Between this story, The Willows, and The Wendigo; what happened to Mr. Blackwood in the woods!?!?! It sounds like he's traumatized by some experience he had while camping!
I keep coming across the odd story that I hadn't listened to, (or in this case read,) previously and a new to me, Blackwood is a treat; unexpected and unlookedfor.
As someone who loves to test their skills on regular solo trips, Algernon's descriptive flavour of horror really vibes with me. Gonna have a couple downloaded next time I head out into the pines.
Hey there so I am new to your page and I am glad I did your play lists are very well organized I really like that you have play lists separated by minutes and I don't have to search for the longer stories very nice glad I joined
another really well written story. this guy writes stories which have a sense of rising suspense, but are still based on normal people. the events build up at a normal pace and still you grip onto what’s evolving til all falls into place and the ending is a good one. Spoiler thing here - got him! heh heh heh :)

Blackwood just drag you right out in dem woods and drops you somewhere you have ZERO idea...you're gazing around in de mist...and something whispers...What you gonna DO NOW?? I can see it like watching a movie...well done Ian!
Ian Gordon is the best narrator ever. I'm a new subscriber to HorrorBabble and this guy has me hooked. Thanks for the stories!
Not to snipe Ian or Horror Babble, but Wayne June Lovecraft is pretty good too
I completely agree with you, Ian's voice is like no other and probably the reason I listen to these superb productions so much.
Thanks. Your reading of this story broght it to life.
Love this piece by Blackwood , the writing is just genius.
Nice! I just came down with a cold and was looking for something to do. A warm drink and another great vid- thanks HorrorBabble :)

I'm afraid Canada did a number on him. We're sorry. 😔
@@h.calvert3165 Something moves secretly between your apologies, a shadow veiling the stars, destroying the peace of our little world.
Robert Service seemed to escape unscathed. Blackwood must have been a bit high strung 😉
splendid as always Ian!
Through your channel I have come to know and love this author ❤ thank you so much for doing such great narration!
Great story and narration.
Mr. Blackwood's stories are excellent.
I love this channel! This story is quite eerie! Oh, it is good.
Thanks, Ian!

Delightful, narrative. Always bringing the surreal -to the surface of quaint reality... Beautiful darling.
Blackwood is the real thing. His tales have a tangible eerieness.
Him and MR James, they both had a genuinely creepy feel.
Wonderful work as always, thank you very much!!
Brilliant. Well read and the ambience is great. Another hit.

Another AWESOME show ! :-)
Bravo!
He was near the truth all along, but he was skimming it, and the skimming took off the cream that might have saved his soul.
First!! Already love it ..even before listening.
Thrilling, even if there is no supernatural in it.
My family has a cabin on Skeleton lake...in Canada...haha
We need to see pictures!

An episode in camp? Does RuPaul have anything to do with it? John Waters?
Just kidding! 🤓
This story makes no sense.
You might want to check out Poe's 'Imp of the Perverse' - it might make more sense then.
