. And on the rare occasion sometimes... we get the off Artanis Saltshaker games where you get very funny but also pretty damn stressed out. I don't want every HoTs video to have a Salt Shaker on the thumbnail. I don't. So I will watch... as long as its HoTs... any version you play. Chat/comments are just toxic because they don't know what they want and but they do want to complain incessantly about it. Ignore em'. Or don't. It's your call.

I would still really enjoy playing, but every other game people would be giving up 5 minutes in.
My breaking point was when we lost because the team refused to go core and win (25min game, in our favor the whole time)

Your comments about HOTS are the very reasons I stopped playing over 2 years ago, and it was the right decision. Sure, I play a match now and then when I get the urge for some pvp, but that's it, and I hope you're able to do the same. No reason to play a game that makes you frustrated.

Honestly, I can deal with trolls and toxic people, words of random people on the internet are usually pretty shallow. Nothing ruins the next 10-20 minutes of my life more than an AFK. It doesn’t help that the AI doesn’t do anything on its own. At bare minimum they could set the AI to hold a tower by itself.
Hate to break it to you, Pally. Blizzard doesn't give a single shit for this game. They won't punish anyone. They won't make any more drastic changes. This game is not long for this world.
I only play aram in hots now due to the toxic players ruining 20 minutes and waiting for a long time to get into quick play
Have an idea: maybe don't listen to the bad comments. And keep the group of frands from the chat in games. It's a way to reward people, to play with you. It's good for you and for the audience that you have. So you win by not having to endure sh*t like afk and toxic ppl. And, people are going to complaint either way. So, make easier for yourself. What about that?
I like the viewer games. Also Pally has admittedly in the past he pays too much attention to the negative comments. They are fewer than the positives for most vids I've seen.

Yeah I agree with the afk. However as much as I hate and call people to report them, you don’t know why it happened. Honestly I think they need to improve the AI for the player controlled character when they DC or go afk. Also the trash talking is really annoying.

I recently uninstalled due to Toxicity in the community. this A-Z is a nice send off in my universe.
I'm gonna add my voice to the chorus and say that I like viewer games too. I can't believe people complain about them. In my opinion that you didn't ask for, I think that the toxicity you experience from those RUclips comments might feel less bad than the toxicity you experience in matches from randoms. So maybe you'll have a better time trying viewer games again.
