Great video! In depth explanation and compares the potentiometer based sticks to TMR sticks greatly! Keep it up, don't know how it only got about 100 likes
I got a question I just replaced my joysticks with Hall effects sticks but when I go to calibrate the right stick only goes diagonal and the left stick doesn’t move!! What did I do?
Very good video, it shows that you know what you are doing, everything is very clean and in parts... but I have one question, which is better to remove the joysticks, with a heat gun or with a tin extractor? Which process damages the plate the least? thank you so much.
@NakedTrashPanda from all the testing I've seen hall effect tend to be higher latency than traditional sticks. In fact it's the reason they removed TMR sticks from the PS3 controller as the latency issues resulted in it missing fast movements. There's also plenty of test examples online showing that they tend to be slower than traditional sticks. There are some that are comparable, but it's not very consistent. The whole point of TMR and hall effect is they should last longer if you're rough on your controller. And there's really only one wear free hall effect controller on the market, the Flydigi Vader 4 Pro.
Hey i have a question i hope you can help with. I recalibrated my sticks for both center and circularity but the circularity is still awful i get 10 and 12 percent and i dont know why no matter how many times i recalibrate they stay the around the same. Any help is appreciated thanks!
Help me choose a controller! Who has better joysticks? Who is more reliable and better? Flydigi Vader 4 Pro for 37$ or Gamesir Cyclone 2 for 30$? Please help
I've tested both. They feel different. I'd give the TMRs extra points for accuracy tracking a target. Then again I somehow liked the hall effect sticks in fast games better. Take a race game and have three kids race the same lap 10x with both sticks. Than you will see a difference.
@shfd3832 I've been trying both back and forth now and honestly I can't tell much of a difference except for the sticks the tmr comes along with. The tmr sticks are great and interchangeable with accessory sticks for the king Kong 3.
I am usint V5 Aliexpress hall effect and so far so good. 10 pieces for 22 bucks. I planted these on my 5 joysicks and tbh i am glad that i am free from stick drifts. I dont play FPS so i dont know too much on accuracy but i think you should get used to it

If youre using the gulikit tmr i suggest looking at them under magnification and good lighting. They are very peone to rusting.
When taking off the solder using a solder wick with a lil flux is a lot easier and cleaner. Well at least for me, each to their own

TMR is more accurate, but it's not lower latency. Actually latency is one of the main reasons they haven't been the standard.
Hall effect is typically lower latency, so I would be surprised if that was the case.
An official implementation could easily be better.

how precise feel in game?
Do these sticks needs calibration if so how you do that ?

Watch the last 2mins of video and use the link the guy pasted.
Can you test the k silver Tmr sticks?
If it's out of the radius it doesn't seem to be a problem just when it's within the radius
These joints are not good looking. You might want to use a bigger iron tip, higher temp and put less solder

Most likely it’s not a issue the software can fix and the sticks are just old and loose

So what are u trying to say? Which is better

You need to rework the circularity range..theyre not going all the way to the edge like the new conrrollers
How do you do that?
7:13 I would use flux and a wick, not that tool you use.
Does anyone know why the website is not reading my ps5 controller ?? Thanks ahead
make sure it is on PC not Mac
@TheGamer2Know thanks, it was because I needed a data cable. Thank you.
Stupid thing but can you do paddles for me ?
ok
