Semoga dgn vlog tentang Indonesia bkin masyarakat internasional JD tertarik dan penasaran sehingga tahun depan sampai kiamat semoga bnyk yg berlibur ke Indonesia 🇮🇩
Indonesian is surprisingly easy to pick up, here are some words you might want to know Food = Makanan Popular = Populer Most = Paling What = Apa *and just using these words you can make sentences like, "apa makanan paling popular?" = "what food most popular?" = "what is the most popular food?", you can sub makanan for other nouns like: "Minuman"(which means drink) or "Barang"(which means item). Another tip is that, Indonesian is a phonetic language, meaning all the words are spelt exactly how they sound, if you want to say something, try to pronounce it phonetically, and most people will understand what you're saying. (also google translate is very good with indo), and often times you can mash key words together to get your point across as there are few grammatical rules.
Nah its true.. when you want to buy food/drink, then you can say to the keeper/seller person, "apa makanan(food) or apa minuman(drink) favorit disini? They will tell you that staff.. one more thing, and you can ask the price too if you would.., "berapa harganya?" Note, some place it may gift diffrent price for foreign traveler&locals jst for some place randomly, hv a nice traveling here in indonesia tater😊🙏😁
I understand about your tastebud with the first taste of indonesian avocado beverage is that avocado coffee thingy. In here avocado mostly used in dessert and drinks, the common one is avocado juice
Aku sangat senang dengan anda dan pribadi anda yg sangat baik,,semoga semakin lama di indonesia ,menjelajahi ribuan pulau ratusan suku dan ratusan berbagai macam makan khas indonesia👍👍👍
So Apreciate you learn some words try to learn others, and be fluent like DALE from scotland the traveler, he tried new words everyday, and in every country
The dessert you had es campur, this is how you pronounce it. Es campur (es chumpoor).. one your vids was recommended on my yt (I don't even watch travel videos) and love the series. Your interaction with locals are funny in a good way, I felt like I needed that. Traveling is also one of my dream (not even close to be able to atm), but as an introvert everytime I imagine the conversation I need to do in a foreign country frightens me. Watching your vids give me the tiny courage I need, newborn will to chase the dream I almost give up on. I know these videos aren't made specifically for me but I appreciate you making them, I feel like if I were to work aboard I'll be able to manage now. Love you brother, you got another Indonesian sub.. take care
The girl who sold you Bali Hai Beer, when she pointed at the beer saying "Merah putih" at 10:39 , she was saying the color of the can was "Red and white," hinting that it is in fact an Indonesian beer because it's the same color as the Indonesian flag. In case you were wondering: Es Campur is pronounced 'chum poor'. Bandung is pronounced 'bun doo-ng'. Sudirman is pronounced 'soo deer mand'. Also you made a good point there at 15:26 , although Indonesia is the largest Muslim populated country, we pride ourselves for our tolerance for every religions, it's even constitutional. So no surprise there about pork being sold, because even though it's niche, there are still market for it (target audiences). Keep up the good work!
It is always funny when foreigner eats Avocado in sweet dish! That's how we do it in Indonesia. We treat avocado as fruit, but in the West I think people treat it more like vegetable, like tomato I guess.
Hey mate I live in Bandung, welcome to Bandung. Just some recommendation for your travel in Bandung if you like pork dish you should try "Lapo Siagian". if you want to try local Bandung food you should try "Peuyeum", kinda rare to find the seller but it is good. if you want a little far from the city you should come to Floating Market Lembang. have fun
As an experienced chef for over 20 years i understand the barrier of tradition that in Indonesia avocado is a common sweet foods and always as a dessert. It's contrary to the mexican or Japanese food to mixed to savory or sauces..just like chocolate that common in south American cuisine as a savory sauces
Bro, if you looking for some sort of tour guide I'd love to show you around Jakarta,, been watching you lately I guess you have a hard time speaking our language,. my advice is if you want to places where the locals speak fluent English I suggest you go visit PIK (Pantai Indah Kapuk) the beach is really nice there and them places are extraordinary.
for ordering food/dessert/drink, i think you can say "menu paling favorit di sini" (most favorite menu in here) or you can change "menu" word with food = makanan, drink = minuman
Halo tater, it's so nice to see your vlog, i enjoyed much😁..nah,anyway that "bola ubi" is a "sweet potato ball" mixed frm steam sweetpotato&some flour maybe add wth small amount of sugar/maybe not and make as a ballshape then fried it medium..turn to be bola ubi ready😋, hv a nice trip tate😁🙏
Despite the foreign price or so we called as "Bule Price", i think you look happier in this vlog while eating all the stuff.. p.s the pronounce for Es Campur are Es Champoor (Ca like Charlie, pur like Poor), basicly frozen mix-fruit Anw, Enjoy your time
bule price nya kegedean klo dipikir hampir 2x, warga bandung pesan aja klo mau kasih bule price jangan kegedean gak semuanya bakal seneng macam tate travels, yg lain bisa aja jadi kapok dan males datang lagi
Next, go to Island Komodo bro, trying beach that beautiful. Or previously explore nature on the island of Java, precisely in the region of Central Java. Have a nice day in 🇮🇩 👌
Hey just some tips, it is unusual for people in Bandung to ask food sellers you are buying from to keep the changes, no matter who you are, you gotta take the changes. They would appreciate your kindness, people who are watching will also appreciate your kindness, but in someway people would also think that you are too showing off. If you want to make him/her a day, you can buy more. You can give tips to cab drivers, delivery servicemen, or uber(gojek/grab) drivers
@@darthpapa696 yeah because it is American culture to always tipping the waiter/waitress because their salary does not enough for their needs even though the restaurant in USA sometimes charge the service, but the money does not given to the waiter/waitress.

In Indonesia avocado considered as fruits mean while in the western side it is as vegetables. #lol

You're correct, we do treat it more like a vegetable (at least here in the U.S.) but after watching this I'm curious about using it in sweeter dishes.
This is a huge question…. What camera are you using exactly? The sound quality is Great. Please and Thank You
I believe the white potato stuff in your soup was a turnip 👍
