The chicken looked absolutely awesome Jeff. Nice and juicy. Great cook. Looks like the beer can chicken holder needs a top handle to go in the Char Broil cooker to put in and take out easier.
I never saw you check the birds temperture. How did you know it was done? I just got a big Easy and I am so anxious to try it! Thank you for the great video.
Great question. I always check with a digital thermometer. 165 F in the thickest part of the beast. We don't always show every step because it can make the video longer than some folks want to watch.
I'm preheating my Big Easy, right this second and I got a bird on standby. I don't have the nice beer stand that you have though. That seems like it'll help with removing the chicken. I've done a few before. Not being able to remove the bird gets frustrating. I'll have to spring for that nice stand you got.
I made this today and it works well. Instead of the metal can I just used the beer can. One less item to clean! It cooks very fast. I did 1 hour 20 minutes and I thought it was almost over cooked. I've always used a charcoal Old Smokey and it cooks much slower.
Congrats on your new cooker! My tip is to stay away from using the lid because the outside of the meat gets overdone before the inside. Only time I use the lid is when I want to get a little darker during the last 15 to 20 minutes of the cook or if it's really cold out.
When temp checking, pull the meat out and check the lowest part of it. My thanksgiving turkey was done on the breast (which was positioned highest) but not done, even bloody on the thighs which sat lower. Also if the air temp when cooking is below 50F, use the lid for the entire cook otherwise it’s just for browning if air temps are warmer.
Meant to ask you a question far as babybacks go in the Big Easy. Will it give the ribs the same taste as it does coming off the grill? That's the only way I eat rib but always used charcoal instead of propane.
What i do with my beer cans is? make bees wax torches out of them. Use a rope or cloth for a wick. Simple to make fine a stick, broom handle ect take the beer can and tie it with bailing wire around the can and stick. tight. top and bottom. then make a wick > use a piece of wire to hold the wick in the middle. from rounded up cloth, or a cotton rope. and fill the beer can up with melted bees wax. Now you got some cheap and easy made patio torches ~ Runs out? make another wick and refill it with melted bees wax
It looks like it came out super tender and juicy. I don't have a BIG Easy, but obviously the recipe is adaptable to pretty much any type of grill/smoker that you may have. Most will also give you the option of adding smoke to the flavor profile. Why is it that beer can chicken looks so appealing; even though its posture so strongly suggests that it is concentrating hard on taking a dump? Once you think about it, you can't unsee it.
With this kind of method you don't really need to inject the chicken, the moist from the can it's enough to make the chicken juicy, it's just a suggestion, I tried it a few weeks ago and it came out soft, tender and moist...anyway job well done....
Not sure what you are "supposed" to do, but I do it this way all the time for chicken, turkey and pork butt, and it always turns out great. Try it both ways and let me know what you think.
I think I made a great garage sell find. I paid $15 for it and it came with a full propane tank! I love your videos, however, I am appalled at how people handle food. Touching the chicken with the seasoning container, handling it back and forth, most of the videos on line (not quite sure about yours) I see people taking a piece of meat from the kitchen to the Big Easy walking through the house or doing it outdoors on the ground with an unclean surface. I'm not a germaphobe, it just irks me to no end to see how people handle food and post it on RUclips. lol
Nice, glad to see that you started adding the written recipe in the descriptions.
Yea, we were planning to put the recipes on our blog. Requires another hour or two of work and just can't seem to find the time.
I might just have to add a Big Easy to my list of cookers! That looked amazing.
You can get these on sale sometimes for just $79
Very nice. Yet again the fryer works perfectly!
Thank you Lasse. It's a great cooker for chicken.
RESIN! My most favorite IPA on the planet. Not always the easiest to find in my area consistently. Great recipe.
Okay, so I don't drink IPA, but after reading your comment I popped one of these (it's a double IPA). It was so bad, I had a second one.
I have found that a REDD'S WICKED APPLE (8% ALCOHOL) is fantastic to cook with.
That came out looking so good! I love the basket for the chicken - so cool :)
Thanks so much Chef Alicia.

Great idea!
Chicken turned out perfect and juicy. Nice job Jeff
Thanks Phil. I'm not an IPA guy, but it did add a nice flavor to the chicken.

You are spot on. Does help with removing the chicken.
WOW..looks nice and moist too....YUM YUM

Glad you liked it!
Great looking bird!
Wow that’s a Gorgeous Beer Can Chicken Jeff!!
Thank you Ellen!
Looks outstanding. Was about to do a whole chicken in my Big Easy so perfect timing!
Big Easy rocks the chicken!
Just bought the Big Easy...still in the box. So glad I found you on You Tube. Ready to try something now. Any hints for first time user?

@@jasoncarpenter7007 Good tips Jason. Like you said, when it is warm definitely don't use the lid at the beginning of the cook.
IPA all day! That chicken looks amazing
Survival Mindset I was totally surprised how the IPA flavor was all in the chicken.
It really gives a good soaking and brings out the flavor nice. Glazing IPA Yum
Being from San Antonio... I'm going to try this with Shiner Bock.
I bet that will be awesome.
I loved the sound of the birds in the background. What type of bird makes that beautiful sound?
We have a crap ton of Ahingas and Muscovy ducks here.
I just rewatched. That's a mockingbird.
@@Armadillopepper Thank you. It's song was wonderful. Oh, and your video too!
Very nice, thx for vid.
Thanks for the feedback John.
I could hear the dog in the background, he wanted some of that bad boy. Lol
She got some too!
@@Armadillopepper Oh, it's a she, my bad!
And see got some too!
Now worries. She'll never know 😃.

Hope you are not getting stung too much!
@@Armadillopepper play with fire your going to get stung. I just try not to get beat up on to bad
Nice 1
Thanks
Man....... I could eat that every day Jeff!!! Great looking chicken!!! Oooozing with flavor!
Hard to beat chicken in the oil-less fryer. Thanks Rob.

You crack me up Mr. handacannon! 😆😀😂
Nicely done
Thanks my friend. We appreciate your continued support!
Where do you find the beer can kit?
You can buy them at the large sporting goods stores and Amazon.
Its the same kit that you can put on the grill???
Where can I get a beer Can accessory for my Big Easy Oil Less Turkey Fryer?
Several places sell them. I believe the one I have is sold on Amazon. It's the Steve Raichlen brand.
where did you get the beer can accessory that fit the big easy?
I don't remember where I got mine, but Amazon sells it. Google Steven Raichlen beer can chicken holder.
Seriously juicy chicken! How much beer was left in the can?
Sweet 16 my Bro!
Where is the best place to temp probe the chicken for doneness?
I always check the thick part of each breast. Sometimes even a 3rd location just to make sure.

Where can I get that chicken stand?
On our website www.armadillopepper.com/collections/grill-tools-bbq-accessories/products/steve-raichlen-beer-can-chicken-roaster
That chicken looks 🔥🔥🔥
Thank ya'!
Could you do this with a turkey?
Yes, but you would need to make sure the turkey didn't touch the sides of the cooker (because the turkey would burn)
I was wondering where you got the beer can accessory for the big easy?
Home Depot or lowes
how much beer was left the holder ?
Less than half evaporated.
i should say the basket for the chicken
The basket came with the Big Easy, but you can buy those on Amazon. They have a new folding model that I have which is great for chicken.
You injected thru the skin. I thought you weren’t suppose to break the skin so the injection does t leak out. The injection doesn’t leak out??
Not sure what you are "supposed" to do, but I do it this way all the time for chicken, turkey and pork butt, and it always turns out great. Try it both ways and let me know what you think.
Truss the bird with some string and the wing tips will be okay!
Thanks for the suggestion.

That is an awesome price. It cost me $20 just for the propane refill.
