  • Well, it happened again. The normal light on my Samsung Dishwasher (Model DW80M2020US) started flashing, indicating that there was excess water collecting in the drip pan. Whereas in my other troubleshooting video, I found that the issue was a jammed impeller, in this instance the issue was a broken Water Inlet Valve (DD81-02265A).
    Here's a link to the website where I got it from. I'm not sponsored by them or anything. They were just one of the few online sources I found that had the part for a decent price. Let me know in the comments section below if you find any other decent sources.
    Please exercise extreme caution when working on appliances like these. Always make sure the power is completely cut off. Always consult a professional before attempting to repair electrical appliances.
    Thanks for taking the time to check out my video, I really appreciate it. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions or you'd just like to say, "Hello." I'll comment back within a day. Take care everybody and be safe.

    After using my Samsung dishwasher regularly for 3.5 years it ended up faulted same as you r dishwasher. Ordered the exact part disclosed in your video and replaced and put back together in under an hour. The part ended up costing me $85 Canadian. Although if I had bought it from Samsung directly it was going to be $165 Canadian…almost double. Hope this helps someone like your video helped me thank you so much!!

      Excellent question. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter for the polarity, especially if the wires are the same color. • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад +1

      It looks like the same type of part, a water inlet valve, so the general process of replacing it should be comparable. I would just advise making sure that the part you buy is compatible with your specific dishwasher.

  • @looch789

    Hey mine is leaking too . Just curious did your float sensor get triggered when it leaked?
    Because mine didn’t and am trying to figure out where the leak is coming from. Is it possible to have the water inlet valve leak and not have the float sensor activate?

    • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад

      It's possible for a hose or component to be damaged, and for water to be leaking from there even if the sensor doesn't get tripped. The sensor only trips when the drip pan gets filled. It's good you were able to find the leak before it got to the point of filling the tray and possibly spilling over.

    HELPFUL TIP: tuen off water supply at valves under sink and Lay down a few heavy towels on the floor before turning dishwasher on its side as a good amount of water will leak onto floor from drip pan and drain line and water supply line.

    Great video! My Samsung fills with water with electricity turned off. DW80K7050US, is it the valve or something else.

    • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад +1

      Hi Jack, interesting. There are a couple of things that could cause that to happen. What does the water look like? Is it clean and clear or does it look cloudy with food particles in it? If it's clear, chances are there's an issue with the water inlet valve. If it's cloudy with food particles, it's possible that your sink drain or garbage disposal unit might be partially clogged and creating back-flow into your dishwasher drain tube.

    • @jackklingensmith6703
      @jackklingensmith6703 Год назад +1

      @@karatefox it's clear, I turned hot water valve under sink off which supplies dishwasher and problem stopped. When it has power and I start a cycle the drain clears the unit into disposal. That all seems fine

    • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад +1

      @Jack Klingensmith Interesting, it sounds like the water inlet valve is likely the issue. Have you tried replacing it? Likewise, have you checked to see if the tubing might be damaged?

      @@karatefox any idea where to get the inlet valve or what part to buy

    • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад +1

      @Jack Klingensmith I did a quick Google search of your dishwasher model and the phrase 'water inlet valve' and got several hits. Here's one of them: www.genuinereplacementparts.com/samsung-dw80k7050us-aa-water-inlet-valve-genuine-oem
      I'm not affiliated with or sponsored by them in any way, but it looks like that's probably the correct part for your unit. When I ordered mine, possibly from a different online vendor, I think the price was about the same. As a general guideline, I would verify their return policy just in case the part doesn't quite fit or solve the issue. Likewise, if you could find a local parts provider, I'd go with them first just so customer care is faster and whatnot. Please let me know how it goes.

      Hi Jelissa, that's a good question. I've owned this dishwasher for about 3 years and this is the first time I've had to replace this part. I'm not too sure how long they last, but I would expect it to last another 3-5 years with normal use. 🤔💡

  • @primecalibur

    Probably would have helped a lot just by tipping the dishwasher the other way so the water wouldn't have gravity pulling it towards any wires 😅

    • @karatefox

      That would've made a lot more sense, probably a lot safer 😅

    • @primecalibur

      @@karatefox I had this issue, but after getting all the way to seeing the valve leak, it just stopped leaking after turning the water on/off/on...so just running it cautiously, but expecting it to fail again and have to replace the valve - not really sure how a leak fixes itself but I'm not familiar with that valves mechanism either.

    • @karatefox
      @karatefox  Год назад +1

      @@primecalibur Interesting. Is it possible that some tubing or wires were pressing against the side of the valve? I think the solenoid housing is pretty delicate and if something is pressing against it continuously, that might be causing a leak. Happy it's working for you now, but if it was me, I'd still want to order a replacement valve just in case the system does breakdown completely.
