    I have a 706 that is leaking hydraulic fluid out of the left brake drum. Is that a sure sign or indication that the o-rings are bad? I was told by one guy that it could be a rear seal that sits inside the rear wheel section and said that the tractor would likely need to be split in two in order to replace the seal. What’s your thoughts as I don’t have the estimated 3000.00 to have a shop tear it down.

      My best advise would be to pull the brakes apart on that side and look for a failed O-ring. That is the cheap option to find your issue. Could be a simple re seal job. I would start there.

    Where did you get the new “glue on discs” ? Can’t find them anywhere

    • @RuralMidwest
      @RuralMidwest  5 месяцев назад

      What I referred to as the glue on discs was actually piston plate itself which I got from A&I. I ordered everything through my local NAPA. That disc comes pre bonded

    I appreciate the video man. Have a recommendation on the rebuild kit itself?

      I ordered my rebuild kit through my local Napa they are from A&I Products. Good stuff it all fit and works good.

      Hello again. So when I tore into my brakes the left side was missing the friction plates pads but had a fresh piston. I bought some off of a different 706. The outer cover ended up being shallower. And one of the friction disks was much thinner than what was on the right side. Not worn. Just thinner. Not having much luck finding any info. Any suggestions? One set of the parts aren't from a 706 I believe. Similar but not similar enough.

      @@SplitReins Ok, so when I did mine I ordered an entirely new piston from NAPA (a&i products) that new piston came with an already bonded friction pad on it. I believe that is what you are referring to? throughout the entire brake assembly that can be differences that is why you have self adjusting screws on the brakes to take out that play. Hopefully that is helpful. I am not a mechanic though I am just an average guy trying to make it work also lol

    Does this work for 656 ?

    • @RuralMidwest
      @RuralMidwest  10 месяцев назад +1

      I don't think so, the 656 uses dry brakes.

      @TheBreakUpMan no problem and best of luck. My brother has a 656 and he did the brakes on them said they were very simple
