Fact is, anyone who has lived an adult life or observed it during childhood, KNOWS that Domestic Violence goes BOTH WAYS! I know I have witnessed it whereas my good male friend was disrespected and treated horribly, left one marriage, got into another that was just as bad, then eventually DIED from the MENTAL/EMOTIONAL ABUSE! Interesting fact is that his mother suffered greatly while he was a child & died, & he made up in his heart that he would NEVER mistreat a woman, the way his mom was mistreated, and he too suffered in the end, as she did, HOW FREAKING SAD & HEARTBREAKING!

Also every ones saying what it means for woman, I actually think we are focusing on the wrong thing her ..... i am a woman and i %100 will speak up for woman rights if i feel they are being discounted but i dont think they are in this case. but there is a different fine lineing and positive effect this case will have ... I would think this is actually a win for men who suffer from DV who are often not believed simply based on their gender its encouraging them to come forward to speak up no longer having to hold there heads in shame because society has a messed up view that men shouldn't be victims because it makes them "babys". they say less men suffer however my personal belief is that less men speak up and come forward (which would mean statistics will be very inaccurate you see this inequality and inaccurate statistics with mental illness for example due to shame placed on one or the other gender when they suffer an illness labled as the opposite genders illness for example; eating disorders (girls) and autisim (boys) even though we now know both genders suffer from these but they are often mis diagnosed or diagnoses is based on out dated studies that gender labeled illneses) as culturally it's seen as weak for a man there is shame put on them etc. end of the day gender dose not exclude any one from being a victim. they hit it on the nail when they siad DV has no gender it's time to start basing our decision on each individual story not by just one person's story every ones is different. domestic violence although not considered a mental illness is still based on old out dated studies that has only caused the gender divide to grow rather than bring them together.

When I walked away from my 7 1/2 year marriage I fled with my two daughters and the clothes on my back. I also payed for my lawyer who was quite surprised since when I asked him to represent me I didn't have a job! My first paycheck I used to pay him and he told me even though he was worried about how I would fare with my two very young children he felt proud of the fact I proved him wrong. He went on to remarry and ended putting her in the hospital on more than one occasion.

How true. Lawyers have been making this claim in highly publicized trials long before internet. Yet Amber's lawyers didn't seem to mind all the press they got and were getting till the trial fell apart. The press was on her side since she had tmz show up at her restraining order hearing and they all are still on her side(except FOX). If there were no cameras in the court no one would no the truth.

Since both JD and AH were parties in this case they weren’t restricted from social media. It’s ridiculous.

The cloths copying was as ridiculous as it was sick. It shows how women feel they can get away with anything when dealing with men cause the courts (at least divorce and child) are completely on their side. As is the government and the media. She didn't feel she had to prove anything or work at being on the stand and that she could openly mock the court and Johnny in front of the jury. That says a lot about the double standard men have to deal with.

Elaine's a shit show. She contradicts herself and is NOT the person I would ever want speaking on my behalf IMHO!
      4 points:
      1. Elaine claims she had 'overwhelming evidence' proving AHs case, then also 'not enough evidence' because of the UK trial?? Pick a lane, Elaine...😵‍💫
      2. SHE didn't win the UK trial. AMBER didn't win the UK trial. The Sun did. It's not apples to apples. Amber was a witness, not a defendant so a lot of evidence that she should have provided (her texts, her recordings proving she's a hardcore abuser) didn't have to be put into discovery/evidence. Elaine should be careful what she says AND be careful what she asks for! 🙀
      3. To blame the jury for searching social media during the 2 week break is such a joke! Amber was an acting witness during the break and NOT allowed to search social media OR confer with her lawyers, yet she came back with rebuttals on every little thing that was being said about her online!!! 😵 That's some pot and kettle shit if you ask me.
      4. Mainstream media is a big problem here. You can tell who watched the case and who didn't based on what they report. Amber lost her own case by claiming ridiculous assault! If she didn't lie and exaggerate so much, she may have had a fair shot, but she was demolished! No question about it! And 99.5% of people who actually watched sides with Johnny! Fan or not!
Bonus: Ben Chew's legal team is top notch. Professional AF and worth every penny. Such a contrast between both sides. They refuse to stoop to Amber's teams level and the world respects them for it! 💕

They made the same claim before internet. They could have read the papers watched the news or talk to people who did. If you watched a significant amount of the trial it would be easy to see why the verdict was what it was. I'm sure Johnny's side was not allowed to present all their evidence. There are legal reasons why. And you're right about them seeing this persuasive evidence. Elaine's strategy is play to the liberal media and hope to get judges that can't define what a woman is on the appeal.

Amber’s lawyer is right! There was pertinent evidence that was excluded. Because, had the jury been allowed to hear the audio where she admits to Jerry Judge that SHE started a physical fight, severed JD’s finger tip; where she is stomping the floor in heels with NO CONCERN for her cut 🦶🏻🙄; and she is crying because she doesn’t want to leave Johnny’s side as she claims he needs her; that evidence alone would have helped the jury return a verdict in 2 seconds in Johnny’s favor.
Had that evidence been allowed the jury would have determined that all of Amber’s claims are a proven hoax and Waldman’s claims would have been found legitimate as yo who she is.

My sister was recently a juror on a murder trial. She came home and watched no news, followed no social media and the family did not ask her questions. We all knew how it works and greatly respected that! I am stunned that Heard’s lawyer is stating that, and again, with no evidence. I heard she was considered a good lawyer. She came across as one of the low level, ambulance chasing lawyers. She should have controlled her questioning better, she wasted precious time, she should have grilled Amber in the beginning better so she could fight for her as well as coached and recoached Amber how to behave in the courtroom. Pretending to right notes and pass blank sheets of paper to her lawyers was stupid. She didn’t realize we know how to zoom in to her supposed note taking? I won’t even start on her paid “expert” witnesses. OMG! Didn’t Elaine even interview them?

Had the jury known about the UK trial, they would have also known that:
UK Judge’s son works for the owner of the paper that was being sued!!! And is friends with Elon Musk who was her boyfriend at the time and her now baby daddy. And his wife was friends with Amber’s UK trial Attny. So that trial made it clear how easy it is to buy their trial courts.
In the US, a judge with those personal connections to the defendant would recused himself for obvious reasons which rendered a UK court decision blatantly flouting fairness, impartiality, justice and integrity.
Not good for Amber at the end of the day. Amber was lucky that evidence was suppressed.

I myself have been on a long case in court its not fun, but we all swore not to read papers or research evidence online and certainly do not watch new programs as they might mention the case. Respect for the process, and for the Court. This is so important. I'm glad to see that in this case, as in many others, this still holds true. We may be living in the age of social media, and the age of "situation ethics" (no ethics at all, in my view), but we sell ourselves short,
by assuming that everyone can be easily corrupted. The concept of right and wrong, although under attack, is still embedded in our common traditions, in both the U.K. and the U.S. If ever those boundaries are breached in a substantial way, our civilization will rapidly
    fall apart.

2 points: 1) when I was a child my mom was in a horrible car accident where someone ran into her and she hit the person in front of her. It was the hit and run. Three of her ribs were broken, etc. She spent days in the hospital only to come home and later find police at the door at 3:00 in the morning notifying her she was being sued by the person she hit. Thankfully their insurance company settled the case but she's told me that she's never endured such an intense amount of stress. The person she hit had irreparable physical damage. Even though it was not my mom's fault she felt an immense amount of guilt. The woman couldn't and wouldn't speak to my mother. When the case was settled, a lot of that lifted.
    2) What I see is such a intense sharp contrast between Amber's lawyer Elaine going around and essentially blaming everyone else and not taking any responsibility for her client and where she may have gone wrong and Johnny's lawyers essentially staying classy, not throwing out insults and just speaking factually and logically. These are professional lawyers.

Still highlights to me how scary the UK court system can be. Without going into great detail something so similar happened at a case I was witness to. The jury was abandoned on the day before it started on the day and the trial adjourned to bring in a particular corrupt judge (a judge who's been publicly reprimanded by the British legal system in national newspapers for being corrupt with cases of this particular nature). Not only did I and others witness a viscous assault, it was filmed and presented in court. The aggressor was found NOT GUILTY despite the barrister jumping in to remind the judge that it was caught on film after he'd made his decision. The victim was utterly destroyed and witnesses left completely disgusted to be living with a clearly bent legal system. Just horrible. If that had been me that had been in the victims shoes I would have dedicated my life to bring that bent judge down.

Those of us who listened to the trial, came out with the SAME CONCLUSION/VERDICT that the Jury came too! In my eyes, all whom watched was also PART of that Jury, although we NOT appointed as one of the Jurors, but 95% of us came to the same verdict!
Many of us was not that familiar with Mr. Depp, other than he is an actor, but after listening to the trial and the evidence permitted, this is what made me become a SUPPORTER, because I felt the harm and humiliation he suffered from all the LIES this evil and selfish person made up and leaked to the media on him!

BBBarrister - you are brilliant. I studied law in 1965-68 and I’ve kept up a working interest where necessary for my business, and with regard to Land Law. I followed the detailed process of evidence in the Depp v Heard case, and I’m following your comments as each point arises subsequent to the verdict. Your explanations of the differences between English Law and the law of the Courts in Virginia are great and really interesting. Thanks - I find it hugely interesting and I find your observations so good.
    Regards & Respect

I always thought that the UK judgement was incompetent, so I'm glad that this US verdict had made it obvious.
It certainly brings into question the quality of British justice which I have long though of as second rate - the judiciary seems to be free to rely on their own political bias in coming to a conclusion.

While the UK judgement was disappointing, and well deserves to be reviewed (not least the potential partiality of the judge), as BBB stated it was a completely different beast: different defendant, different disclosure, no jury. Let's face it, it was AH who was one of her own worst enemies in Virginia, and she didn't get to do that in the UK.

I'm just an ordinary Joe who, many years ago, won an appeal in the High Court against a judgement made against me at a local magistrates' court. It was a piffling matter, as compared to what Johnny Depp faced in his UK trial, but that makes it all the more vital that he's granted an appeal in the UK as soon as possible. Quite amusingly, looking back on my own case, I'd thought to myself at the time, 'How can this judge even come to a decision, he looks to me as if he's half asleep !' Frankly, I was amazed at his summing up, he'd missed absolutely nothing, and furthermore I felt like bursting into song at his castigation of the magistrates who'd unlawfully tried to make an example of my young self for their own aggrandisement. We all know the type, funny handshake egotistical planks !

Don't know if I'd appeal now if I was Johnny. With the majority of the media seemingly employed by the feminist movement. It is hard to imagine anything coming out in the trial making him look any better, but any and every little thing will be twisted and turned against him. They are even saying his act of defense is a form of abuse against Amber and all victims. I guess in our society all men who have a bad go of it in marriage are just supposed to shoot themselves in the head for the betterment of all women. Plus I don't see the UK allowing an American actor win a lawsuit against one of their papers. Do you?

💯 agree. In my case when I wish to really focus on what's being said, l like to close my eyes from all visual distractions and hone in on the words. If closing my eyes will appear rude, l will zone out on everything else. I will do this once I have gained an overall sense of the visuals involved. For a juror l believe this is a great tactic as there are so many visual distractions in court, that you can miss the words. Another way of doing this is to write down as much as you can of everything you hear. We all have different ways we use to focus in. As a teacher l have often found that a student who is not looking at me continuous has retained more. A teacher's face, mannerisms, and clothing can be distracting. Unfortunate these students are usually accused of daydreaming. It's very easy to quickly find out if that's the case, and usually they have an underlying mental health issue, or it's been one of those days, when I have not been engaging enough.

Amber Heard said she was not a perfect human being, it seems that is just a virtue signal compared with the denial even to her own behaviour in court vs Depp being candor of his issues. Which I think were made worse around Heard.
The difference in the Lawyers are huge, one team act like professionals, organised, direct, prepared, dignified in the media (Depps) the other like sore losers (Heard's) without dignity, lack of respect for the judge, the jury and evidence given, attempting to cast doubt and offend DV victims, many who are angered by Ms Heard.

I mean can’t say I can expect much from a team who was willing to falsify evidence to get their win. Like how rottenborn photoshopped Johnny’s picture to make it look like he got bruised from headbutting amber and also misrepresented texts that were written to him, as ones he wrote. They’re pretty awful people I’d have to say

Very well spoken by Ben and Camille. Elaine was doing what a lot of the MeToo lot do, claiming "there is tons of evidence!" But they never show it, never release it, but after a court case, that doesn't work. In court, you bring all of your evidence to the table, and the only evidence that is thrown out is either blatantly false or entirely irrelevant. Any evidence that would have "changed the outcome" that was "suppressed" was probably falsified on AH's side. Good thing she doesn't have the money to file the appeal. Let her deal with the consequences of her actions.
