Thank you for the comparison video, I have both decks after recently purchasing Wild Reflections. I love them both for different reasons, yet they are so similar, which I really didn’t pick up on until watching your video.
Gosh, it feels like a blatant takeoff, but I dislike the vast majority of the faces in the Wild Reflections deck. The execution isn’t as good in Wild Reflections, with the people seeming like stickers on the backgrounds. The colors feel artificial in Wild Reflections. The numbers on the Star and Moon cards are switched (error) in Wild Reflections. I feel like the Wyspell company tried to go as close as they could to making another Lightseer’s deck. In my opinion, they failed.
Oh, thank goodness someone else said it. Here's me TRYING to put it politely and failing. I know Chris-Anne will let it pass, but my eyebrows are definitely raised. Also, the completely random and detached native and dark skinned people. Obviously, it is a futile and uninformed attempt at diversity. If someone else took your deck, and put the skulls in different places or made the tablecloth cheaper, and used Walmart yarn. Woof. Emotional. 😢
I absolutely agree with these comments. Plus...talking about ‘diversity’...why print a guidebook with white-on-black? Difficult to read and possibly inaccessible to people with visual impairment, dyslexia and other conditions?
while I never liked most of the cards in the LS and think some cards in that new one I like better, I must say I totally agree, and I find it disturbing. Usually one waits until copyright runs out, or the author passed away some time ago, or asks the original creator before copying 85 % of someone's ideas/ artwork. And then one would reference the original in the title or subtitle or so, out of respect, or at least good manners...
I haven't been drawn to Light Seers in ages but totally fell in love with Wild Reflections. It's become my new favourite - especially when doing client readings
Great video! I have both and love them both. I generally prefer Light Seers. For me, it has Air energy which speaks to my Aquarius heart. Wild Reflections gives me more Earth energy. **Judgement in WR is one of my favorites. She is looking directly into my eyes and I get the sense that she really sees me - faults and all - and offers her love unconditionally. She invites me to look within, even when it’s difficult, and reassures me that there is hope for a better future. She’s almost giving psychic guide or mentor vibes.
I loved the comparison. I had to smile had how many cards I felt the opposite of yours. This was a really cool video. They are REALLY similar. As someone else mentioned, I did get reminded of the Sufi Tarot a bit as well. Overall, I was underwhelmed by the quality of the figures in a lot of the Wild Reflections cards. Was also not impressed by details like the font and its placement. Just felt too blatantly copying.
Hope you do this often- great fun. Only differed about 15 times. Think you put two cards in "wrong" piles but they canceled themselves out- one from each. The funny thing was I got an Amazon suggestion for this deck and thought that's interesting must look for a walk through then the next thing is your video pops up with this !!!!! Maybe our minds are being read more than we know🐃 Bull, Bison, Buffalo? Or Kangaroo 😂😂😂
at the start of video and last week i saw a comparison between light seers ans unfolding path where they chose their fave from all three. I just have the light seers mini. So will now enjoy watching the resf of your video
I thought the Devil being underwater was a nod to illusions, as water can make things look quite different. If he was to walk the earth he might look quite different. My opinion, no gatekeeping 💝
Fabulous video, thank you. In the Wild Reflections tarot the Star and Moon are wrongly numbered. I will still have to get it, though, as it is beautiful
Probably showing my age now but too many of the Wild Reflections cards reminded me of those 1980s romance novel covers 😂 Emperor and Hierophant are both absolutely stunning though, they were the two that eclipsed the Light Seers ones for me.
Both are gorgeous! I definitely prefer the LS as it better represents the card meanings in my opinion. It’s strange how they are so similar. However, some of the WR cards are stunning and would also win out on the LS were I do to a comparison (I want to buy the deck simply to do just that). LS seems more water and air based whereas WR seems more earth and fire based.
Hmm...lightseers is still one of my all time favs and I felt uncomfortable at first with how similar they were, but then fell in love with some of those cards where I didn't like the LS version!! Am I tempted??? Definitely, but I am not really using my decks enough as it is at the moment..........eek.....
I love the vibrancy of the colors and backgrounds in the Wild Reflections, but there were just too many cards (and the entire suit of pentacles) that fell flat for me and were are just too many cards that didn't make sense (I'm looking at you Judgment and six of cups and your friends). That said, the aces from the other 3 suits are magnificent. This was interesting to watch. Thanks Simon. Was I the only one stressing about the couple of cards that went into the wrong piles? Thankfully they cancelled each other out!
The Light Seers is really the first tarot deck i fell in love with. Everything about it resonates with me. The Wild Reflections is a hit and miss for me. It’s good but not moving like the LS deck for me.
I have never liked the night of cups with roses x I do think it’s even on both love a little more of light seers I think it’s a difficult one 🦌 prefer faces on light seers x
🎶 If you like Piño Colada 🍸 🎶 🎵 🎶 Between the ones I couldn't decide on, because both were lovely, or I wasn't bothered by. The score was Wild Refections 27 Light Seers 29, but I would still buy Wild Reflections too.
To be honest, it's good that there are other companies that deliver a good product when it comes to mass market tarot. US games , Llewellyn and HH are the biggest one And they share a lot of profits. They are similar, yes, they are the same I don't think so. They are a good purchase option in my opinion. Thanks Simon, your videos are always interesting.
Definitely many similarities and depictions between these decks. Now I'm not a huge fan of the Light Seers ( never bought it, not even the Mass Market edition), this deck was everywhere for a very long time, so... About the Wild reflections Tarot, there is more depth, light and the Wild Nature is everywhere. But the more pleasant thing here is that characters are completely part of the Nature, just as one. I absolutely don't have that feeling with The Light Seers Tarot. That said, both are beautiful but it's " déjà vu" for me and I'm not attracted to that kind of artwork. The cards of the Wild Reflections' " sound" when you manipulate them looks like good quality, especially for such a reasonable price. If I had to pick one, that would be the Wild Reflections Tarot, but to be very honest, I am always annoyed when a deck presents so many similarities with another one. This is a very bad point for me. Thanks for taking so much time for this comparison, and enjoy your break!🍸Lila B.
Mmmmm… some of the cards are seriously alike, and the art style is definitely similar. That said, I went along with the sorting and funny enough? I came out nearly opposite you in numbers, Simon. 23 Wild Reflections : 55 Light Seers
I'm having a hard time deciding if the Wild Reflections tarot was inspired by the Light Seers or of it was copying major aspects of the Light Seers deck. I like both decks. However, I think I would feel guilty purchasing the Wild Reflections deck. Maybe I'm reading too much into it....
I usually read only with Marseille, at least for other people. The Light Seers is actually the only RWS I really feel a deep connection with, and the Wild Reflections has not changed that. There was not one card in it that I preferred to the Light Seers. It's a decent deck, but too similar to the LS with nothing of its exceptional uniqueness... Like a cheap hamburger to a gourmet steak...
The Wild Reflection deck does not show any artist names only the company name, just wondering why wouldn't the artist get credit for creating the deck? We all know that Chris-anne is the creator of the Light Seers deck. The Wild Reflection deck definitely was inspired by Light Seers but too many cards look straight up copied to the point it lacks originality. The feeling or energy of the Wild Reflection seems a bit choppy, some are good, some are confusing and some just flat.
If you Google the deck, it was originally a kickstarter, and has all of the info about the Wyspell team etc on the campaign page 😊 the artist is called Olena 🙂
Well, I guess we have many RWS clones, and the Lightseers has become a classic…. So now we have Lightseer Clones 🧐
Because it really is!

They most certainly ripped this off with more cartoonish feel

£21 on Amazon uk, via the seller
