Liam at one point said that he was "making [his] way through the original classes" so I think Cleric is next (he's done Rogue on c1, Wizard in C2, Fighter in EXU)
@@Laggol Man I so want to see Liam play a cleric. :D I think it would be soo interesting. Also would be a nice change from the introvert sad Caleb (assuming he will play a cleric in a more extrovert/charismatic way that is)
@@lordhelmchen3154 he played a cleric of the raven queen character in the search for grog one shot and it wasn't extroverted but he definitely knows how to embody the follower of a diety.
@@moza7378 offically compared to minotaur no, firbolgs are closer in kin to goliath with their giant ancestory but the official artwork just gives them a big bovine nose and lots of shaggy hair. But if your homebrew universe they are the result of the wildest feywild party that involves goliath minotaur, elves and humans have at it.
From Talks Machina C2E85, The Threads Converge, at 16 minutes and 48 seconds: Dani Carr: "I bet next campaign it's going to be Sam that's the really sweet, like, sees everything really like beautiful, open eyes, and it's going to be Taliesin who's the jaded arsehole, and I can't wait for that." SPOILERS: The best part for me - Ashton has 'green stone skin'. He is literally 'Jaded'.
You know, I came across that and ultimately didn't include it because it didn't actually involve any of the cast talking about their own future characters - little did I know how accurate it would be!!
SIMON, IT'S ME, ALEXANDER! HAHAHAHA Edit: For context, we know each other IRL, and I found this on accident Edit 2: You can't escape me, Simon. Apparently, I will accidentally find you anyway
The chaos of an all-elf theater group that's been together for decades suddenly finding themselves to be an adventuring party would be an incredible story and I want that to become an EXU concept or something
At first glance I was like "nah they would all have to be bards" and then I realized that that's not necessarily true. A fighter or a paladin (Idk what oath but anyway) could be fight choreographer/security, wizard or sorcerer scenery or pyrotechnics, monk or rogue do lights if thats a thing plus the black shirt people who move stuff during the play. Idk what the other classes can do but I bet they have roles
Exactly! There's so much more than just bardistry to performance groups and the CR crew would certainly be creative enough to make a well- rounded fun time!
My dream is that Travis play a wizard and Sam play a sorcerer. The interplay of them having the same power level but Sam's character just learning things innately while Travis' is suffering over hours of studying would be truly hilarious
Or they could go with a specific "theme" for their character. For instance, an Aarakocra Sorcerer who can only use Air/Wind based spells (or any offensive spell they cast deals "Force" damage instead of the normal damage type), since Aarakocra are supposed to be "nomads" whom are originally from the Elemental Plane of Air. Or a Water Genasi who can only use water-based spells. Another potentially interesting possibility could be a Dragonborn/Half-Dragon Sorcerer whose Sorcerer Ancestry is a different type of Dragon than their racial ancestor, so they might have a "conflict" in their draconic genes where one set of draconic genes is trying to "overwrite" the other, so it could be a case where the character could have, say, Silver Dragon ancestry & Red Dragon ancestry, that could give them Resistance to both Cold & Fire as well as a Cold & Fire Breath Weapon (or possibly a "combination" Breath Weapon where their Breath Weapon is actually Steam and inflicts both Cold & Fire damage at the same time)? There are so many possibilities that it would be nearly impossible to predict with any certainty what someone would be playing unless they revealed it ahead of time. But I would love to see more uncommonly used races pop up as PCs for Campaign 3, like the Minotaur, Aarakocra, Tortle, or Tabaxi.
I hope Travis plays a wizard so we can have someone with an intelligence over 15. Actually, he's the character (Bertrand) with the highest intelligence right now... and Bertrand's going senile... Yeah, let's hope he plays a wizard. They need some Caleb level smarts to lead them
I feel like Travis would be absolutely suffering himself if he had to play a class that has to Learn stuff and not just innately have power and talents. Love him to bits but patience isn't his thing 😂 Like, wizardry almost /demands/ you to go shopping. The poor man.
You know, I have two Cleric characters in my mind. (Sadly they can't be together even though they're twins). The whole idea that I have with these two is an interesting ying and yang type thing. The bright-colored, Life Domain brother, believes that since they have power over life, they control who dies. While the darker-colored, Death Domain brother, believes that since they have power over death, they can control who lives.
I am banking on Sam being a kobold cleric. Small character with essential caster he hasn't played yet. I would love it so much too. And he casts his spells by singing Gregorian chants. Though knowing that the character is chosen by Liam and he seems to want Sam to try something new, it might not be a small race.
Fun fact: Taryon's class was chosen by Matt. Sam brought this idea of a rich kid character who bought all his adventuring stuff, and Matt was like, an Artificer would work for that
Sam playing a cleric that is also a Gregorian-styled "monk," in part so he can sing/chant and in part so he constantly have to openly rue that he's not an actual Monk class. Could also see Liam taking that "wanting a religion" note and Sam saying "this wasn't what I was thinking, but it's interesting" and giving Sam either a paladin or a warlock whose pact is with one of the betrayer gods (or an underling of one) that we haven't seen in CR yet like Bane or Ruiner or Zehir.
There was a moment in cognoza when Laura said something like " man i whish i could read minds and have telepathy" while people with eyes of somenovem were doing just that
@@TheOnceandFutureJake Taliesin actually played another character beforehand (a dragonborn paladin, I think?) although I seem to remember that he left, instead of dying. Maybe I’m getting that wrong though…
That's not accurate though. RAW is that to have a long rest most races need at least 6 hours of sleep and 2 hours of 'light activity', like keeping watch or writing a poem or such things. Elves, on the other hand, need to trance for 4 hours, which is a state where they apparently do nothing but are less unconscious than someone who is asleep, and 4 hours of 'light activity'. That means that either way everyone needs 8 hours for a long rest - they're just a bit different in what they can do during the long rest.
@@Avalikia That is indeed RAI. Though Matt clearly handles long rests differently, for instance he doesn't count keeping watch in the 8 hours of long rest because of his emphasis on the sleep aspect of it as opposed to the rules where you only need 6 so who knows he might rule it that way
@@Lucarioguild7 Yeah, I'm not saying that Matt can't homebrew as much as he wants, but I think it's worth stating what the rules actually are for that one because it's often misunderstood.
@@Avalikia There was a change in the PHB regarding long rests that specifies that it's at least 6 hours of sleeping in addition to the only previously written 2 hours of light activity. This contradicts the Trance feature, which states that elves gain the same benefits from trancing in 4 hours as a human does from sleeping for 8 hours, and since specific beats general: elves do indeed complete their long rests in 4 hours. Edit: Also the Sage Advice Compendium clarifies that it is indeed RAI.
I played something similar in one of my campaigns. Half Orc Valor Bard trying to retrace the steps of an ancient hero from the legends of his tribe. I played him as a Klingon, more or less.
My first campaign I played a Half-Orc Bard because it seemed like a ridiculous combination that absolutely wasn't min-maxed well. I decided that the reason the Half-Orc wanted to be a bard was he was abandoned by his parents and then found and raised by a Loxodon community who tell stories through song, and humming using their trunks. Most half-orcs were more aligned toward evil/chaotic, so I chose the Loxodon's who were mostly aligned to lawful/good to better center my bard at neutral/good.
@@RottenBen Half-Orcs are great for any class, IMO, as long as the build is melee-oriented. (Preface: Hot take incoming. Race/Class synergy is put on an unnecessary pedestal over build-planning. Great for creating a cookie-cutter characters that are quick to get into, but not particularly narratively inspired - and not necessarily mechanically superior, either.) Obviously, some classes don't make great melee heroes, but if you wanted to play, say, a muscle mage, half-orc is still a really solid choice for race. In a sense, the Relentless Endurance feature kind of encourages you to choose a low-HP class; if you never run out of HP - as it only triggers when you do - you might as well not have that feature. Also, in that sense, if you really want to optimize your gains you kind of want your dwarf fighter to be dexterity-based. Dwarves lose 5 ft of movement per turn, but in practice aren't penalized by having a lacking Strength score for full plate armor at all, assuming you gain the proficiency somewhere. Making a strong dwarf costs you that racial benefit. Sure, heavy armor doesn't give you the Dex-benefit to AC, but a higher Dex is still applied to skill checks, attacks, and saving throws. With Strength, you can use a wider selection of weapons effectively, and resist being entangled (the effect already being lessened, as you would only move 25 rather than 30 anyway). I really like a Dex+Wis build for a dwarven Cleric (Nature Domain) for that protector/watcher/Green-knight feel. Paladin of the Ancients is encouraged to have relatively high social skills that aren't quite in that character.
A buddy of mine made somethi g similar to that idea but what I lost it at was the fact his character carries around a grand piano to play at taverns and stuff. But he is a colossal idiot so whenever he tries to do a performance check he more or less gets kneecapped.
Liam mentioned in EXU, I think, that he was going through all the original/early classes of D&D, and since he's done a Rogue, a Wizard, and a Fighter, that just leaves Cleric. So maybe he'll go with that for C3.
@@ryanrhino2318 He has played multiple clerics. But he also played multiple fighters before Orym. I think Cleric is likely. And since he's one away from covering al the original races as well, we'll plant our flag in Dwarf while we're at it.

Baggins are mild mannered, Tooks are wild adventurers, two of them had Bilbo which lead to half his family disliking him. Pippin and Merry: No backstory. Textbook troublemaking rich kids. That's it. Sam: Literally a gardener. His father was a gardener, he wanted to be a gardener. That's it.
Predictions that actually worked out! - Ashton doesn't have any siblings that we know about yet, but it's only Ep 1 - Sam's character is a cleric (thus religious) - Liam is a halfling (he kept his character Orym from Exandria Unlimited)
5:42 Travis' reaction to his own wife, the woman he lives with, the mother of his child. Laura is so talented and full of surprises, and her husband is her biggest hype man.
I think they're going to experiment with races, features, and subclasses from some of the newer WotC releases. A lot of the subclasses are quite unique and really colorful for story telling and roll play, and how cool would it be to have someone be like a secret dhampir or something
surfer dude divine soul sorcerer! charisma caster so you can still use the performance skill effectively and there is no rule that says a sorcerer's spells can't be powered by music!
C1: it was a Dragon that was one of the big bads of the campaign. C2: it was himself brainwashed into it by his teacher. C3: His parents do it try and bring forth the rebirth of a betrayer god that ends up trapped in Liam's characters mind... or maybe just as part of a insurance fraud attempt.
Here are some of my productions for class some have a race because it’s fun Sam: cleric, he gave Laura a lot of shit for it. Something large for a race to subvert expectation Laura: barbarian, I feel like she needs to let loose, and get those high damage rolls and tanks things no problem. Tal: artificer, he’s played forever and I don’t think he’s tried that. I think he would play a good gnome. Travis: sorcerer, idk he said he was scared of it once want him to try. Liam: Druid, he’s a good spell caster and a halfling Druid is great. Ash: no clue really; maybe warlock that would be interesting or a monk I want one of them to be a monk because they all fond over Beau’s abilities just don’t know who. Marisha: idk something martial like Paladin, fighter, or rogue. She did really well with Beau and I think Marsha as a paladin on a holy mission would be amazing. Pulse she said in the past how she wished her charisma was higher.
i agree on sam and laura. Tal and travis im ok with . but Ash i would say bard race idk something sweet looking maybe fairy or the new heragon. marisha i would say sorcerer and if she goes sorcerer Travis is going druid and liam is gong Fighter Or Warlock
I think artificer might be a little similar to Percy in some regards for Tal to go artificer. He also strikes me as the most adventurous when it comes to character concepts (not to imply the rest are basic or anything, just that Taliesin seems like he'd get a real kick out of the weirder options). No clue what he'd actually play, but I'm sure it's some obscure race homebrewed to be playable with a UA subclass or something.
@@littlemisspipebomb4723 would have overlapping qualities but two gear heads can act very different. What ever he plays I think I’m most excited for him or Sam whatever it is it will be layered and fantastic
I did think Travis seemed *very* interested when they were talking about the Aeoorian Warforged in the wrap-up. Obviously, it would have been pretty late by then if he hadn't settled on an idea already, but still, something to think about. I could definitely see him playing a Warforged at som,e point!
@@tibot4228 I feel like a kenku warlock or cleric would also be really good since kenku cant talk normally. Itd be a really nice backstory if the patron said words for them to mimic
I'm going to drop my predictions here: - Travis: No fucking idea. I think it'd be cool if he played something like a Lycan Blood Hunter due to his well-documented love of werewolves. He also seems to gravitate towards melee characters, but he might also choose to go in a completely different direction with C3 to really mix things up. - Laura: Also no idea, I just want her to be able to pick her class before anyone else does. Let her finally have the class she wants! - Liam: Liam said in the ExU wrap-up that he's "making his way around the original DND classes", those classes being Thief (Rogue), Magic-User (Wizard), and Fighter (Fighter). I think he'll go for a cleric or druid as well. (I'm leaning towards druid because he seemed to have a lot of fun with making animal noises as Caleb, and druids used to be a subsect of clerics.) I also think it'll be neat for him to play another small race for contrast. Also he says he wants something that'll be more "ride along" and "go with the flow", so I think a chill, wise cleric/druid would def match that - Sam: A paladin, maybe on the larger side, like a goliath or half-orc. I mostly think it'll be funny. Some people are saying cleric, but I think that he'll be a paladin for two main reasons: 1) He's never played a tanky melee character before, 2) Liam chose the character, and Liam loves playing characters with a pre-existing relationship with another party member (Buddy and Mac, Vax and Vex, Caleb and Nott). A paladin pairing up with a cleric would make a lot of sense, potentially they worship the same god and come from the same group, or maybe they worship two different gods who have come together to forge a union/alliance/pact, like how Melora and the Raven Queen are considered close allies because of the nature of life and death. - Ashley: No idea. I think it'd be cool to see her play a Rogue or Sorcerer, or something in the "charismatic damage dealer" role, since Ashley has mostly played soft, gentle characters and it'd be really interesting to see her be the talker of the group. - Taliesin: High INT Warlock or Wizard. Taliesin was asked a question in a panel that wasn't shown here, where he, Laura and Matt were asked what their favourite patron/warlock relationship was. Taliesin said he didn't want to answer because it might give away some stuff for a character that isn't Caduceus. So I'm thinking Warlock, but his comment on having high intelligence makes me think he'll play a wizard, but I don't think he'll go for Artificer considering how similar that would be to Percy in terms of characterisation. I also think Taliesin will play something on the homebrew side, just like he did with C1 and Molly in C2. (Even Caduceus had a homebrew cantrip), and Matt said in the State of the Role announcement that Taliesin "has a lot of questions", although that might've been a joke. in Tal'Dorei Reborn, there is going to be a new Wizard subclass called the School of Blood Magic. I think that this is what Taliesin will play, it's got the right amount of dark edgy gothness, a really unique homebrew class, and high INT, which is the total opposite of Molly and Caduceus's INT scores. - Marisha: Also no idea. I think it'd be neat to see her play someone with high charisma as she's mostly played high WIS/High INT.
Tal would also make a great arcane trickster rogue, but sam just played that 100% think marisha is going to be a high charisma character, warlock is my random guess
punching it in now, Ashly is gonna play a monk, Sam is either a cleric or paladin, Travis wizard, idk the rest, someone is gonna be a blood hunter again maybe
laura bailey: wait elves only need 4 hours of sleep? I like that, I'll make a very well rested character for campaign 3 then also laura bailey: proceeds to make the least well rested character ever in the history of D&D ( 9:52 )

That moment when Matt decides the way the kid would react at 2:07 . Awesome and hilarious
@@JupiterTheWizard Looking at the rules, it doesn't seem to imply that they need to do anything for 8 hours; just that the (elf) 4-hour trance equates a (human) 8-hour rest
@@LightDragon777 So the ability trance says "After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep." from what I gather there's a difference between sleep and rest. In the rules for L/R it says "at least 8 hours long, during which a character sleeps for at least 6 hours and performs no more than 2 hours of light activity, such as reading, talking, eating, or standing watch." This means a L/R has to be a minimum of 8 hours to gain the benefit, so Trance allows an elf to have an extra 2 hours per long rest to do something.
I hope not, the less human the race is, the less I care for it to be honest. I'd rather they don't play the gimmicky races added later but well, up to them of course.
@@justaguyperson I have to agree with Willem here on Warforged at least. Machines having emotions is just too weird and improbable; and emotion is the wellspring of drama. Might as well just be an npc. Yeah, they can magic it up to make it sentient and have some semblance of emotion, but even if they did such a creature would still be too alien to the human experience to empathize with which would be a shame with so many missed opportunities for each of these talented people. I feel much the same about Lizardmen, even though conceptually I find them cool as hell. Now other species such as Minotaurs, centaurs and satyrs - that's cool and makes for a much more narratively compelling story than 'machine sad, deep huh?'.
@@johnjaeger3746 I find the concept of an emotion feeling robot very plausible considering we’re probably close to it currently. I agree with you about lizardfolk though
I think in the EXU wrap up Liam said something along the lines of "I've been working my way through the original classes and doing them different from their stereotypes" (not the exact quote) which leaves Cleric as a likely option so that's my guess
I’m so excited for campaign 3. I discovered CR around episode 70ish of campaign 2 but opted to watch the 1st campaign 1st. Then finally caught up in campaign 2 around episode 102. This will be my first time experiencing a live campaign from the beginning and not accidentally getting spoiled to major plot points.
A "reunion" of c2 characters. 20 years older, plus a few levels. And a few curses... they have to come back together to "fight their demons" and relive the golden days. It would take a while to re-establish the character and catch up on their new developments in life (children), and then to see how they've grown in power! And fallen from glory. And NEED each other to be redeemed! Kinda like the movie The Incredibles where they meet Frozone and need him to beat an old time "admirer" who's out to kill them. Remember that kid Nott threw mud in the face of when he was pink? Good villain placement.
Some guesses for fun. Liam: Warforged Bard, descendant of Doty. Sam: Tortle Warlock, Patron: The Genie Laura: Elven Rogue Travis: Human Ranger or Fighter Archer Marisha: Tiefling, Fairy, or Dragonborn Sorcerer Taliesin: Gnome Wizard Ashley: Leonin or Dwarven Monk, Fighter, Rogue, or Artificer or something, I'm not sure Ashley feels like she could go any direction.
i dont thing that ash will play an artificer, it is so much: you can bulid that to make this, and that can fit here, she is more a living in the moment player... ps i hope that somebody is going paladin oath of watcher, maybe Liam...
My guesses from most to least sure: Ashley: bard Travis: monk Marisha: paladin Laura: sorcerer Sam: cleric Taliesin: rogue Liam: too much of a wild card
C3 (and EXU sorta kinda) Minor Spoilers ahead! I mean it! As of episode 1 of C3, 4:08 and 10:20 are the most explicit nods towards things yet to come (not counting Liam's halfling because EXU already fulfilled that more or less, and that has since continued on). Edit: Tal was cryptic and is early in the campaign to get a good read on certain things there, but he did give himself enough intelligence to take notes this time.
what will be interesting is as of the end of campaign 2 War forged now exist in Exandria will any of them have made it to Marquette by the time C3 starts (which I'm guessing will at least be close to the time of EXU (30 years post-Vecna 10 Post Somnovum)
Thank you! Bc i remember certain sentences/ideas/moments of loving a character from C1 that came through in C2 into their characters, and i want to see this for C3
This has never been mentioned as a next campaign character by the group, but ever since Jester turned into a mammoth for one fight and joked "I want to be a mammoth all the time," I've joked that Laura's next campaign character is going to be a loxodon. Mind you, it would be awesome if she seriously did it; loxodons are a horrendously underrated player race.
classes i'd be really interested in seeing them play: travis: (minatour??) battle master fighter (though it would also be cool to see him as a full spellcaster) laura: barbarian (or another melee class) marisha: ranger (specialised class features with melee options & a limited spell set) ashley: some kind of rogue/monk (let her have good initiative!!) sam: druid/cleric (i just want him to be a spellcaster with a huge spell list again. good shit) liam: bard !!! taliesin: bard/sorcerer/warlock (high charisma spellcaster!!!)
Laura really didnt know about the elves trance skill. Trust me it may seem like a flavor ability but its actually fricken boss as not only do you need only 4 hours of sleep, but you are full aware of your surroundings so you cant get jumped nearly as easily.
Definitely when playing something with some wisdom/perception. My favorite running gag is the warlock with aspect of the moon, dumped wisdom and bad eyesight always being on watch.
It would be fun to see every player play the same race and class (not for a campaign, but for one-shot maybe) to see the different flavours they can bring with their personality. Elf monks?))
I really hope to see a dwarf in the party, and a full elf. They are staple races of D&D and weren't played in either campaign yet. I'm not a fan of the gimmicky or animal like races added later. For classes, I have some ideas for what I think could be great for each player, so let's see if any predictions are right in a few weeks: -Rogue for Ashley. Would be very different from Pike and Yasha and I think Ashley has a curiosity, wanting to poke at things and this lets her. Also lets her play more into a mischievous side which she did not get to do as much in previous roles. -Eldricht Knight for Travis. I think he wasn't that fond of being so squishy and he does seem to enjoy being in melee combat. I think Eldricht knight would be perfect for him, giving some magic but plenty of durability too and it would be great to have a fighter as the tank for once instead of a barbarian. -Bard for Laura. I feel like this lets her do a bit of both from Vex and Jester, having both charm and some mischief and she's a good singer. And at the same time, she can give the character a whole new aspect too that neither Vex or Jester had. -Cleric for Sam. I think he'd have new chances for mischief as a cleric, and I like the idea of them having to rely on Sam for healing. And he did mention wanting to explore a religious character. -Paladin for Liam. We've yet to see a paladin in the main party, I know he has multiclassed to it before and so did Travis but that does not really count. I think the oaths would really offer some interesting roleplay to Liam and it let's him be a bit supportive too while also having lots of hitpoints for the first time. -Sorcerer for Taliesin. I think he'd have some cool ideas to work with sorcerous origins and it lets him play again with someone who might make bad decisions but without being chained to some dark being once more which would be likely with a warlock. And we haven't had a sorcerer in the main party since Tiberius left and it's very different from all three of his previously played characters. -Ranger for Marisha. She has kind of that survivalist vibe about her, like she'd be the one who'd know what to do when the apocalypse hits. And being the ranged support would be very different from jumping in as a monk or in animal form, let's her go back a bit to nature too as much as she'd like at least. I think this would be a pretty balanced party with everyone getting to try very different things from their previous characters. While I think Marisha could make a great barbarian too, I'd fear for whoever sits next to her then and I'd really want to see something else than a barbarian as the party tank for once. So I really would like to see a fighter or paladin in that role. Or both even.
Travis could play echo knight as well. Although they said the campaign will take place in marquet(ıdk how to spell it sorry in advance) so echo knight may be a little strecth. But your comp seems interesting and I would love a curious ashley poking stuff, creating chaos.
My guesses based on absolutely nothing; Ashley: Human artificer Laura: Genasi Bard Liam: Hafling monk Marisha: Half-Orc Ranger Sam: Kenku cleric (with a gun for lolz) Taliesin: Genasi rogue Travis: Minotaur or wereshifter druid
So what I’m getting from Sam is that he’s gonna be a Treant Cleric (maybe to the Raven Queen?) with a surfer dude attitude, who sings/chants to heal people. (Possibly named ‘Steve Napoleon’) Taliesin’s next character is just gonna be Lord Kermit.
I need a travis minotaur. Playing a minotaur, you can make it anything from a hippie with anger issues to a literal paladin holy cow to the classic minotaur angry boi and anything in between. But all this with a 9 foot, cow faced muscle mountain.
these have been my CRC3 predictions for months now 🎉🎉 Ashley: ranger Laura: bard Liam: artificer Marisha: cleric Sam: paladin Taliesin: sorcerer Travis: blood hunter
@@underthependulum3484 Sure!! This ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be 💀 Ash seemed to really love leaning into that more nature-based/otherworldly aesthetic with Fearne so a horizonwalker ranger or something equally as mystical but still having physical-based combat seemed right up her alley. Laura as a bard would be just,, 👌👌🥺👌🥺😊👌 chefs kiss. Those dummy lil songs that jester would randomly come up with…. They always made her laugh so hard. Plus, hearing how much she misses Scanlan, how into musicals she is, her heavenly voice.., just seems to fit. Ily Laura Bailey Artificer for Liam has always been a top choice tbh. His descriptions of Caleb casting spells, how he used each ingredient, and later on, with the descriptions and detail of each room in his nascent nine-sided trauma tower… an excellent outlet for Liam’s Absolutely Massive creativity and attention to detail. A busy little minded character with a big heart would b nice to have again, after having a taste of what it was like with Orym, 💘💘 M as a cleric would be very very cute imo. She had such a great and memorable flair for her healing spells as Keyleth that always left an impact on my rat brain, and with them working on LoVM, her dipping into the magic based classes again and the very different vibe that casters have; all good stuff for a player who has been playing a physical combat character. I’d ADORE seeing M play as a sciencey-brainiac again!! (Dr Frenno was a masterpiece-) Samuel has got to play a paladin or I am Throwing Myself Off A Bridge. He dipped his toe into the knightly aesthetic with Tary, and I recall him saying something about a mustached character, boisterous personality… that along with his desire to sink his enormous teeth into the godly-divine aspect… screamed paladin at me while running at me with a sword. I can see this mf walk in on day one with a Lion tabaxi or some shit with a cowardly lion personality but a Devout Believer of Big Brass Dragon In The Jeweled City that Spoke to him Once. Tal was definitely the hardest to predict & reason with, seeing as he’s a Pyramid with multiple brains harbored his big brain head. I finally settled on sorcerer because seeing him do the [REDACTED] mind connection thing with a mildly creepy twist as an Aberrant Mind sorcerer was just TOO GOOD to pass up. Or because this is gonna be in Marquet,, a rune child would be super cool to see!! Could you IMAGINE the vaguely culty markings on a Soft Personality taliesin character???? Delicious. And for Travis…. remember the absolute ENVY-fomo he exuded in the M9-VM one shot every time Molly broke out a new move??? And again while Matt was explaining what [REDACTED]’S powers were like in the campaign wrap up…. I’ll never get that out of my head again. Fjord was really just a masterpiece of a character in every way tbh. Tarv always seems to adore big sword characters but the magic element with Fjord was exactly what he needed to not be bogged down by the lack-of-mobility-tank (until later into C1) character that Grog was, but still maintain a magic-wielder’s flair, like Fjord, and ability to get around the battlemap quickly just seemed like the go to answer. I’m a big Travis fan and as a person with adhd as well, it’s always hard for me to play purely weapon based/physical characters because I KNOW what I’m gonna do next round of combat… Hit Things Real Good. Magic users always keep me focused and engaged as I have a million different things to consider !! I had completely forgotten that he has played a blood hunter before (in Liam’s Song of Lorelei oneshot) as well!! So we know he’d be up to the task!
So what we know is: Marisha is playing a half-orc barbarian Sam might be doing something semi-religious (Paladin?) Liam is gonna be a halfling with very little important backstory (unless that's what he did for EXU) Taliesin already has a backup character Laura isn't playing a paladin Travis might be a minitour
So does anyone have any guesses or wishes? - these are more thoughts not even really wishes or guesses - though lol but yeah Marisha = Half Orc or Tabaxi - Bard - Eloquest Liam = Halfing Fighter - Battle Master (if he goes with Orym which I love) or a Halfing Paladin would be fun - Oath of Open Sea Sam = Dwarf Cleric - Twilight or Tempest Tailisan = Bugbear - Rogue - Wild Card Laura = Minitaur Barbarian - (so many good choices) Wild Magic or Storm Herald Travis = Aarakockra or Water Gensi ohh or Lizardfolk - Circle of the Star Druid Ashley = Triton - Sorcerer - Runechild or (don't play many sorcerers but yeah lol)
Feels like Liam's Halfling with no backstory is kinda done with EXU don't you think?

The chaos of an all-elf theater group that's been together for decades suddenly finding themselves to be an adventuring party would be an incredible story and I want that to become an EXU concept or something
At first glance I was like "nah they would all have to be bards" and then I realized that that's not necessarily true. A fighter or a paladin (Idk what oath but anyway) could be fight choreographer/security, wizard or sorcerer scenery or pyrotechnics, monk or rogue do lights if thats a thing plus the black shirt people who move stuff during the play. Idk what the other classes can do but I bet they have roles
@@jodah_eternal oath of glory would fit for a performer.
A monk with the performer (acrobatics) background could be fun.
Exactly! There's so much more than just bardistry to performance groups and the CR crew would certainly be creative enough to make a well- rounded fun time!
I love it and I want it and Sam needs to play a High Elf Bladesinger and be musical and tall and insufferable.
somehow Brave Little Toaster was one of the most accurate teasers here
That, and liam's craving for halflings XD
My dream is that Travis play a wizard and Sam play a sorcerer. The interplay of them having the same power level but Sam's character just learning things innately while Travis' is suffering over hours of studying would be truly hilarious
🤭🤭😆😆🤣🤣🤣 can't wait!!!
Love him to bits but patience isn't his thing 😂
Like, wizardry almost /demands/ you to go shopping. The poor man.

While the darker-colored, Death Domain brother, believes that since they have power over death, they can control who lives.
I am banking on Sam being a kobold cleric. Small character with essential caster he hasn't played yet. I would love it so much too. And he casts his spells by singing Gregorian chants. 9:57 🤩🤩🤩 everyone’s eye when Matt mentioned that elves only need 4 hours for a full rest
@@Avalikia Definitely agree, the wording of that racial feature is very misleading
Everyone's missing Marisha carpet bombing her Half-Orc Bard idea. I'd love to see her play that
I played something similar in one of my campaigns.
Great for creating a cookie-cutter characters that are quick to get into, but not particularly narratively inspired - and not necessarily mechanically superior, either.)
Obviously, some classes don't make great melee heroes, but if you wanted to play, say, a muscle mage, half-orc is still a really solid choice for race.
I'm really hoping for it actually
Liam mentioned in EXU, I think, that he was going through all the original/early classes of D&D, and since he's done a Rogue, a Wizard, and a Fighter, that just leaves Cleric. So maybe he'll go with that for C3.

Travis: sorcerer, idk he said he was scared of it once want him to try.
Liam: Druid, he’s a good spell caster and a halfling Druid is great.

@@tibot4228 I feel like a kenku warlock or cleric would also be really good since kenku cant talk normally. Itd be a really nice backstory if the patron said words for them to mimic
... well... You were close XD
I'm going to drop my predictions here:
- Travis: No fucking idea.
Also he says he wants something that'll be more "ride along" and "go with the flow", so I think a chill, wise cleric/druid would def match that
- Sam: A paladin, maybe on the larger side, like a goliath or half-orc.
I like how your first sentence makes it seem like you're going to have a full breakdown and then four out of seven are "no idea."
Tal would also make a great arcane trickster rogue, but sam just played that
100% think marisha is going to be a high charisma character, warlock is my random guess
I want to see marisha play a barbarian but I have a feeling she'll go rogue. No more heavy spellcasters after kiki for sure
Let me just applaud you on the Travis guess, damn! Chet might be a multiclass but still!
Goddamn I love you crazy crit rolers! you always find the best content to make. Incredible detective work here

@@JupiterTheWizard but that can be keeping watch, and matt loves an ambush.
@@piersonjamesa True, True

I think in the EXU wrap up Liam said something along the lines of "I've been working my way through the original classes and doing them different from their stereotypes" (not the exact quote) which leaves Cleric as a likely option so that's my guess
tempest cleric liam would be juicy
marisha playing a half orc bard would bring tears to my eyes, thats three awesome things wrapped into one its a beautiful combination
dude mad props to u for making this vid, this would've taken a lot of work and research
Liam did in fact, Make a Halfling.
Wow what a compilation, holy crap. Labor of love doesn’t even describe it.
I know it can’t happen, but Old Man Percy would be awesome.
It would but there's no way Vex would let him out of the house at that age.
*sigh of longing & then swoons onto a waiting couch ~
Well we did get old men just not percy
Some guesses for fun.
Liam: Warforged Bard, descendant of Doty.
Sam: Tortle Warlock, Patron: The Genie
Laura: Elven Rogue
Travis: Human Ranger or Fighter Archer
Marisha: Tiefling, Fairy, or Dragonborn Sorcerer
Taliesin: Gnome Wizard
Ashley: Leonin or Dwarven Monk, Fighter, Rogue, or Artificer or something, I'm not sure Ashley feels like she could go any direction.
Coming back to check October 21st
100% support for the warforged bard.
I'm pretty sure Mr O'Brien or Mr Jaffe will be playing a warforged. I'm leaning towards Tal tho 'cause of Liam's character in the space one shot
i dont thing that ash will play an artificer, it is so much: you can bulid that to make this, and that can fit here, she is more a living in the moment player...
ps i hope that somebody is going paladin oath of watcher, maybe Liam...
@@mackva5973 Awesome :) lol, I hope I get some part of something right.
I love coming back to this video every once in a while
My guesses from most to least sure:
Ashley: bard
Travis: monk
Marisha: paladin
Laura: sorcerer
Sam: cleric
Taliesin: rogue
Liam: too much of a wild card
Liam as a druid. He liked Polymorph alot, so wild shape is up that same alley
4 and 5 are good, rest not so much
You guessed Sam & Laura's correctly.
Aaaaahhh one more week!!! Can't wait!!!!
This would have taken so much research! Great video
Its not likely but I would love to see a warforged now that they have been official introduced to the world
Watching this post ep 3x1 is hilarious, cuz some of these came true and some are wildly off.
what will be interesting is as of the end of campaign 2 War forged now exist in Exandria will any of them have made it to Marquette by the time C3 starts (which I'm guessing will at least be close to the time of EXU (30 years post-Vecna 10 Post Somnovum)
We haven't seen a sorcerer PC in Critical Role since Tibs. I'd love that
Matthew played a divine soul sorcerer in EXU.
@@UnofficialDustyn Oh, you're right. I haven't watched it yet
@@nem0men_901 it's pretty good. A bit unruly at times, but still fun.
@@UnofficialDustyn I'll check it out, thanks
I want Travis as a Minotaur Sorcerer
Who else came here after Campaign 3 started?
Mind you, it would be awesome if she seriously did it; loxodons are a horrendously underrated player race.
classes i'd be really interested in seeing them play:
travis: (minatour??) battle master fighter (though it would also be cool to see him as a full spellcaster)
laura: barbarian (or another melee class)
marisha: ranger (specialised class features with melee options & a limited spell set)
ashley: some kind of rogue/monk (let her have good initiative!!)
sam: druid/cleric (i just want him to be a spellcaster with a huge spell list again. good shit)
liam: bard !!!
taliesin: bard/sorcerer/warlock (high charisma spellcaster!!!)
Liam played the halfling in EXU
Nothing has changed lol
Sam: A treeman cleric that loves to sing.
No, all Elf BARDS. A band that's been preforming for decades suddenly becomeing adventurers! (Or are already adventureing bards)
@@SMon42 they have joked at the VMvsMN game that monks are OP and they will all play as monks in the next campaign
@@Toporshik yeah, but monks don't use spell slots, one of the big reasons to LR.
All clerics! But different races...
And welcome back to this week's episode of "Oops! All Clerics"
It's really fun to see now and know when they're joking and when they're not, and possibly what their backup characters are
You're a hero for this, I seriously cANNOT wait for C3
I feel like Liam picked a wild magic sorcerer for Sam…
The pure chaos would be incredible
Or a wild magic barbarian.
I'm so about Cleric Sam and Paladin Marisha! I hope it happens.
I'm hoping Travis is going in the werewolf direction....all I know is, I'm so excited
I really hope to see a dwarf in the party, and a full elf. They are staple races of D&D and weren't played in either campaign yet. I'm not a fan of the gimmicky or animal like races added later.
For classes, I have some ideas for what I think could be great for each player, so let's see if any predictions are right in a few weeks:
-Rogue for Ashley.
I'm excited to see what all they come up with. No matter what I'm sure it'll be great.
This just reminded me of how much I miss old Talks Machina 😭💔
Waiting for Sam's Paladin/Ranger/Bard Multiclassed Treeant
Starting off with Liam talking about "my Halfling" :D
Have a smiley daaaaay!
My guesses based on absolutely nothing;
Ashley: Human artificer
Laura: Genasi Bard
Liam: Hafling monk
Marisha: Half-Orc Ranger
Sam: Kenku cleric (with a gun for lolz)
Taliesin: Genasi rogue
Travis: Minotaur or wereshifter druid
Travis playing a Minotaur would be awesome.
Considering this is set in Marquet I really hope someone plays a Genasi this campaign. It just seems like a great setting for it.
Talieson usually plays some home brew of Matt’s doesn’t he? Dunamancy Wizard just sounds fun especially after seeing Essek and Caleb use those spells.
So what I’m getting from Sam is that he’s gonna be a Treant Cleric (maybe to the Raven Queen?) with a surfer dude attitude, who sings/chants to heal people. (Possibly named ‘Steve Napoleon’)
Taliesin’s next character is just gonna be Lord Kermit.
I need a travis minotaur. Playing a minotaur, you can make it anything from a hippie with anger issues to a literal paladin holy cow to the classic minotaur angry boi and anything in between. But all this with a 9 foot, cow faced muscle mountain.
these have been my CRC3 predictions for months now 🎉🎉
Ashley: ranger
Laura: bard
Liam: artificer
Marisha: cleric
Sam: paladin
Taliesin: sorcerer
Travis: blood hunter
Sam and Marisha with Paladin and Cleric would be so cool! I want this two to interact more in C3.
But I'd say Sam as Cleric and Marisha as Paladin.
Travis has actually played a Blood Hunter before.
I'd love to hear the reasoning for some of these.
@@TheOnceandFutureJake When?
@@underthependulum3484 Sure!! This ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be 💀
Ash seemed to really love leaning into that more nature-based/otherworldly aesthetic with Fearne so a horizonwalker ranger or something equally as mystical but still having physical-based combat seemed right up her alley.
Ily Laura Bailey
Artificer for Liam has always been a top choice tbh. His descriptions of Caleb casting spells, how he used each ingredient, and later on, with the descriptions and detail of each room in his nascent nine-sided trauma tower… an excellent outlet for Liam’s Absolutely Massive creativity and attention to detail. A busy little minded character with a big heart would b nice to have again, after having a taste of what it was like with Orym, 💘💘
M as a cleric would be very very cute imo. (Dr Frenno was a masterpiece-)
Samuel has got to play a paladin or I am Throwing Myself Off A Bridge.
Ok so sams playing a musical tree ent with a cleric background XD
So what we know is:
Marisha is playing a half-orc barbarian
Sam might be doing something semi-religious (Paladin?)
Liam is gonna be a halfling with very little important backstory (unless that's what he did for EXU)
Taliesin already has a backup character
Laura isn't playing a paladin
Travis might be a minitour
I actually can't wait, I bought tickets for the first ep of campaign 3 to watch in theaters. I'm so excited for character reviews! :D
As much as I’m stoked for Campaign 3, I really wanna see a lot of one shots with the Mighty Nein. There’s still plenty of things they could still do.
I have a feeling Marisha’s “wacky” idea is Hazel Copperpot from that Darrington Brigade one shot.
We'll see if Orym was enough to fill Liam's Halfling desires, or if he still wants to play one for a full campaign.
Good news!
So does anyone have any guesses or wishes? - these are more thoughts not even really wishes or guesses - though lol but yeah
Marisha = Half Orc or Tabaxi - Bard - Eloquest
Liam = Halfing Fighter - Battle Master (if he goes with Orym which I love) or a Halfing Paladin would be fun - Oath of Open Sea
Sam = Dwarf Cleric - Twilight or Tempest
Tailisan = Bugbear - Rogue - Wild Card
Laura = Minitaur Barbarian - (so many good choices) Wild Magic or Storm Herald
Travis = Aarakockra or Water Gensi ohh or Lizardfolk - Circle of the Star Druid
Ashley = Triton - Sorcerer - Runechild or (don't play many sorcerers but yeah lol)
Please someone play a changeling! Could you imagine Sam playing a changeling bard in the college of eloquence?!
Man i can't wait for this next campaign, can't it just be here already
