We try to work out what is going on with the help of the drone when a construction worker comes out telling us we are not allowed to fly the drone over.

A punch in the mouth temporarily cures it, but often attracts more attention. Why anyone would risk getting a kicking to "protect" the view of their company from public baffles me.
There's quite a large body of psychological research on this.
Just for starters:
Bickman (1974) also investigated the power of uniform in a field experiment conducted in New York. Bickman used three male actors: one dressed as a milkman; one dressed as a security guard; and one dressed in ordinary clothes. The actors asked members of the public to following one of three instructions: pick up a bag; give someone money for a parking metre; and stand on the other side of a bus stop sign which said ‘no standing’.
On average the guard was obeyed on 76% of occasions, the milkman on 47% and the pedestrian on 30%. These results all suggest that people are more likely to obey, when instructed by someone wearing a uniform. This is because the uniform infers a sense of legitimate authority and power

I will never understand why people think you can't film what's happening through a wired fence from a public road. Also I would presume if I started talking to someone who seems to know the rules actually does, especially if they had a camera filming me
Not really mind boggling. If someone was filming through the fence at your home/work, you would probably find it wierd. The problem is it isn't illegal, so nothing they can do. But not surprising it annoys a lot of them.

@@777rogerf Perfectly fine for a 250g drone over residential property. And no law stopping recording of private property as long as it isn't for malicious reasons. Could just be a 'garden audit youtuber' peering through holes in fences. Let's face it, we just watch this for the reactions, but to say it's mind boggling that people react is just silly. Me too. Was wondering why DJ was so relaxed about the possibility of him stomping on the drone. Then i thought about it and concluded that DJ would probably make more in RUclips income from all the views the video would get than the cost of the drone. He would also have the video evidence to take the guy to court and claim the cost of a new drone back (and this would make another video and more money).

I think you take a big risk leaving your drone on the ground whilst talking to someone who is not happy. Previous experience should tell you that the police would be less than helpful when you complain about a squashed drone. 😢

This demonstrates why, no matter what some people might think, your videos are important. Some people have such an odd perspective of the world. No concept of real ownership, rights and responsibilities that they are the ones who make things difficult for the rest of us. Remember, these people vote and put views across with this mindset that ultimately supports everything owned and controlled by corporations.
The default is you can do anything. It should be up to them to have to show you, on demand the legislation or other reasons why you are forbidden from 'flying that drone over our property'. If it's that clear and obvious, they should be able to show you immediately.
You do know DJ is not really interested in the audit don't you?
I performed a radio coverage survey at a publically accessible park for a client the other week. The client is the organiser at "one of the big music festivals". The rep they sent asked me if I had a hi viz vest whilst looking at the steel toe cap boots I was wearing - She was wearing open-toe sandals and a summer dress.
They have an obsessive COMPULSION to instill their will on others, and when challenged, they claim it is for "Health and Safety" or "for insurance purposes".
As you say, these dullards not only vote, but often form part of committiees which steer future parliamentary debates, and ultimately, legislation.
Frightening, considering just how seriously they take "distruption".
If someone can't string a coherent sentence together, I simply can't offer them any respect.

I'm sure this is a proper recycling centre they are testing / upgrading. But years back had a huge warehouse site that someone had infilled the undercoft with 2000 lorry loads of building waste and poured a slab on top of it. We did multiple tests on it and the engineer condemned it as completely unstable. Wire, wood, concrete topsoil all mixed together settles at different rates over time and the slab drops. They typically use chalk as it compact well and is very stable. No one noticed, and they would have made a pretty penny out of it - completely illegal.
You will have loads of fun in north Birmingham as it’s full of Attitude!

That place was a bit of a nightmare before it shut. It was a public tip that shared the facility with the bin lorries. Loads of conflicting movements on site. If there were lorries parked, sometimes you'd have to drive your car out over the weighbridge! There was a serious fire in the domestic refuse hall sometime in 2021 after which the place closed for this redevelopment. Great job capturing the progress 'from ABBUUURVE' 😂

When will they learn they don't own air space
Part of the Perry Barr Redevelopment began 2021. The primary contractor went into administration and update state a new prime contractor on site. From the conceptual the new Waste Transfer Facility extension is complete and mostly paved all the way around the WTF building with large hardstand/bin storage in front.
Phase 1 demolished the former building currently the earthwork site in front of the new building.
Phase 2 construct new depot (2 storey brick building) and demolition.
Phase 3 was adding the WTF extension in the front, essential doubling the size.
Phase 4 demolish an office bock, new weigh bridge, construct new car park.
Phase 5 construct new HWRC to left of main gate.
Appears they are early in the Phase 4 work from the drone footage.
clarification after checking google image which shows Phase 2.
Rear of new WTF constructed in Phase 1 while old building still in use. Front half added in Phase 3 with the old building demo completed. Birmingham Perry Barr page had very small drawings without clear legend.
