I’m loving this shoe, its definitely my favorite shoe I’ve bought in the last two years. For me it’s the perfect amount of squish combined with a bunch of bounce. Great video by the way!
I picked up a pair yesterday and took them out for a 6 mile run. I like the comfort and the fact that you can pick up the pace. My only criticism is that the tongue for me is a little thin and that resulted in a little discomfort from the laces. I also tested the Vongo, Rincon and Triumph at the store and I own the Mach4, Bondi and Clifton. I like the additional comfort of the Nimbus for longer runs. It also seems more responsive than the Rincon, Bondi, Triumph and Clifton.
I bought this shoe about 2 weeks ago and it has been good so far. I took back my 23s in hopes that since they were fairly new when the outsole ripped off that they would be able to offer some sort of discount but didn't happen. Tried on about 5 different pairs of shoes in all different brands and the 24 felt the best. So I am giving it another go. Lets hope this pair holds out better. Looking forward to trying the Brooks Glycerin 20 this year. Love Ruby and her appearances on the channel!!!
I really liked the “overpronators, supinators, terminators” part 😊. The running footage showed the shoes seem very stable . Especially for us being overpronators on one foot and supinators on the other 🤪
Thank you so much for your reviews Emily, you are always part of my Sundays!! About the hotspot on the pads of your feet, I think it might have to do with the Asics 3D Space Construction that has been used since the Nimbus 23. In women's shoes it is also in the forefoot (men's only in the heel), it is a zone with sort of honeycomb-shaped elements in the midsole that is supposed to make the midsole give in individually to the runner's foot and thus make it softer and more individually shaped for the runner. It sounds nice, but the problem is especially for women (such as me, I wore too many higher heeled shoes in my life...), sometimes it is not good to have a shoe give in only in certain areas with more pressure, as that can make the metatarsal bones sink in like in a hammock which can cause/worsen metatarsalgia. Unfortunately I cannot run in shoes like that. I have metatarsalgia problems sometimes and the 3D space construction makes it so much worse that I couldn't run in the Nimbus 23 after a while on my first run with it (the first kilometers were fine, it only occured after some time during the run for me...), it got so bad that I had to limp home, I could't even walk any more... My feet are definitely much worse than yours though and probably not everyone will have problems with the hammock effect in the forefoot, but I wish Asics didn't use the 3D space construction... The 13 mm drop might also add to the problem, as it puts more pressure on the forefoot... I don't know why they think these things are better for women (the high drop and space construction in the forefoot), it kills my forefeet... Thank you so much for mentioning the problem with the pads of your feet, it helps me a lot to know I'm not the only one :-) Maybe I will try the Nimbus lite 3, I think it doesn't have the 3D space construction (I'm not sure though)
@@bethrutland2870 Thank you Beth 🙏 I just checked the Asics website, 3D space construction is not listed among the technologies for the Nimbus lite 3, it is listed for the Nimbus 24 though, so I think the Nimbus lite 3 doesn't have it. So you should be able to go with the women's version... Unless you want to avoid the 13 mm drop, that's another reason to choose the men's version, I was wondering too whether I should try :-)
I want to love these shoes soooo badly!! I have the hotspot you mentioned as well and will be returning them because of it... I think the FF Blast+ is AMAZING, but every step feels like it's the gel in the forefoot poking me because it's not as squishy as the FF Blast+. If they removed the forefoot gel I think they have one of the best daily trainers on the market!
Runs small in my opinion. Had to get a 12 in the Nimbus 24 and Gel lite 3. Went with a 12 in the Novablast 2 as well despite everyone saying it runs large.
83 I tried it..some discount.. on foot is awsome. But also No No from me because metarsal upper part is frictionful. I hate when awesomeness is destroyed with a detail. I ll wait Cumulus 24, Kayanos 28 and 29, Glideride 3.
Hello fellow overpronator! How did you find the stability with all that squish squish? I’m loving mine so far but getting slight ankle soreness haven’t taken them past 6 miles I want them to be my long run show but jury is out so far. Great review as always, Emily
I’ve been running in the ASICS lites. For the past year and really liked them except for I burn through them a lot quicker than I used to burn through ASICS Nimbus’s. I started to get blisters on the left forfront near big toe. Just bought the basics and invest 24s and can only run about 3 miles in them outside I feel a pressure on the left toe. I’ve heard other runners complain about the left toe for some reason with this particular shell. Not sure what it is.
@@RunLikeHeller it’s ashame because I love the Nimbus. Not sure why I’m getting blisters on the left forefoot by the big toe. But I’m dying to know, how you’ve got the job of testing out running shoes? How did ASICS find you?
I tend to not really notice drops like this and it was sort of the same for me in this case. That being said, I tend to really only have issues with drops when it becomes really low like a 3 or sometimes 4
I've heard some other reviews of this shoe and some complained about the gel in the four-foot however they said it went away after a while. I'm thinking of buying some but I'm just not sure I have a question for you is there a lot of toe room? How is the width compared to past models
Yes I agree going to a store would be best just because everyone has different foot shapes but for me I feel like I have a decent amount of room. I have a narrow foot though. Where the space becomes an issue for me is in the volume of the forefoot.
How is the cushion of Gel Nimbus 24 vs NB 880v12? Which one do you feel giving more cushion? What about the bounce a.k.a. energy return, GN 24 or 880v12 is better?
I have always wanted to like Nimbus but always seem to end up with hot spots. Sounds like I may experience hot spot again should I get this version Nimbus. It’s not that I cannot wear Asics shoes. In fact, I always enjoyed the fit of their shoes and have ran in other Asics shoes. In fact, my very first pair of running shoes was the very first version X-Caliber in the early 80’s. So it has been disappointing that I could not wear Nimbus. Not sure why the hot spot (maybe the gel in the forefoot, its placement for my foot). Stay safe and healthy.
I don’t know what it is, but no matter the shoe from asics, I always get the same pad hotspot you talked about. It had to be something with the mid and outsole. I used to think it was the “guidance line” causing pressure, but…it’s not there anymore so huh?!
this shoe is so beautiful but has a small "lump" in the inside, in the innersole, near the front part of the shoe...it is sooo strange....I have tried several models and I feel it in all of them. Maybe that is what you mean in this video too. I had the lady from Asics feel it too with her hand, and she said that yes, she could feel it, that it is probably the way the gel is distributed in the innersole.....so so strange....the 23 does not do that
I just can’t get beyond the 13 and 14 mm drops on the women’s versions of these shoes, in which I’d otherwise be interested in trying. I know I sound like a broken record when I ask “why??” Meanwhile, Ruby is looking sweet as ever. Martha
Have you thought about trying the men's version? It only has a 10mm drop. I just prefer men's shoes in general for running due to my foot shape but perhaps it is an option for you?? I prefer a higher drop personally.
Asics Fuji Lyte are giving me massive problematic metarsal pain by 120 miles, trust your instinct on that hotspot. They also refused to post my 1 star review on their site.
Can you recommend “the shoe” you’d recommend for someone who pronates in their left foot and has some medial pain? I have been using ASICS stability and ordered the Arahi5 but trying to find one that’s not only stable but fast and comfy…is this unicorn a thing?
Hmm Arahi 5 probably would have been my choice. But if you’re looking for a faster shoe with a hint of stability you can take a look at the New Balance Prism. The first version is better than v2
I am looking for the best model shoe with the best cushioning for standing and walking all day. Would you choose asics nimbus 24 or nike zoomX invincible run flyknit 2?

This is the only nimbus I’ve wanted to try out. Nice to see Asics try something different with the midsole.😀
same
Totally agree!
….procrastinator, compensator, regulator. I think that bit could have gone on for at least 5-6 minutes. 😁
Oh, and I’m loving the GN24s! 👊🏼

Yes indeed!
kofuzi also had an issue with the pads of his feet in this shoe, so he prefers the Nimbus Lite 3 (even though he really wants to love the 24)
I have to agree with him there!
Agree, the lite is the way to go love the nimbus lite!
Always love seeing how “helpful” Ruby is in the kicker. 😂🐶

I think your stride looks great in the shoe. You look like you're pronating less. Interested in this shoe.
I wore my Asics Cumulus 24 to work and my right foot was hurting. I always have to replace my insoles for better comfort.
Wow, a 13mm drop. How did the drop feel during your runs?
13mm is pretty extreme...I don't know of any shoe with a stack higher than that.

Hi Heller,
I wanted to buy a shoe. I am trying running and am overweight.
Should I wait for NovaBlast 3 or Nimbus 24 would be a decent choice ?
Nimbus 24 is great option, I haven’t tried the novablast 3 yet

What is a terminator in regards to stability running? I can’t find anything about that online
I’d swap out the insole. But in the end these are in no way capable of replacing the Glideride shoe.

asics already made the ebst flye foam ever iun the nimbus 17 back in 2015 then they somehow has chosen to make crappy flyte foams ever after
