    Set up!!, As a real motor mechanic and someone who has worked on Mercedes many times, they have just undone the injector pipes and let air in the system, then tighten them up, which needs the engine to turn a few times to prime the system then all works ok. Plus the noise on tick over (a sort of low pitch rattle) is the pulley on the alternator which has seized, these engines need a one way pulley so the belt does not jump, in the end this engine will destroy the the belt and the tensioner after a few thousand Km's. if it's already done that by the sound of it.

      Upon revving you can hear that the engine sounds smooth and not rattly that means the oil is doing is job well , its not going to harm the engine that much doing it every now and then it will actually clean the oil channels and burn off deposits, but if you rev the hell out of it everyday then yes it will die faster.

    Get him to put in a new starter next :). Also new engine mounts cant be a bad idea and you know the belt chirps pretty good too. Is there supposed to be a radiator shroud or is that bare fan factory? That intake piping looks jerryrigged and will blow apart soon probably.

    • @Boosted00
      @Boosted00 2 года назад +57

      Engine mounts? lol I don't think they care about that stuff as long as the engine is still sitting in the engine bay 😅. Squeeky belts? HA, that's to let them know the belt is still in place and spinning lol.
      That missing cap on the rad overflow might be an issue, i think the coolant system is supposed to be a pressurized system. But hey, it's running 😁👍

      To me it sounds like a flooded engine so my guess is that the fuel to air ratio is way, way off. Opening the throttle and cranking the engine probably cleared it.

      They smacked on the fuel pump with a wrench to try to get it to kick on. then tightened down the fuel rail. Was loose probably from them trying to clear some fuel out, then they gave it the beansssss

    • @El_Corno
      @El_Corno 2 года назад +21

      it's a diesel, he just bleed the air off the fuel lines (between the fuel pump and the injectors) kinda simple process, i used to do this on tractors and old trucks in the farm

    • @ewerest9914
      @ewerest9914 2 года назад +2

      Air was in a fuel pump and it made fail to good pressure at the fuel line. Hand pumping through with getting out the air from the all fuel injection system have got result to a certain time, then air will accumulate slowly at the pump and the problem will returns again.
