    Honestly i think this is actually more balanced than most give it credit for, its not like you can just press 3 to pull out the shovel, or a bright light, you have to open the bag, drop the item from the bag, then pick it up and use it, say a snare flea just got your friend, or you are being chased by a loot bug, you don't have time to drop and then pick up the shovel.
    And as for stuff like flashlights where you need to have them out to be useful, you are only really saving space on the return trip, rather that inside the building.

      Yeah and also I don't think is a good idea to be holding this much because everything you got in that bag will be in that bag so your gonna lose all of that stuff if you die and also you can't hold scrap item except ammo

      @@Borapaws it would probably not be worth buying at that point, it's already a hard sell for $45 because many pro players/teams can already full clear or almost full clear maps without this, and this isn't really helping them because they don't need stun grenades or flashlights often anyway, they mostly just use weapons and jetpacks which you can bring in 1 trip with a jetpack anyway. It has use cases, but it is not as good as people think it is because it costs money, weighs 16 pounds so you can't really carry it around with you as you explore unless you want to be slower, takes up a slot, and can be stolen by loot bugs and baboon hawks. I could see it being limited to 10-12 slots maybe, but 4-6 is way too few for this to be any good.

      Snareflea takes quite a bit to kill a player, and it would only take about 3 seconds to open it and pull out the shovel if you put it in the corner. I think there is still some use for the bag inside the complex

    I think the use case for this is one person brings a bag and leaves it at the door. When leaving everyone drops off their flashlights, shovels, walkies, keys, etc. into the bag. There's been many times where we leave our shovels and flashlights to bring more scrap back (and usually we dont have a chance to return for those items)

      If there was a flashlight slot in vanilla I'm not convinced anyone would be angry about it.
      But as always, play however you want. But subjectively, it's more fun to see where you're going than not

    It being able to store shells and keys but not knives and shotguns is pretty telling of how it works: anything that gives 0 credits when sold can be put into the bag. Yes, keys do actually sell for 0 despite saying they have a value of 3.

      High quota-ers already stuff their inventory with items to drop down at main entrance for use (notably jetpacks, lockpickers, tzp, and a weapon). Sorting up a bag with all the resources you could need will be huge. Bringing a boombox to distract slimes, a ladder for easy traversion / wall clipping, stun grenades to make quick escapes from monsters, and flashlights that you wouldn't have bothered bringing in favor of better items, you can now use as a light and an easy throwaway for scrap with no downsides to taking one
      Not to mention you can easily gather up all the tools you brought still at the entrances, and fly it to the ship at the end of the day using a jetpack and maybe even a few scrap pieces since you'd have 2 other slots

    You still waste an inventory slot wich means less scrap and it's inconvenient to use in a pinch
    If you're attacked by something, you can't just whip out a shovel and defend yourself since it's in the bag

    Putting Belt Bags with Belt Bags sounds like a great idea, like I can picture players feeling so clever when they figure it out and fits with the overall comedy of the game. I can just picture someone with frantically going through fanny packs while being chased by a giant in an attempt to find the right bag with the grenades!
    Also I think it would be funny if there was a chance of something really bad happening when you put a belt bag within a belt bag, the chances of this event happening increases the more bags you have nested within them.

    I don't think its OP, since you still will need to buy all of the items first (which you wont do in early to mid game), and if you want to use them, take them out of the bag and equip them. This already makes offensive items (Shovel, zap gun, stun grenade, etc,) pretty much worthless to carry in the bag. Flashlight and Walkie are also useless for the bag, for the same reason. I think Zeekers wants to encourage players to goof around a bit with other items in late game, which the fanny pack is for. The only thing I think should be removed is the ability to put a fanny pack in another fanny pack, other than that it looks like a pretty good addition, especially since the cruiser and jetpack are so unreliable (for bad players like me).

      @@danielva9309 Yeah and that is good, since 70 percent of items are not used as of right now. And if zeekers decides to add more equipment in the future, this is as of now the best and most reliable way to play with other equipment than the mandatory ones (the cruiser is too unreliable imo). People overblow the usefullness of the fanny pack way too much.

    This is a somewhat useful item but it'd be better if he implemented a 'Holster' (ie ReservedItemSlots mod) that allows you to utilize the tools without taking up inventory space. The fact that you can't use the tools while wearing the bag does not solve the problem of people not wanting to use tools because they take up too much inventory.
    In 100s of hours of playing, I've never seen one vanilla player bring a walkie-talkie. Something like 50-70% of people don't bother with a flashlight. I'm the only one who brings spray paint and that's only because I use ReservedItemSlots and am willing to sacrifice 1 item slot for the spray paint.

    fun ideas i have:
    - belt bag should make a noise on occasion. drop the bag to avoid taking damage from the bag biting you. when the bag is dropped in this state, it consumes a random item inside of itself. it can hold a wider variety of items. this allows the bag to be well a bag, at the cost of your maximum scrap potential.
    - the bag should explode if you try to put another bag inside of it. this both prevents bag stacking and allows lethal company trolls to have an on-command bomb

    I actually really like the Belt Bag stacking, it's useful for organising but it's also a great trolling tool to annoy your coworkers, might want to make it the weight increases even if it's only slightly or something just to make it a little more balanced or something?
    Man-eaters don't have a value so I'm hoping that if it goes off of that then you can put one in the bag :v

    The design of the bag makes me wish for a Mimic type of monster, disguising itself as an abandonned bag... Imagine going to open the bag and seeing corpses stored inside, just to get swallowed whole the moment after.

    i think the reson that you can put shalls in the blet is because zeekers wanted a way of holding lots of shalls for the shotgun

    I think this sort of thing would do well as a ship upgrade type of shop item. One where you buy it and it's a part of your character for the remainder of the run. Give it a dedicated slot like the extra slot mods, and instead of weighing 16 by default it just halves or quarters the weight of anything inside it.
    Make it do all that and cost like 250-300 and I'd call that a great addition. I also would love extra purchasable inventory slots for scrap items that get steadily more expensive the more slots you buy. Just give us a greater sense of progression in the run.

    If you can put a bag with contents in a bag. That means you can guaranteed crash the game. Especially if it's not implemented optimalty, a single bag can take up a lot of memory on your computer.
    It'll probably be patched such that you cannot put bags with contents inside bags
    Also the bag overflow is probably not intentional. Likely just that the inventory is a list backend and when you pick up an item it is appended to the list. And the first 15 are displayed. So the list will probably be limited to 15 entries

    The way I see it, the best use for this is returning to the ship.
    Just have everyone take in walkies or shovels or whatever they want, then pack it all up before heading back to the ship.

    I anticipated this would be added. However, I figured it would have one slot for each specific items, (Shovel, Flashlight, Walkie-talkie, Lockpick, etc.) All the stuff that people usually only bring 1 or 2 of, due to inventory limitation. Pretty sure a lot of things here are going to be patched.

    It is in beta so I'm sure there's going to be a few changes to it, like the mentioned shotgun not being able to go into the bag, the knife not being able to is likely due to a bit of logic, I mean it is a blade, last thing you want to be doing is reaching into a bag blindly and end up grabbing the blade part of a knife or having said part poking holes in your bag.

      I feel like that's just completely unnecessary, a lot of stuff in the game doesn't make sense. Like you can hold a nuclear reactor and not get irradiated. 50 tons of steel (The Old Bird) can get dropped on top of you and you survive that? You can get hit point blank with a rocket and survive but if it hits the ground next to your feet, you die instantly? Also, shotgun shouldn't be able to go in the bag for balancing reasons I feel like, along with other bags.

      @@Jatotz Yeah no thanks, because I had to clean knifes at a few of my jobs and the very last thing you want to do is reach blindly for a knife in soap water, that's how you get hurt (and for the added context for LC only, there's mods that have monsters only spawn IF you get hurt, like the shark mob that Max and his group are calling "Bruce" since the shark only spawns "when it smells fresh blood"

    I’m surprised how no one is talking about having a dedicated tool hoarder now. Like he takes the bag and gives out tools when needed and when everyone is ready to leave with inventories full of scrap. The tool hoarder then puts all the unnecessary tools back into the bag for the haul back.

    honestly, i think the idea is cool, but in my opinion it can probably be executed better.
    here's my idea, i wanna hear your guys's thoughts on it:
    a backpack, attached to it are 2 magnets. while on the ground, if you're holding a magnetic item and press E on one of the magnets, it'll attach itself to the magnet. this works with many items. this includes walkies, shovels, flashlights, lockpickers, keys, or anything else that would make sense, as well as scrap. you can also use the backpack to carry two handed scrap, however BOTH magnetic slots will need to be open. once attaching your objects, you can pick it up as you usually do and press left click, where your character will play a quick animation of them putting it on. once it is on you, other players can remove stuff from the magnets, but you can drop it by pressing G while you have nothing equipped to grab stuff from the magnets.
    the item can be purchased only from the shop for 600. it weights 20 lbs + the weight of anything you put on the back. it's 2 handed. (and no, you can't attach a backpack to a backpack.) while something is attached, it makes a low magnetic hummm. this means, be careful by dogs, because if you get too close with the backpack they'll hear you.
    the idea of the item is to help run scrap back to the ship rather than bring tools inside, as it weighs quite a bit. instead, i aim for players to maybe bring an extra tool inside the facility for their teammates to grab off of them in an emergency, like a shovel, or cut in half how many trips you have to make by being able to carry two 2-handed scrap at once.
    edit: im also considering the backpack having a battery which drains more or less depending on the WEIGHT of the item on the back, in exchange decreasing the weight of the backpack itself in this idea.

    I think they could reduce the slots of the bag and make the bag not counting on the main slots. Like you have to toogle a button to open it/close it and drop.

    I feel like this belt bag is going to get heavily nerfed, definitely should only give like 2-4 item spaces and imo should only be smaller items (basically not a shovel, although if it's allowed then fair)
    If I was a dev I'd try to make it add just more inventory slots that have restrictions on what they can hold and easily swap to, but for all I know that's way harder to code then it sounds

    I think it's better to have like 6 items in it, and be it extra cheap. Of course no bag inside a bag when items are in it. Even if it's technically possible to implement, doesn't mean it provides a balance.

    Here’s an idea for a scrap bag:
    It can hold tons of scrap but all scrap gets 10-25% added weight
    Depending on the bag’s weight you would take more fall damage and could perform a slam by falling on an enemy or coworker (maybe 1 dmg per 75 lbs?)

    Idk how I feel about this, I really like the idea, but having that many slots of space, while being completely weightless is insanely overpowered. You pretty much wouldn't need to make decisions about what to take with you at all, you'd just store everything you need in the bag and have stuff ready when the time comes.

    Zeekers should add a mid-game modular ship attachment that allows for shop items to be delivered while in orbit. Of course you'd have to purchase it for a high price.

    I think its just a good buff for underused items, like regularly bringing radar boosters/lockpickers/boomboxes into the facility is suddenly (maybe) viable since its no longer a bunch of weight and you don't have to make extra trips to bring them back.
    I'd guess it's going to be reworked before release though cuz it feels really... janky? atm

    Honestly, the belt bag would be useful for teams because having one guy who just hauls around equipment would be nice.
    My idea for improvement.
    You can up _some_ scarp into the belt bag. Namely, 0 weight, one-handed scrap, so things like plastic fish, teeth, and so on. This might actually be how its implemented.
