Thing is these VXRs are still really really fun to drive! Might not keep up with the RS3/A45 crowd but honestly it will always put a smile on your face! And thats what people forget these days, the fun of driving !
Use to have a astra vxr loved it one of the best sounding 4pot engines with a double de-cat corba exhaust
If anyones ever done padwork you will realise it's a lot harder and draining than it looks
i think everyones different... where your muscles are anchored to the bone really plays apart in speed and trainability.. for instance..people with higher bicep inserts tend to be faster same with calves people with longer lower inserts are usually more torquey but much slower and takes more to train fast twitch muscles.

Pick one of these up now for around 2.5k - 3k not the berg version! My m8 got a Blue one, good fun but a money pit at the moment. He does have adjustable coil overs etc on it though and spends 1000s on it.

God I miss my MK5 VXR! Found myself looking at them again recently. I remember the first time I clapped eyes on a 'Burg. It was the demonstrater from the local dealership and had the optional diamond-cut 19's. The colour on the barrels and flanks of the spokes was an almost exact match for the chequer graphics. It looked absolutely incredible, I can still see it driving past now. The Z20 and C20 Vauxhall engines have a very distinctive tone and I'm a big fan of it. Lovely car.

@@thurmanmerman9099 yeah in some cases. I put just shy of 60k on mine and the gearbox was still sweet and all original when I sold it.
Mad cause they all came with the 18 inch ats wheels, unless the dealership had put the awful 19s on
@@joemoorcroft6150 I've seen a few with the 19s on since. I honestly preferred them to the 18s. Imagine keeping a white multi-spoke wheel clean 🤣

I have a vxr and people always say the gear box torque steer the lot and I put ps4s on the car and and it barely torque steers plus my box is sound plus I service every 5k people just give them stick 🤷♂️
Same had mine over two years never missed a beat all service done every 6months ppl just rag the shit out of them without doing the maintenance
Get some "roadwork" done in the mornings (or skipping). That will really bump up your fitness! Loads of boxing roadwork programs on the net. Hard to drag yourself out to start with, but you'll soon get used to it ;-)

I loved mine but had to get rid of it due to fuel costs and uncurable oil leak from somewhere (we never found out what it was in the end)
haha i own one tbf they are shit on fuel but there way better than people say.
@@M1.942 yeah mine was a 2010 and apart from the oil leak, nothing actually broke. All it needed was cam belt
It shredded a front tyre once but that was my fault lol

id never own a mk5 astra vxr, as much as they are cool cars, the interior is just dreadful, the seats are nice i guess but the dreaded m32 box justs taints them
