I was thinking of getting the Mythic Heroes deck, and now having seen your walkthrough, it’s one that I’m definetly putting on my list.

I definitely want both! I can see 'Heroes' to use as a theme of the reading and / or signifcator and 'Celestials' for the energy to work with...I love the graphic novel storytelling illustrations for clarity - and as you said a great way to learn about the myths.

I think so! Read some of the book, it’s great!

The Oracle of Celestial Deities would really complement a deck I got a couple of days ago: The Starlore Arcana, which I'm loving. The artwork, by Nitasia Roland, is based on a 1717 star atlas by John Lenthall, showing the constellations, and the associated myths in the book are mainly Greek. But Letao's deck has the planets, as well as the minor planets (asteroids) like Juno and Ceres. So that might work well together 🤔😎. Thanks for reviewing it!

P.S. Just found out that it was based, not on a star atlas, but on Lenthall's "Astronomical Playing Cards" from around 1715. Cool idea to revive them.

I'm glad to hear that you like the Starlore Arcana-- I couldn't find out much about it but decided to take a chance on it and ordered it last night!

Thank you so much for the lovely tour of these decks. The books look excellent for studying. The artwork is gorgeous. I always have a difficult time with those kinds of boxes. I enjoy your 'gen x' references, too. ;) I've had these in my wish list for a while now, and appreciate you taking the time to review them in full. The Oracle of Celestial Deities would be great for Astrology work. Using the app 'Time Passages', I see each day where the sun and moon are and use cards to set them up so I can see where they are for the day. Of course, I'd like to do this for more planets but I'd have to get up even earlier to make it to work lol. The Oracle of Mythic Heroes would be great not only to learn the myths, but as an oracle; perhaps as a clarifying card after a daily tarot draw? Interesting. Thank you again, friend.

Nice decks, Simon. The card backs of both decks are wonderful. Nice to know they are not AI decks. I don't follow Western astrology, so these decks won't work for me. I follow visible sky astrology. When I found out a few years ago that the Sun was actually in Sagittarius and not in Capricorn on December 22 the year I was born, it was all I needed to do my research into True Sidereal Astrology, and I've never looked back. 😊❤
