      The whole arrangement is very original, what a take on a great song! Molly and band are in fine form, the drums sounding very Celtic back there, what an atmosphere!

    While Molly's current group of backing musicians, Golden Highway, is good, I think that I like this group better. Perhaps it's because the music isn't mainstream country. Of course, Molly is great in both groups.

  • @ThompaThelin

    beautiful !! a question if anybody knows ;) when she use that clawhammer style of playing, is standard standard tuning ??

    • @richiet5914
      @richiet5914 4 года назад +3

      its G modal or mountain modal tuning. Basically open G with the B string raised to C. DGDGCD

    • @johnadamson4014
      @johnadamson4014 4 года назад

      Thompa Thelin I doubt it’s a standard tuning.

    • @wolfgangritter9277
      @wolfgangritter9277 4 года назад +2

      RichieT is correct - there's a video on RUclips, where Molly explains the clawhammer technique with "Little Sadie" and she confirms the Gsus tuning DGDgcd.

    Wow, she is incredible. Can anyone tell me what time signature is this? 6/8?

    • @GunnarSalyer
      @GunnarSalyer 4 года назад

      Either 4/4 or 2/4 depending on how you count it

    • @InjuriousPersonalities
      @InjuriousPersonalities 4 года назад

      Gunnar Salyer definitely not

    • @GunnarSalyer
      @GunnarSalyer 4 года назад

      @@InjuriousPersonalities I play this song, and I just played along with this video, and I can tell you It's in a standard meter. It might be a crooked tune, but It's definitely either in 2 or 4

    • @InjuriousPersonalities
      @InjuriousPersonalities 4 года назад

      Gunnar Salyer listen again: the melody consists of four measures (16 beats) then a leftover three beats before it loops

    • @GunnarSalyer
      @GunnarSalyer 4 года назад +1

      @@InjuriousPersonalities that's what I meant by crooked. Several old time tunes have uneven amounts of measures, or even one or two measures in a different time signature.

    This is good, but Tony Rice's version is better. He doesn't rush it as much, and of course, he had that killer band.

      lol, it's like saying 'Doc played it better'. Yeah, everybody knows, including them. Anyway, totally different technique and she's got some years to practice still. Do agree that she rushes a little sometimes.
