I've really liked how a lot of the pools in the homes in Thailand are tiled, it's so much more beautiful and it must feel nicer than the coarse plaster option.

You can't walk to the beach really, but it's literally 5-10 minutes journey by car :), there are also some restaurants around but boat avenue is a 5 minute drive away
