My personal reasons: Her new music feels too corporate and uninspired. It also feels like her peers are evolving musically while she's stagnant. The time for her to try something new is past due.
It was always corporate and uninspired. She barely writes her songs, and she’s not a good performer or a good singer to make up for it. She just sang sad break up songs, which people linked to Justin beiber. That was her whole image. Now that Justin isn’t with her, no one cares.
Nope now she just cares about whether she has publicity or not. I never liked her and im starting to get proven right

I LOVE Selena Gomez! Don’t get me wrong! But before I even heard this song I was crossing my fingers HOPING it wasn’t just a “mall song” & that’s sadly EXACTLY what it was, very unfortunate because we know she can give us a GOOD bop! 😢 I didn’t even get half way through this song before turning it off. With her platform & being the MOST followed person on instagram I don’t think it’s wrong for us to have HIGH expectations
I get what you are saying, but she has always said I’m not that good of a singer and she just loves music and it’s fun for her. I’m pretty sure I saw her say probably no more albums, but songs here and there maybe. I just feel as long and she’s happy and having fun, that’s what matters. I do get getting let down from a song. However, I honestly think she is one of my favorite songwriters because she is so personal and vulnerable!

She just likes to have a good time! I’ve loved everything she’s done. She’s an amazing actress and I believe a great great song writer because she’s so vulnerable.

I honestly think people do not care for her music anymore. She has been successful in her acting career as of lately and her makeup brand has really taken off. However, I think there are so many naturally talented singers, vocalists, and songwriters out right now that there is almost no need for her music.

So while she may be nominated and win the award for the acting and producing that doesn’t necessarily mean people are watching those shows. Even with fan voted awards like People’s Choice people don’t have to watch the show to vote for her her fans will vote for her because it’s her not because they actually watched and enjoyed the show.

She said she would quit music when Spring Breakers came out. Also, she said on the Smartless podcast that she doesn't think she has the best voice, and that she never wanted to be a singer full-time, but I guess rent was due so she put out this cute little jingle or whatever.

I love Selena. Loved all her past music, and my fav is the rare album, plus all the singles she released before in 2017~2020, but honestly I haven’t enjoyed anything she has released since 2021. I just feel it doesn’t have as much of her heart as it used to.

I think what puts people off was her saying she’s gonna quit music after doing the album and the statement she put out was giving ‘oh I don’t like doing this music thing rlly I don’t think I’m good at it’ and because she don’t think she’s good others won’t believe in her as much. yeah she's always been really insecure about her voice but honestly I think her voice is good for pop, Yeah she's not a Mariah Carey but her tone is nice and ofc the studio can make it better. She performed that one live so poorly they took it off the air (the one where her voice was terrible and the general consensus was she was drunk and embarrassed), she explained her struggles with depression and then she went to go do a cooking show and have tension with Mrs. Beiber. Its giving dispassionate, its giving confused demographic, its giving we need to fill the pop charts and we gave her her time back since she became so disinterested in ours. tl;dr Selena felt like a mutual break up a while ago but hey beautiful gowns and hope her mental health is where it needs to be if she's trying to navigate the music industry again.
