- Join Rob Barrington as he discusses the many different choices the opener has for their rebid, and what each choice shows.
You can find the chart I used in this video right on the front page of www.learnbridge.nyc
Thank you, its so helpful!
Beginner at bridge and found this lesson extremely interesting and helpful. It was originally posted 4 years ago but new for me
So happy you found it. Thanks so much.
Thank you! Great class!
Great lesson from Sue in South Africa
Great review
when should we consider distributional points while seeing the range of our hand and are u using SAYC
Beginner checking in. Audrey Grant categorizes Opener's rebids hands as Minimum, 13-16; Medium, 17-18; Maximum, 19-21. Am I right that you've basically lowered the minimum and medium categories by a point (and added a few subtleties).
wormtownpaul Hey there. The one main thing that is different is the start to opener’s range. In the modern game, all 12 point hands are opened so we have that as a starting point. This chart isn’t meant to be exact in the real world, but has suggested ranges for each bid. For example, sometimes as opener, I will rebid at the lowest level with certain 18s (even though the range is 12-17). This is a solid guideline for what each of these rebids should mean. Hope this helps
While the upper end of point range has been revised to 15 & 17 in the second and third rows, but isn't the responder constrained to use 12 at the low end of point range to decide on his course of action. Would appreciate clarification.
