I looked up the Fenix brand lights, since I've been shopping for a new work light to carry when I go to job sites. My old light needs a new battery and I just want something new. I saw the WT25R and that thing looks absolutely perfect for what I need. Glad I saw you mention their brand and I took the time to check into them.

Mad props for choosing the Instinct Solar. To this day I regret not getting one after reviewing it, I went with the Fenix 6, but Fenix lacks that special something that Instinct has. And by the way - Garmin has the best gym tracking, especially when you'd add workouts manually in Garmin Connect - it can guide you through the entire workout session with timer, etc.
Got Instinct Solar and solar itself is pretty useless living in Poland ;) Probably living in California when sun shines almost every day it could make sense. It very decent watch for the price however you should really take into account whether you really need to pay more for solar panel :)
I work with security cameras. I bought an armbar last year for work and loved it, but always wished it had a ratchet driver built in. When I saw that Leatherman started making a ratcheting bit driver I bought it immediately! I've been using those in combo for about 4 months. I just got back from a trip to Tennessee (Smokey mountain knife works) yesterday and picked up the Leatherman Skeletool CX which fits the ratcheting driver natively and I think its finally time to retire the armbar. I was sitting here yelling at this video "Yes! they do work together!" with the driver and the armbar. Ridiculous spending, great video!
Ive been looking into the armbar and the ratchet adapter, i was thinking it would solve the issue of the non locking driver that so many reviews on RUclips talk about. Nice to see that someone else thought of it too and that it works 👍
Love REI. As a backpacker, Red Cross volunteer and being in the military I almost always rely on my edc. I carry a CRKT knife, Gerber multi tool, rite in rain notebook, space pen, pocket size flashlight, headlamp, I wear a Garmin Fenix 6 pro, Oakley sunglasses and of course phone with my earbuds. Thats just my pocket edc. I carry a ruck or what people call a go bag every day.
Love that watch, I’m a k9 handler at my local Sheriffs Office and I love the Garmin Instinct especially on tracks I can set a home point if I don’t have cell service my watch can keep track without having to stress
This was fun! I just customized a Crooked River last week on their website and was debating on mini or full. Go big or go home! I can't wait for it to get here.
I have this existential crisis a couple times a month - lololol - that was very funny! Great video which is why I am a Patreon - keep em coming and thank you!
They have fitness tracking rings now! Might be something work looking into since you're wanting to track your health stuff but still wear your automatic watches.
Looking at watches I’ve done Fitbit garmin and Apple and as a runner and a cyclist I’ve killed them all in under 18 months. Presently using a cheaper £100 watch maybe 130 dollars and it’s a Amazfit trex and it’s unreal. 15-20 day battery life using each day for cycling 30 mile round trip to work and 4 runs a week between 5 & 8 miles. For me it’s bullet proof and way better than the more expensive well known brands and it’s a great fitness tracker Love the content Taylor keep it coming regards from Liverpool U.K.
I LOVE my armbar! You forgot to mention the ability to hammer with it (when the bottle opener/pry bar is in the closed position). It’s come in handy, for sure. What other multi-tool has that option? Let’s be honest. Keep up the good work on dropping those LBS! Proud of you
Love the instinct and crooked river. My knife was stolen by usps when I sent it in for warranty repair. Benchmade emailed me a photo of a torn open package! Good choice though!
I’ve carried my armbar everyday since I got it. Lost the gerber bit but replaced it with a gold philips from makita. It actually made it looked bad ass
also aer city sling bag it’s nice too but you gotta be a little bit minimalism that’s at least my experience but let’s try to make taylor go more in depth about sling bags and make content about it !!!!!
Thicc: A compliment given to someone who's got a lot of CAKE! and you'd hit that Thick: A insult meaning someone is fat and unattractive Thic: A compliment or insult depending on what the person receiving it takes it as meaning someone is fat but you'd still hit that.
Great pick up from REI. I love that place! I have the RC05 SE and that is my current go to edc flashlight. I believe it is the REI special edition with the magnetic charging port on the side of the flashlight. I don’t remember if the one from Amazon had that same magnetic style of charging. Great video. Keep up the FANTASTIC work!
Hey, dude! I am from Brazil. Nice E.D.C, Nice car... but what really matter is go to a gym and work your body. Your body always will be your better Everyday Carry! Never forget that!
Could you do a video on best UK edc or At least knives. Getting ready to move to Scotland and my edc changing is probably the safest part. It would essentially become a “best slip joint knife for EDC” video. But that’s okay.
I love my Armbar. I keep it, a compact lockpick set and a set of 1/4 bits in a small leather belt pouch while at work. Only thing I wish it had was some pliers. I'm going to need to get that leatherman ratchet though.
If you like wearing traditional watches, you could try a whoop strap. The only problem with whoop, is it has a subscription tracking service whereas garmin is free from their app.
I had the same issue; watch vs Fitbit. I took the straps off of the Fitbit and dropped it in my 5th pocket. Still picks up heart rate, steps, etc. Save yourself a few hundred.
I think the light you may have referred to was the PD36R which has the exterior USB-C port. One I was impressed with for it's small size was the Fenix E12 for a small pocket light. The PD36R is a little big to keep in a pocket but fits great in my 2-slot holster (multi and flash light).
One suggestion for your fitness tracker that I see a lot is to take and old style Fitbit, take it out of its wrist band and just stick it in your pocket. E.g. your 5th pocket
Fellow watch guy here, I wanted a fitness tracker as well but didn't want to go the smart watch route. Ended up going with the Oura ring and have really liked it and the accompanying app. Whoop is another option but would require wearing it on the other wrist.
Check out Whoop. It’s a band you can wear on your other arm with no display so it won’t look like 2 watches. Most accurate tracker as well. Good luck with your fitness journey!
I’ve been carrying waist pack for a long time thought you’ll never talk about it which i hope you do since they pretty useful for those extra things like vape juice powerbanks for my phone and vape gum and some other stuff like wearing joggers or pants with no so many pockets but being able to carry your entire EDC is awsome....i’ve always like the Garmin Fenix look but it just have a bunch of features that i know i’m not gonna use so for me an apple watch is the way to go
Before I watched it I said 750 just because you said Garmin watches. And Bonus fact - Sat here watching this episode while eating scratch made apple pie with the fork of my Case xx Hobo lol.
You should look into whoop. I wear it on my right wrist and still wear a watch on my left. It is really great and tons of professional athletes use so it's definitely a good one.
If you wanted a fitness tracker that looks more like a wrist band you could try the "whoop" band! wear it on one wrist and the nice watches you like on the other. Doesn't look nearly as silly as wearing two watches!
Hey buddy, got a question on the Gerber armbar. The armbar drive has terrible bad scissors so do you know any alternative minimalistic tool including knife, bit driver and a usable pair of scissors? Cheers from germany!
I have that same flashlight, I was also looking for the magnet charge but other than that the flashlight is awesome. Very bright and durability is great.
They sell suunto watches. Sunto core is less than $150. Had mine for 10 years and the electronics finally fried. But i work in tougher than normal environment.
I would love to learn more about how garmin watches and fitness watches are working out for you. I have a cheaper garmin and its ok but I really wish it had some of the cool iphone integrations that the apple watch has. If it weren't for the fact that apple watch users need to charge their watch EVERY NIGHT I'd probably be wearing one
Really Enjoyed This Video! I Was Thinking You Should Try a Oura Ring Tracker.. So You Can Continue wearing Your Dope Watches and Take Back That Garmin Watch.
the garmin isn't bad ..I have the battery powered version of the instinct ..use it for runs and sometimes I wear it all day ...but if you're not a smart watch person Garmin is the way to go
If Garmin isn´t your cup of tea, try the (Multisport) Vantage or Grit Series from Polar. I don´t know if they´re widely available in the US, but they´re very good and almost half the price. I switched my beloved Tissot Automatic for a Vantage M as my daily driver about two years ago and only use the Tissot for special occasions now (with a suit, for example). I don´t use the 'smart' thing, but instead use it to keep track of my sleep, exercise and fitness levels with the occasional sync to my phone. The apps are also excellent.
Interesting video. I’ve been an REI member for decades but haven’t done much shopping with them since I moved from Alaska. I probably shouldn’t mention their stance on the second amendment. I’m going to pair the Leatherman Ratchet with the Bigidesign Bit Bar as soon as it arrives in the mail. I hope it works out. Not a big fan of serrations on my blades either.
There a lot of aftermarkt scales for knives also SAKs in titanium. Are there any aftermarkt scales (maybe the wrong wording) for full size multitools in titanium for example Swisstool spirit or Rebar...?
No Bullet Pen? REI is canceled.
No patina is bad for the soul.
I love me some REI. Proud co-op member
We need a Dollar store edc for you to financially recover from this video
I would like to see that just for fun tbh
Horrifying idea
I'd watch that!
ya I'd watch...but its gonna suck. you need to do it.
He'll end up with an old school pencil a razor blade and some rubber bands, but it'll be hilarious.
I’m digging the vlog style you’ve been doing. Still enjoy the behind the desk edc weekly format too but the vlog type vids are my favorite.
Nice thing about REI - you've got an entire year to figure out if you like it or not. Keep your receipts and you can return.
Don't even need the receipt

When I saw it was REI I knew it was going to be expensive but damn... 😂

Nice to know, not that I’m a handler or anything, but it sounds good for someone who likes to go backpacking/camping..
This was fun! I just customized a Crooked River last week on their website and was debating on mini or full. Go big or go home! I can't wait for it to get here.
Proud of you for getting healthier hope you keep it up man.
He's eating junk in the video.
Finally a crooked river i absolutely love that knife!!!!!
Forgot you were a North Carolinian until I saw Gibson Mill in the background!
I have this existential crisis a couple times a month - lololol - that was very funny! Great video which is why I am a Patreon - keep em coming and thank you!
They have fitness tracking rings now! Might be something work looking into since you're wanting to track your health stuff but still wear your automatic watches.
I’ve been using Fenix for almost 10 years now. My original tk22 still works perfectly fine.
Looking at watches I’ve done Fitbit garmin and Apple and as a runner and a cyclist I’ve killed them all in under 18 months. Great video! Has anyone asked about your sunglasses? They look cool. Would you mind sharing the details?
Love the instinct and crooked river. My knife was stolen by usps when I sent it in for warranty repair. Benchmade emailed me a photo of a torn open package! Good choice though!
So so close to the $300 budget you had 😂. Loved the gear!! REI (minus the wallet LOL) was a success!
I carry my full-size Crooked River daily. I upgraded the clip with a LynchNW and it allows it to disappear in the pocket. I was surprised.
I’ve carried my armbar everyday since I got it. Lost the gerber bit but replaced it with a gold philips from makita. It actually made it looked bad ass
Now I want to see a Sling Bag / Man Bag EDC weekly
Can anyone ID the sling bag Taylor is using in the video?
@@Justinator616 that's what I'm trying to figure out too

This man is so wholesome. Only channel I'm subscribed too
dropping the like to help pay for the REI hual lol. I got you bud!
Dude seeing your wife so supportive is so awesome :)
Hey, dude! I am from Brazil. Nice E.D.C, Nice car... but what really matter is go to a gym and work your body. Your body always will be your better Everyday Carry! Never forget that!
Would be curious to see review on the “dads Fanny”. Does it have a “tactical” crossover?
I am glad and sad I don't have stores like that near me 😃☹️🤐🤦🏻♂️
Good video. How about shopping for EDC from Cabelas, or Bass Pro Shops or Dickies or Academy Sports or Camping World?
Could you do a video on best UK edc or At least knives. Getting ready to move to Scotland and my edc changing is probably the safest part. It would essentially become a “best slip joint knife for EDC” video. But that’s okay.
I love this channel!! I was looking for something like the orbit key!! That is perfect!!
That Garmin will be on sale in the discord in a week
The fact that she was there, supportive, complimentary, and gave input!!! Dude you hit the jackpot!!!!
She’s my employee, not my wife. 🤣
My REI carries Casio G-Shocks and Pathfinders. Did they have the REI Exclusive 940? That woulda been a sweet edition.
I love my Armbar. I keep it, a compact lockpick set and a set of 1/4 bits in a small leather belt pouch while at work. Only thing I wish it had was some pliers. I'm going to need to get that leatherman ratchet though.
I have an Omega, Doxa, Oris, Seiko, and several Tags. My Garmin Fenix 5x Plus in titanium is on my wrist every day.
Ah... the REI at Northlake....haven't been there in several years. Might need to plan a visit.
If you like wearing traditional watches, you could try a whoop strap. The only problem with whoop, is it has a subscription tracking service whereas garmin is free from their app.

What satchel is that are you wearing in this vid?
Really getting into EDC, just purchased my first benchmade knife (infidel). Didn't know REI existed, and I'm so close to several locations!
Update on your edc gear ?
What does your lady carry? Found you while I was doing some research. Love your content. I’ve learned a lot!
Is there anything better than making a plate of food and getting a notification of a new video as soon as you sit down?
Facts. Same thing happened to me
I have that watch. It works well and if you are in the sun it keeps its battery well
What do you use on your visor to hold your sunglasses?!
I may be the only one, but the watch is the thing I’d want most out of all this 😂
One suggestion for your fitness tracker that I see a lot is to take and old style Fitbit, take it out of its wrist band and just stick it in your pocket. E.g. your 5th pocket
Fellow watch guy here, I wanted a fitness tracker as well but didn't want to go the smart watch route. Ended up going with the Oura ring and have really liked it and the accompanying app. Whoop is another option but would require wearing it on the other wrist.
I have an Oura on the way. 😬
Check out Whoop. It’s a band you can wear on your other arm with no display so it won’t look like 2 watches. Most accurate tracker as well. Good luck with your fitness journey!
By any chance do you sell any items that you don't like using anymore?
Great video and choices Taylor... though return that Fenix and get the Fenix PD36R. Youll love it more
Great video, only rei I know of is at north lake, my favorite camping/bushcraft store lo.
Great video as always 👍
You should do a complete carry from Scheels if you haven’t before
Taylor, do you get any compensation for the items you review or purchase?
What that sling pack you had on at REI?
Bought my Instinct Solar last year and yep that's a great buy!
Was that downtown Concord at the beginning? The stoplight at punchy's diner?
Hi nice video! Love your voice!! I have a question where do you have your glasses 👓 is it a holder?
I’ve been carrying waist pack for a long time thought you’ll never talk about it which i hope you do since they pretty useful for those extra things like vape juice powerbanks for my phone and vape gum and some other stuff like wearing joggers or pants with no so many pockets but being able to carry your entire EDC is awsome....i’ve always like the Garmin Fenix look but it just have a bunch of features that i know i’m not gonna use so for me an apple watch is the way to go
I have that flashlight! But not for my edc. It just stays in my car. Which has saved the day many times
Google gerber armbar pocket clip. Someone on etsy makes one for like 8 bucks and it's a game changer. Goes in the 2 little holes on the back of tool
Before I watched it I said 750 just because you said Garmin watches. And Bonus fact - Sat here watching this episode while eating scratch made apple pie with the fork of my Case xx Hobo lol.
The magnetic fenix light does not have a tail switch only a side switch.
Nice haul! Looking forward to the Garmin watch review
REI has an exclusive Leatherman Signal in Ranger Green with a topo blade -- I kinda figured that you wouldn''t be able to resist that one!
You should look into whoop. I wear it on my right wrist and still wear a watch on my left. It is really great and tons of professional athletes use so it's definitely a good one.
Great video man. You should try one of the hybrid smart watches that garmin or fossil makes. I own the fossil one and love it.
If you wanted a fitness tracker that looks more like a wrist band you could try the "whoop" band! wear it on one wrist and the nice watches you like on the other. Doesn't look nearly as silly as wearing two watches!
Hey buddy,
got a question on the Gerber armbar.
The armbar drive has terrible bad scissors so do you know any alternative minimalistic tool including knife, bit driver and a usable pair of scissors?
Cheers from germany!
I love REI. Bought quite a bit from them
Haha I was in REI yesterday, and can’t help myself to stop by the knife display. That place is dangerous for my wallet 😂
What kind of watch are you wearing in this video? It’s real nice!!
I have that same flashlight, I was also looking for the magnet charge but other than that the flashlight is awesome. Very bright and durability is great.
They sell suunto watches. Sunto core is less than $150. Had mine for 10 years and the electronics finally fried. But i work in tougher than normal environment.
What watch are you wearing in this video? Looks nice!
Highly recommend the glass protector for the watch
Have you tried some of fossils smart watches. There like some of the standard analog watch but with some smart watch features.
$800 worth of likes 👍🏾
The same REI I shop at 🙌🏽
Really Enjoyed This Video! I Was Thinking You Should Try a Oura Ring Tracker.. So You Can Continue wearing Your Dope Watches and Take Back That Garmin Watch.
The Fenix LD30 is quite possibly the best flashlight I have ever owned.
If ur looking for a fitness tracker and a nice watch maybe take a look at some hybrid smart watches.
the garmin isn't bad ..I have the battery powered version of the instinct ..use it for runs and sometimes I wear it all day ...but if you're not a smart watch person Garmin is the way to go

This is the coolest store I’ve ever seen
You take the watch out & ur doing 👌🏼kay. I hv tht Fenix & works awesome as a house light. Super bright too. Solid💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👊🏼
A whistle is a highly under rated tool for defense or if you get lost.
There a lot of aftermarkt scales for knives also SAKs in titanium. Are there any aftermarkt scales (maybe the wrong wording) for full size multitools in titanium for example Swisstool spirit or Rebar...?
Hmm i got the same discount because the houston rei didnt have the box for my crooked river, do they even have boxes for these then?
I'm curious what you think of the Instinct. I've bought mine a year ago and haven't taken it off since!
