  • Bormio is a small mountain town at the southern end of the Stelvio National Park and Stelvio Pass and within the Upper Valtellina area in Lombardy, Italy.
This attractive town is best known as a winter ski resort (the town has played host to the annual Alpine World Ski Championship in 1985 and 2005) and for the spa treatments available: the Bagni Vecchi ("Old Baths") and Bagni Nuovi ("New Baths") are two of the most famous spas in Italy.
We'll visit the Bagni Vecchi that will take you to the Roman era, a two thousand years long journey through centuries-old caves and historical springs.
The real gem of this structure is the panoramic swimming pool, an infinity pool that offers a view over the whole valley.
Bormio is characterized by cobbled streets passing between medieval palazzos, some of them featuring frescoed exteriors.
In the main square, Piazza Cavour, you can see a traditional market hall with stone pillars, a clocktower with an oversized clock and a church from the 17th century.
