Morten Harket deserves way more appreciation and recognition for his singing skills!
Yes, would be nice if people focused less on his looks and more on his actual singing talent too.

@@HighFashionQueen People can notice, but his looks don’t have to be the first and/or only thing they talk about. Notice his looks in your head (it’s not like it has to be acknowledged out loud or written in comments. Pretty much the whole world already knows he’s a good looking man. Also, I doubt there are any new words or phrases at this point that would be new in explaining his looks. 🙃🤷🏻♀️😂)and then pay the man a compliment about his singing or even about how intelligent he actually really is. It’s about respecting him. He hates it that the first thing with most people is his looks. Hates that it really has to be brought up at all.
I recommend a few things for people who have a hard time getting past his looks.
1. Watch a-ha the movie and see what being made the sex object of the band, as well as on his own, has done to him as well as what it has done to Magne and Pål. You know, really, all three of them were very good looking guys when they started out. They still are. The music industry used Morten as an object to sell the band. The media and fans sucked it up and made it worse. We have all been brainwashed and still to this day get brainwashed with every photo and video we stare at with Morten being pushed as the sex object.
2. When the thoughts about how good looking he is start to take over, remember he’s a 63 year old man with 5 kids, and a grandkid now, I believe. Two of those kids are teenage daughters. He’s been in a serious relationship with the same woman for almost 18 years and she is the mother of his youngest daughter. Would you be able to say whatever your first thoughts of Morten are to his daughters or Inez? Would it be better to say how hot he is or tell them how talented or intelligent he is?
3. When watching a RUclips video with Morten in it, close your eyes and just listen. Listen to his amazing voice. If it’s a-ha, listen to the music and Magne and Pål’s voices as well. Trust me, you’re going to easily get lost in the music and start noticing ALL of their talents more than looks.
4. With interviews with Morten and/or a/ha, close your eyes and listen again. They are all so creative and interesting. You can hear the intelligence in Morten when you’re not busy staring at him.
5. Read interviews, articles, etc. with Morten. Get to know him as a person and not just a pin up from videos and photos.

He’s also done a ton of charity work too.
6. Stop watching a-ha videos that have Morten as the sex object and/or main focus. Watch ones where he is completely dressed at least and Pål and Magne have equal time. (A-ha live at NRK 1991 is perfect)
7.Start reading all the comments people leave and see the avalanche of comments on Morten’s looks alone. Think about how that is just RUclips and not any other social networks. Now imagine all those comments on ALL the social networks. Add onto that ALL the images and videos of Morten as a pin up object and not a person. Check out all the fan clubs just for Morten. All the people in the world obsessed with Morten and how he looks. Think of how that all adds up and weighs on him and his family.
Hey, I am a straight woman, I know. I was once that way when I was a teenager and a lot through my life. If I caught a video or photo of him, my first thoughts or first comment was how hot he was, beautiful, etc.
The documentary really slapped me in the face as well as many others with reality.
This all takes some practice. We’re human beings and it is a natural instinct to be sucked into the beautiful stuff and have our brains ooze out of our ears. 😂 However, it is NOT impossible to show some restraint and switch up our responses and ways of thinking. Instead of wasting five minutes or hours (some people are pretty bad) staring at Morten as an object, take the time to do some of the things above instead.
The three have given us so much and they really have gone through some stuff. They gave up a lot to give us so many amazing gifts. Sure, they have lots of money for it, but still, they gave up so much for it. Their families and loved ones also gave up a lot, many weren’t even in the decision. We should do better and respect them more.

@@shelld1261 i agree; I ve been a-ha fan since the beginning, coming from Norway myself. They are a great band, they would never got this far if it wasn t for they music; i love their songs and allof the boys. I also think that Morten is tired of the comments about his looks because it s nothing he can do about, that s just something he is born with. He is a beautuful man, he is, but a- ha and the music is a differentstory and nothing to do with his good looks❤️
Well said and so true...may they all 3 live out the rest of their lives in good health and much happiness with their families...they deserve peace, quiet and relaxation from the world and privacy..
