Love it! Quick tip: We also left everything packed after it was delivered, but therefore found out too late that things were damaged. So it's a good idea to quickly open the packaging to see if everything has arrived correctly.

Same! We move on Thursday and I’ve been storing things in the garage that have been arriving over the past few months and only though to check a few very expensive things this week and they’re damaged but now too late to return 😢
After the wedding you should keep some of the lavender (if you can take it back to the UK), dry it, and then press it into the frame with the lavender print

As Portuguese I grew up watching BBC series and movies with all those lovely Downtown Abbey houses with beautiful gardens and there's this kind of romantic feeling about everything British. Victoria, it's been 2 1/2 years I came across your chanel and I just love your "joy de vivre", so contagious, and with your amazing hubbie you just make the perfect match. It is an absolute pleasure to watch your videos and see you two together-your happiness shines through everything you do whether it’s getting dressed in your finery or sitting on the floor together undoing boxes! Those prints are gorgeous! It’s just the aesthetic I love! That print of the fruits are a perfect match to China I had it was a beauty cracker glazed outer rim with the prints of fruit inside. Plates had pears and bowls had plums and mugs had apples etc - they were stunning and those prints are looking like a perfect match. Shame I don’t have them anymore! I can’t wait to see the house all finished as I love your tastes! I know you done most of the house but I would love just one video showing the before and after for each of the rooms! I do love your kitchen and downstairs loo!😍😍😍
Can I just say I love how you and Alex are decorating with a sense of joy and delight of the world around you? Very refreshing and reminds me of how hubby and I have decorated our homes through the years. Thank you for taking us along - I'm so inspired!
Love seeing the artwork you chose! I have the Audubon “Bird” book and the flamingo print as well! It’s stunning. Audubon prints are really popular it’s seems in South Louisiana. I have a few that’s I’ve rescued from antique sales and re-framed. You’re house is going to be gorgeous. So happy we get to follow along!

This makes me so excited for when I’m getting married and buying my first house. It’s still ages away yet I imagine but I love love love watching you both cause it shows that hard work pays off and what you can achieve !! 💕.
Love that Alex is also as excited as you are when you unboxed those prints, you’re both equally fun and artistic and has good taste. Plus points also for Alex for gifting you such a lovely ring. When I was 13, my family and I moved into a house and it was in terrible shape but my dad did the floor in the kitchen, we painted and really made it a beautiful place. Watching you and Alex in the house reminds me of that and makes me want to buy a house. I never wanted to buy a house before. You did that.

The flamingo print is based on the famous painting of John James Audobon who's bird collections are available in one of the most expensive books called "The Birds of America". They made a movie about this book called American Animals :)

Yes!!! Once you buy a house, you look everywhere for inspiration! My phone always ends up full of photos of bathrooms or details I like :) Take your time decorating-you’ll enjoy the pieces more if you see how you live in the space before filling it with things! I know it’s hard 🤦🏼♀️ Enjoy!!!!

The seashell prints reminded me of an artist called Ernst Haekel. I used him as one of my artists for my artist research I had to do in one of my projects in college; and when you said there was something quite scientific about them, I instantly thought of him. His work was seen as quite outrageous for that time period and wasn't understood by many people xx

That butterscotch footstool is lush, I have a smaller one in a royal blue velvet to match an armchair - both from Homesense! The rug is so cool! love sitting down with a cuppa and catching up with your reno vlogs :) xx

The bird images are from a series of books from the Audubon Society :) I have a few original books I’ve found at thrift stores. Slowly framing those too!

Birds are from John James Audubon's Birds of America we were mega lucky to get old copies of the prints in America a few years back

Indeed very very soon! We are currently in a rented flat in London so have been working up to getting the basics in the house ready to move in like having our kitchen appliances ready to go haha xx

the style of the shell prints is similar to old fashion botanical drawings that botanists would have done pre-photography to document plants and species!
The flamingo is an Audubon print! Very famous.

Artists would do case/art studies. They would do dozens of images of the same still life etc do get perspective, shade and light, proportion etc for their composition. Botanicals, flora and fauna are my favourite.

...botanical illustrations:) Marianne North is a famous female illustrator with a permanent collection of drawings and illustrations from her travels around the globe at Kew Gardens. She was a friend of Charles Darwin, and daughter of a prominent politician, travelling with him as his companion . Her collection is the only permanent collection by a female illustrator too. Well worth a visit!
