Mike Had a contractor come to give estimate on boiler. He was impressed with my knowledge. I mentioned I've watched Mikey pipes forever. The tech told me all 13 guys in their company are required to watch you on knowledge and courtesy to customers. Oh ya All true!
So basically the friendship and trust developed with the customer is the application of plumbers grease to their sphincter area in which to facilitate with less pain the royal agitation they will receive when the bill comes. Awsome content buddy, keep it coming. 👍ps show that man how to properly wrap a wire around a screw terminal.
Should have finished the story at 8:15. Thats insane. Thats shit people do not think about. Jose seems like he will fit right in! IM glad you found someone! All love. Oh my furnace is running like a top. It finally ran.
Peter was humble , very eager to learn & knew his limits but raised them as he learned.....i wish him luck at his new place but sad to see him go. He learned from the best 👌
A new employee ? Where is Peter today ? Always enjoy your informative and entertaining videos. Why don't you do Oil Burners ? Thinking of buying a new Thermo Pride forced hot air furnace next year. Oil of course, no natural gas here.
Peter decided to take a spontaneous trip to Hawaii today, lucky guy! But don't worry, we'll manage without him for now. As for oil burners, we'll add it to our list of future topics. Thanks for watching and stay warm with your Thermo Pride furnace next year!
@mikey pipes whatca thoughts on these wifi thermostat pods? would a damper system be better? i have a two story that lacks in the upstairs heavily -esp in the summer months
Ah, the eternal battle of wifi thermostat pods vs damper systems! It's like choosing between pizza and tacos. Can't we just have both? But in all seriousness, if you're struggling with a temperature imbalance in your two-story home, especially upstairs, a damper system might provide a more targeted solution. Wifi thermostat pods can still be a great addition for overall control and convenience. Remember, it's all about finding the right balance (pun intended)!
I have said before an I will repeat no one that works for me had better not leave with out testing the customer unit ( it’s grounds for getting fired as explained to every employee. Safety first I’ll eat their extra labor as long as they are testing… But ?? 😂 you got to give the old gentlemen credit he tried !! I just wouldn’t advise he do any wiring at the nuclear reactor plant😅😅😅😅❤
Just wanted to say thank you for having alexa text me info about a 75 inch tv. Maybe next time wait about 5 seconds after asking about it and say "buy it", you could break Amazon with the number of canceled orders they would jave😂😂
I Give the OG credit He's pretty technically savvy My dad is 70 He would have never tried anything like that. I had the spank his hand like a child and tell him don't touch my thermostat Just tell Google to raise the temperature 😂😂
Ah, the love-hate relationship with smart thermostats! They can be a bit like that quirky roommate who always messes with the temperature. But hey, at least they save energy and money, right?
Just because you can Successfully Turn On a Light Switch or Plug In an Item into an Outlet doesn’t mean you are Qualified to re-Wire a Smart Thermostat. 🤪👎
That's a great point! It's important to know your limits and when to call in a professional for certain tasks. Safety should always be the top priority.
Mr Homeowner would not get such a complete service call from a lot of companies. My complements Mike. I’d never worked with those early WR gas valves, good information shared here. Embarrassed to admit I looked right at that circ on the water heater and it didn’t click that was wrong until you mentioned it. I know better and it still got past me. 🥹
Hey there! Thanks a bunch for your comment. I'm really glad you found the video helpful. Don't worry, we all make mistakes sometimes. The important thing is that you learned from it, right? Keep up the great work, and remember, I'm always here to provide you with more useful information. Cheers!

Hi Mike have you ever did a video on upgrading a 2 wire Thermostat to a 3 wire smart Thermostat ?
No
@@PipeDoctor like to see you do one specially if you have the wires run already but your only using 2 of them
Think I'd dig having that doormat out here in SoCal brother!
That would be cool!
Can you please tell me where Peter went?
Another truck
Dang it Mike. Your constant use of the wake word gave my Alexa a seizure and she had to shut down.
Amen 🙏 you’re welcome
hey mike cool video and you know your stuff
At least i pretend to know what I’m talking about:)
thanks
mercury pilot system? its been a minute since ive seen one of those...
Yes, the mercury pilot system is definitely a blast from the past! It's always fun to revisit old technology and see how far we've come since then.

Dam you Mike you all most had my Alexa to order a tv from you by saying hey Alexa.
😂
Atleast the home owner admitted he screwed up
Did Peter get his own van?!
No
Is Peter still with Pipe doctor?
My father is in this video!
Looks like your father stole the show in this video!

He sure did. He tried his best yet failed miserably:)
MIKEY PIPES!!!!!!! 15:26 that drip pocket it too short!!!!!
Haha, you've got a keen eye for fashion faux pas! I'll have to make sure my drip pockets are on point next time.

2 problems
1. DIY Joe Homeowner
2. Smart Thermostats in general
honeywell is top of the line.
Honeywell for the win!
Mike my alexia started speaking to me in Spanish after your request
lol
Love the Sarcasm when Speaking of the Pathetic City of New York. 😬👍
Ah, New York City, the city that never sleeps...and apparently never stops being pathetic! But hey, sarcasm is my specialty.
Wheres peter? Is he solo?
With @DCHVAC
Hard to tell in the video, but that Hartford loop looks too low.
Haha, you've got a keen eye! I must admit, I had a tough time with that Hartford loop. It's like trying to find Waldo in a sea of pipes!
Is this Peter's replacement?
Haha, no one can truly replace Peter! Jose was hired as a Plumbing & HVAC Technician who will be riding solo next week in a truck.

boo, wire wrapped around screw backwards at 3:53 remember always wrap around clockwise.
Oops! Looks like I need to work on my wire-wrapping skills. Thanks for catching that hilarious mistake!
@@PipeDoctor think it was Jose's hands/doing. think it got wrapped back the right way not long after. but i forget now a day and 300+ wires later(lol)
Oh boy new nickname time LOL
Yup!
your the kinkg pipes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love your spanish
Looks like my Spanish skills have won you over! Thanks for the compliment and keep watching for more entertaining content.
Jose's nick name is "Mikes Bodyguard". Bc he looks like your security lol.
Well, if anyone messes with me, they'll have to get through Jose first! Safety first, right?
I think thats a winner. just have to frame it right. You should embroider hvac tech/security on his shirt lol. @@PipeDoctor
When you said alexa, mine started speaking Spanish.
lol
@@PipeDoctor seriously if you play that part next to an alexa it will start talking.
so from frankie 2 time to jose tres maybe? lol
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your comment.
You put the loop on thermostat wire on backwards. Lol
Oops! Looks like I need to go back to Thermostat Wiring 101. Thanks for catching that hilarious mistake!
Those thermostats suck I feel like the Home Depot ones and those suck they aren’t made as better as the ones from the hvac supply house
Oh no, thermostat wars! Who knew this would be such a heated topic? 😉
I never use the hot water side for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth. Too much nasty stuff in a hot water tank.
Who needs hot water when you can just use ice cubes for everything? Just kidding! But I totally get where you're coming from.
469 thumbs up
Smart Thermostats have a Single Word to Describe them, “Nuisance”. 🤪👎
Ah, the love-hate relationship with smart thermostats! They can be a bit like that quirky roommate who always messes with the temperature. But hey, at least they save energy and money, right?
Oohh face. Oh momma
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah like someone that does not know 24 Vac exist, not 24v DC
