    My bike runs, but I hear a loud clicking noise at irregular intervals that sounds like your click around 1:20. I think maybe my decomp is worn out. I'm going to take it apart and just do a top end job. I've never done one before, but I think this is a great engine for a beginner since it's relatively simple (with quirks, I know).

    My 400 was making a loud ticking noise at low speeds after about 2 blocks of riding. I put a cam in without the acr and the noise went away. My bike starts fine without it but ince in a while the first revolution is slow. I plugged the oil holes under the ACR with aluminum rods pounded in.

    Excellent Video! This Helps me understand what is going on. on my 400x, when I tore it down the spring, and the pin were not there, so I did not know why the quad started as well as it did, but now I see that did not help with starting, but I do have A Question, since my Pin, and Spring are Missing, should I be ok to put everything back together like it was? Thanks again for such a great video!

    so the xr650l can be push started just as easy as an xr650r. leaving the switch off rolling in 2nd or 3rd gear and then hit the switch while it's turning over?

    When u adjusted valve first time and noticed it was loose what did u do? I tried tightening while I guess the decomp is engaged and hand turned, was making a bad knock idk what it was lol

    Hi, thanks for this video, great to learn how this works. i am having difficulties starting my XR600 when hot and i am wondering if it is the auto decompression system failing. I have lost the auto decomp 'click' for TDC that i used to have, so wondering if something within the system has failed? thanks!

    May want to update title. My 96 XR250R has the decompression lever/mechanism. You'd get more hits. I think my spring loaded pin is stuck.

    Is there something I can add to the oil to get this to free up. I have a Rincon 650 and makes it hard to start. Assuming it operates similar

    • @NNKH2
      @NNKH2  2 года назад

      Not really. If it has an issue best to take it apart in diagnose why.

    Do you have to change rocker arms when changing cam?

    • @NNKH2
      @NNKH2  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah it's a good idea too. But I've definitely replaced a can without changing the rockers before and it was fine

  • @LuberthDijkman

    Weld maybe better to replace all by a bushing to cover the oil hole

    Is a "skoush" bigger or smaller than a c♡¿t hair??

    • @bikerrider4845
      @bikerrider4845 3 года назад +3

      The word skosh comes from the Japanese word sukoshi, which is pronounced "skoh shee" and means "a tiny bit" or "a small amount." The Japanese word was shortened by U.S. servicemen stationed in Japan after World War II.

    • @shoechew

      I think it depends on the color of the hair.

    My decompression is not working, I’m assuming that this is the reason why.
    It’s a 1995 with 5800 miles, that’s pretty disappointing service for a Honda.
