    SPOILER: Anna took the risk going knight C8 instead of the draw through reputation with 1min on the clock vs nemo having 55 minutes, Pia seemed on the verge of a heart attack for almost the entire game alongside chat but made her so proud seeing Anna playing out the end game then coming through with the win! Great game by both. Win or lose is still lessons and skills learnt.

    1050 rated player here. This was the first long chess game I've watched. Dude. I don't know if it gets any better for my money than this. The Grand Master mother doing commentary. The early time disadvantage. That crazy drama right at the end, and seeing how much they both care and how brilliant they both are? I don't know if it gets any better for my money.

    Great game Anna I was chewing my nails off . Time management was a stressor for your Mom but Pia did a great commentary and was worried but then became so excited for you. Pia missed the illegal move and the clock fall and was very concerned with the clock showing you had lost time. Yet when they reset the clock and you made the first move after the restart she was so very proud and happy for you. Go rest and then study up for tomorrow. Get good sleep and come tomorrow clam, alert and on your game you can do this. We believe in you.✌💖🕯

      At around 5:28:40 you can see quite clearly that she tried to play f5, before unintentionally moving the bishop to g5. I'm just wondering why they continued with g4. But it didn't matter in the end.

    • @XxKidnoffxX
      @XxKidnoffxX Месяц назад

      @@justbrowsing5279 It's not a fanboy thing, she did a illegal move and it's normally a lose direct. Anna probably agree to continue, knowing she was winning anyway.

      I think the illegal move resulted in Anna getting an add’l 30 secs, Zhou hit the timer within the limit, play proceeded after VAR and arbiter. Seeing humor in a situation requires neither fans nor intent. Laugh a little, it helps with perspective.

    It was one of the most dramatic and exciting matches I have seen in many a year!😊
    Not least because of the clock-gate, not least because of the bishop-gate and the half-hour interruption that resulted, and not least because of Papa Botez and Dina serving as (unlikely) arbiters towards the end!😂 The match truly had everything.
    Personally I applaud Anna for having the guts to play moves 27-39 on increments only and she's done ever so well. On reflection, it's during those moves that Miss Nemo should have taken more time to work out ways to hurt Anna and aim to "turn the screw", and she didn't do that - sadly for her.
    An excellent study material for anyone who's poor at chess like me😅 oh and huge thanks of course must go to Pia for her outstanding live commentary!❤🙏👍

      They did, they gave Anna a little extra time and Nemo got an official warning, You can make 1 illegal move but if a second is played only then you're DQ. They reviewed the video apparently and freeze framed it and seen. Was discussed and given notice by the mod's in the official botez stream. Same rules as all official international classical games.

      @@HapppyLittleAccidents You're correct, and it's bizarre. The rule is that in classical time controls an illegal move requires a penalty of two minutes added to the opponent's clock, so I assumed it was applied. It seems Anna was given 32 seconds, added to her 28 remaining seconds. This makes no sense. Even in rapid time controls, the penalty is 1 minute for the first illegal move, and in blitz it's a forfeit. These rules do not have exceptions, and there are limits to the discretion arbiters have. It's mystifying.
      As for Nemo's clock, the time control has a 30 second increment for each move.
