the irony is that this song is essentially about vocaloid eventually becoming obsolete, yet this is one of the songs that made vocaloid incredibly popular.
This song is based off when in mid 2007 searching miku was banned because they thought it was "spam" and when you clicked on any Hatsune Miku video an error message occurred that says "An irrecoverable error has occured" (Miku was created in 2007 and when she was created EVERYONE WENT CRAZY.)
The moment I realized that this song is about Miku realizing she's impermanent and a machine emulating a person, is no longer finding joy in singing, and is now anticipating her being deleted by singing this last, crazy fast good bye song was the day this song started hitting in a way different way than any other Miku song.
Memes aside, I just want to say that seeing her collapse sideways with the final note and announcing “Irrecoverable error” as the camera continues to casually pan around what’s essentially her corpse as if the show were still going on is fucking spine chilling, especially when you consider the meaning behind the song’s lyrics.
I know, it’s really scary and sad, I think I’m going to have nightmares, I need to go do something happy now. I’m literally shivering, and it’s gotten colder, too.
@zumiixlahh Wasn't it the fact that this was supposed to be her last song, but it got so popular around that time, that now she's practically the face an entire subculture of music.
I love that she's dancing cutely, even though she's clearly in distress. It just makes it even more creepy, because it gives the impression that she has no control over her body, and she's being forced to dance, even though she's hurting emotionally and physically. To add to that, her movements are slightly jerky, implying that she's trying to finish the dancing quickly to make it stop, or that she's trying to push against it.
I found this comment from another video Fun Fact: this song was created after one fateful day in 2007, where, if you went to youtube and clicked on ANY Hatsune Miku song, the "an irreversible error has occured" message would pop up.

This is sad, Miku really realizes that she is a system and breaks down while her fans cheer her on. Not only that, as she collapses sideways the camera goes around her which is showing her corpse which is fucked up...

I think I understand how you feel. But don't feel bad about it! They just fail to see this sad part of it, or try not to because most people have a problem with being sad. Try to ignore them.
I don't think she's going anytime soon, but I think the meaning is talking about the fate of miku, vocaloid or other synthesised Programs used for music. Right now they are good to listen at but someday some other form will replace them. and I hope I'm wrong because i like miku because she's cute and this genre of music is unique and I like unique and wierd things
4:44 can you see smiling miku? This is heartbreaking that miku is trying her best to explain what she's feeling but her fans just waves their glowstick's and dance's and cheering without even understanding the lyrics
This gives me the chills everytime I hear it. When I was in first grade and heard this song I really thought Miku was gonna be erased forever and fell into deep sadness that I shut off the TV and couldn’t bear to listen to anymore vocaloid cuz I might cry and it’s too much to think of. After 6 years, vocaloid found me again and the memories started flooding back in and I realised how dumb I was not doing any more further research to see if Miku was really getting deleted, but then I was only in first grade with the RUclips on the LG TV as my only source of the internet and there was no way to search on the internet. I was such a dumb kid.
Every time I see one of those AI influencer attempts pop up, I go back and give a listen to this song. Vocaloid is the embodiment of success because of the humanity you can feel through it - AI simply cannot replicate that
Vocaloid has a very dark side, those who have been lurking around it for some years know it. Yet, this song seems the saddest to me, given its tone, idk, makes me feel so bittersweet. It's like the realization that even though you were doing your best, it was not enough. In fact, doing your best doesn't equal doing the necessary, and that's a hard pill to swallow. Edit: you shall always live on, Miku, as long as I'm alive. Vocaloid won't die as long as I stand.

The fact she kept a smile on her face almost the whole time, not showing that she was in pain except for when she was about to be deleted or singing the fast parts. Her dances were fast like she was trying to stop dancing quickly so she could deliver the true message only to run out of time and dance yet again. At the end, her singing gets faster because she knows her time is almost up and she's panicking and trying to do at least something to stop her disappearance. But to no avail, she gets up, clearly struggling, losing her life force, and delivers her final message. A goodbye. A goodbye to all her fans and the producers who used her, only to freeze at the end and an interruption message plays. "Irrecoverable error" Her distress leaves as the error message sends, interrupting whatever was happening, and she's gone. anyways like my detailed interpretation?
This song is actually a tribute to something that happened in 2007. When you clicked anything related to Miku, an "irrecoverable error" would pop up, because so many people were searching "hatsune miku" that Google and Yahoo servers had automatically blocked her name because they thought it was spam or search abuse.
Who else in middle school (generally 2016-2018 era) believed that miku was THE TRUE AND ONLY RAP GOD and NOT eminem because of this song and the memes about it at the time
Shit I remember back when Miku was first introduced to the world. That was when anime started to get the world's attention. Still clearly remember that 1 loner in my class that sits in the rear end of class and do nothing but play Osu and listen to Miku every single time I pass him. Wonder where he is now...
She's singing fast because she doesn't have much time left. This shit's dark.... EDIT AS OF 1/12/21: Guys I know, I've been reading your replies. I only wrote this comment because it's how I interpret it. Any song can be interpreted however you want, especially when it comes to Vocaloid songs. Please stop acting like I don't know what the song is about. I've been a Vocaloid fan for 6+ years now and talking about songs is something I love doing. Thanks for the overwhelming amount of likes btw.
Today I found out that the inspiration behind this song was that in late 2007, Google hid a lot of the search results for Miku because so many people were searching her that they thought it was some sort of foul play. But even though that's not the case anymore, I still think this song has aged well. Here are my reasons. 1. CFM recently announced that they would be discontinuing Project Diva due to financial reasons and focusing more on Project Sekai. Vocaloid as a whole isn't dying, but it is definitely dying (or is already dead) as we know it. Vocaloid won't be the same without Project Diva because whereas then they had detailed MVs, unique songs and only the Vocaloid characters, now we have a basic mobile rhythm game with stock anime characters that has given the Cryptonloids canon personalities which I think has ruined Vocaloid since 1. it's easily accessible to everyone even young kids who have no idea what a Vocaloid is and probably won't look hard enough to find out and 2. the absence of canon personalities was what made Vocaloid personal. Perhaps the existence of the game itself isn't necessarily 'ruining' Vocaloid because some people may like the personalities they gave them, but it's really the fact there will be no more new Project Diva games and it's less accessible than Project Sekai. 2. Probably the fact that Hatsune Miku is 'no longer a Vocaloid'. I know most modern popular songs use her V4 voicebank but CFM itself literally handed her over to Piapro. This isn't my biggest point as as far as I know, her NT voicebank isn't heavily used but I still think it's symbolic of Vocaloid being dead and replaced with newer synths (which is a COMPLETELY different vibe to old Vocaloid as most of them are way too realistic and the effort it takes to tune them is decreased). However, many Vocaloids/Utauloids are getting new AI voicebanks and are being used a lot (Teto for example) which I feel like, although it probably won't *replace* Vocaloid, it probably will surpass it in terms of how much it's used. 3. Miku Expo in the USA and Europe have officially converted to LED screen for all future shows. Yes, people will say that it looks better in-person than on camera but that doesn't excuse that CFM is being lazy and uncaring. My theory is that they have got so much money from this they don't even care about Vocaloid anymore and just want money since they know many die-hard fans will buy tickets anyway. Yes people can still have a good time there because it's a place to spend time with other fans but that's it: it's the fans that are carrying Vocaloid. So basically, CFM is seeming to forget/not care about Vocaloid's roots and are prioritising money which is in turn, killing Vocaloid. This is of course being amplified by Project Sekai's popularity, especially on TikTok; the popularity of new synths; and people suddenly being fine with the changes to Miku Expo despite CFM scamming everyone and not apologising. The only people keeping old Vocaloid alive is the community, but we all need to be aware that CFM is a corrupt company.
this is understandable since money is now the main thing in companies, which saddens me. i remembered this song this year when i was playing project sekai, which is only recent, so i was surprised that actual ppl know miku and still care. but sadly, they only like the game. i, however, just love the nostalgia of this song. its just, amazing!! honestly, i thought miku was dying so i was sad when i was younger. i think im back to listening to miku songs :D but still, saddens me since its no longer cared about from her *original* company, that literally *built* her ToT but at least now ppl still love her voice :D i still feel sad about this song :(
Guys, this isn't her *literal* last song. I mean, there's a sequel to this titled "The Intense Singing Passion of Hatsune Miku." But even after that, people up to this day are still making music using her voice. So don't worry, this is not the end.
@@twoletters8347 I myself have been a fan of Miku for 2 years. I posted this comment because some people new to the vocaloid fandom didn't understand and thought she really did disappear.
@@dubbyandnothingelse Well this would actually be the last song, it's the sequel to this song. ruclips.net/video/VFtJk-vgti4/видео.html But people still make songs after it 🙂
At the end of the song, i realized she was saying "Irrevocable Error" and made me think back in mid 2007 that where you click in any miku video, it would say "An irrevocable error has occurred"
listening to this in 2020 has a different feel. I remember when i first found this as an edgy preteen, thinking that i understood the song somewhat perfectly, but now i see it differently. Nowadays, vocaloid doesn't seem to be as popular as it was when i was a kid. With anime getting bigger and more mainstream, It kinda feels like the niche audiences of vocaloid from the past are expanding as well and branching out into different types of music and whatnot, kinda making vocaloid covers or just the whole vibe of the niche fade a LITTLE bit. I see this song as Hatsune Miku making a final send off to, well, vocaloid I guess; in a distant future where she becomes obsolete or "outdated". I dunno though, this is mostly just a nostalgia rant.
I agree. These last few years I’ve been hearing less and less about Vocaloid. Hopefully Project Sekai revives the community, even if it’s only a little bit.
@@barbaraujo3811 no . Fnf is not the only hard rhythm game . Look at hisokeee's gameplay of it in project diva . Also osu . Not that interested is in osu , bu there is bound to be extra-hard gameplay of i by someone .
I love this song, Miku expressing so many things is such short amount of time while dancing and smiling, saying her last goodbye as fast as she can while doing what she knows: singing. She’s clearly sad but still smiling as she sings and dances, saying goodbye to us knowing she is nothing but a program, this song is so amazing and kinda creepy, it’s such a banger that express many things at an incredible speed, Miku wants to say everything she needs to say before getting “Deleted”
0:27 When She Realizes she is not human and will disappear soon 1:44 She Started Singing Faster A Bit After Realizing She Was Glitching Because of the creators of Hatusne Miku made her glitch and she could not say the words she wanted to say to fans 2:20 She Begged Her Owners For Her To Keep Singing But It Just Makes Her Feel Worse 2:43 She Started Glitching Again And could not sing the words she wanted to say 3:47 She Realized She Did Not Have Time To Say What She wanted so she sang faster than ever 3:50 When She Started To Slowly Fade and disappear 4:29 She Thanked Everyone For Being By Her Side and saying her final goodbye 4:35: She looked like she wanted to say something with her movement but stopped and disappeared :c
Okay, this is my theory. The reason shes changing outfits is because her creator is deleting her one by one and the outfits represent different forms/files of miku on the computer/pc
I really wanna take her existential mental breakdown seriously, but everytime she talks about how she hope's she'll remember the taste of leeks I just have to start laughing-

This song is actually a tribute to something that happened in 2007. Damn, I didn't think of it like that. Thought it was just for the style of this song...
oh jeez

*Woah*
This scares me so very much
this is understandable since money is now the main thing in companies, which saddens me. i remembered this song this year when i was playing project sekai, which is only recent, so i was surprised that actual ppl know miku and still care. but sadly, they only like the game. i, however, just love the nostalgia of this song. its just, amazing!! honestly, i thought miku was dying so i was sad when i was younger. i think im back to listening to miku songs :D but still, saddens me since its no longer cared about from her *original* company, that literally *built* her ToT but at least now ppl still love her voice :D

listening to this in 2020 has a different feel.
