I've been trying to get into the Percy Jackson fandom for a while but I never knew where to start. If you even see this comment I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get into this fandom
I’m going with my own order: 1) Percy Jackson (I own the books when they first came out) 2) Heroes of Olympus 3) The Trials of Apollo Mostly because I’m getting some of the books at the library during the pandemic. Once I’m done I’m going to read: 4) Magnus Chase 5) The Kane Chronicles Mostly because I’m into Greek/Roman mythology and eager to go straight into the Apollo series. I know you have your own order but I’m so into wanting to finish the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, and The Trials of Apollo that I can’t just stop and change series. I was 2 chapters into Twilight before realizing I’m library had the Heroes of Olympus and totally stopped before getting into chapter 3.
I have read all the the books of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson chronicles and also the companion books. If I am not wrong there are 32 books in total. Way better than the Harry Potter series! Thx for this video!
I grew up reading PJO and have just finished Tower of Nero. I can't wait to go back and reread them all, it's been so long since I even dipped into the Kane Chronicles!
@@juliam_x What do you mean, read the Magnus Chase trilogy? Cos I’d recommend doing so. Or read the MC novella after the trilogy? Cos I’d recommend reading the novella too, but only after you’ve finished the trilogy. I hope that helps!
I'm planning to read the all the percy jackson books, together with the other books in the same world next year!! So so excited, this will come in handy for sure . Ty❤️
Yooo thank you for this because I’m behind on the series as a whole and I was hearing that they all tie into each other and need to be read in specific ways, especially with trials of Apollo and magnus chase. Thank you!
hi i really love your channel. i finished percy jackson and heroes of olympus and im halfway through trials of apollo and your videos are really helpful and entertaining. thank you!
Have you read the companion books for all of the series? I'd love an "all the companion books ranked" type of video. (Or if you haven't read them yet a reading vlog)
Oh my gosh, thank you soooo much! Last year I read Percy Jackson series, and I LOVED it! It’s series even got a place on my top shelf on my bookshelf! (The top shelf holds all my favorite books!) But that prophecy at the end made me think “hmmm is there another book??” So I looked it up and then I was like HOLY MOTHER OF PERCABETH, THERES SOOO MANY BOOKS! So I bought Trials of Apallo, and I read like, the first chapter and then I was like “what the heck I understand nothing ;-;” so I looked this up and omg this has been so helpful!
Thank you for making this video I have just finished the Percy Jackson series and found out their were like four more and got overwhelmed. my book shelf is going to be filled with all five by the end of the year. I'm still figuring out how to fit the books back into the box though.
I'm currently rereading the whole universe all over again (well, listening to the audio books for the fifth time in 6 years or so) and I decided to go in the following order: 1. Percy Jackson 2. Kane Chronicles 3. Heroes of Olympus 4. Crossover Shorts 5. Magnus Chase 6. Trials of Apollo 7. Greek Gods and Heroes For first-time readers I would recommend either the order above or to go by publication order. The in-story chronological order is too confusing to use the first time. My personal order when discovering the books was 1. Percy Jackson 2. Heroes of Olympus (except the fifth because it wasn't released yet) 3. Kane Chronicles 4. Waiting for the next book to release
I personally LOVE the Magnus Chase series, because it's based on the mythology that I've grown up learning about (I'm from Denmark) I think it's really fun to see a spin on the stories I've known since I was younger.
My reading order (not including all companion stories, chronologically in the story, spoilers for ToN): Percy Jackson 1-5 Heroes Olympus 1 Kane Chronicles 1-3 (I see the majority of this trilogy taking place while Leo is trying to make the Argo 2, but keep in mind it's been a long time since I've reread Kane Chronicles) Heroes of Olympus 2-5 Kane Chronicles/Heroes of Olympus short stories (mentions the different HoO characters in the short stories) Magnus Chase 1 Trials of Apollo 1 Magnus Chase 2 Trials of Apollo 2-4 Magnus Chase 3 (spoilers for ToN, but this and ToN happen at roughly the same time based on the fact that Percy and Annabeth find out about Jason when they get to Camp Jupiter for college, and Annabeth mentions that she and Percy aren't in the best place at the end of Magnus Chase 3, not to mention that they help train Magnus, presumably, before they go to college.) Trials of Apollo 5 (honestly, you could flip Magnus Chase 3 and this if you really want to, but there's a bunch of references in this book that you would need to read the other books to understand, not to mention that Apollo goes on a trip to say goodbye to everyone, so it serves as a nice conclusion.)
i never read any of his books besides the PJO and HOO series so im watching this to know what to read while i reread these series and i am so excited now :)
My First Adventure Book. I'm on the 2nd season now HOO-Lost Hero. I'm 28 btw. yeah I know it's a kid book but I started reading book as a habit when the quarantine started in our country. I'll buy Trials of Apollo next before finishing HOO.
I read them like this: Percy Jackson and The Olympians Heroes of Olympus Trials of Apollo Kane Chronicles Magnus Chase and then the little side books (like demigod files) sprinkled inbetween the main ones
awwww!!! i didn´t know your chanel before. i think youtube recomended it now because I uploaded a video talking about percy Jackson and the order to read this serie the last week. AWWWWW I NEED THAT SHIRT I love your channel... u´re amazing😍😍😍😍
I just ordered paper back the original series and hardcover heroes of Olympus off Amazon, it was like 80$ for all 10, but I just got back into the series Bc I had to do a random report for a needed extra credit high school class lol. I used to read a lot in elementary school and after like 5-6 years(for me) it still holds up. I can’t help but be glued to them when I get the motivation to read even one page, which can be challenging but if I get over that I realize I accidentally read a lot more than I needed too.
I’ve already read it all, but I’m on a break from work. So what I decided I was going to do to stay home is re-read all of the books in the Percy-verse. I think my favourite might be the house of hades. So iconic!!
I like your order except for one thing. I think you should read the Kane Chronicles after the first Percy Jackson series. They mention some events from the 5th book in them. Also any crossovers are with Annabeth and Percy at the ages they are at the end of the first series. I personally read the Magnus Chase books and Trials of Apollo books as they came out, and I think that was good. The Trials of Apollo don’t read quite as quickly or easily as the other Percy Jackson series’s so to have a break between them with a Magnus Chase book is refreshing. Started the Tower of Nero....can’t wait to see how things end!
Fun Unesessary story: a couple years ago i picked up the Lost hero from my bookshelf to do a reading report for my mom which i had to do every week with a brand new book, I was seriously expecting me not to be interested by this in any way at all because back then i only read fairy tales and drama, but then i read it and fell in LOVE with it because ive always been a Greek Geek, and then i saw "percy Jackson" and i was like "that name is familiar..." and then i realized it was the hit series, and i was like: shoot im starting this with the sequal oh no.. despite that i read until mark of Athena because i didnt know i had the whole Percy Jackson set waiting for me- then i spotted it one day and i felt stupid, and so i postponed heroes of olympus to start from the very beginning. the great thing abotu Ricks writing is that even if you read the sequal first you can kind of grab hold of the plot before that without reading the ast books (not suggesting you read HOO first tho! i deffo suggest reading PJO first-)
i actually read the almost opposite order of what you suggested : - the kane chronicles - percy jackson and the olympians - heroes of olympus - trials of apollo (books 1 & 2) - magnus chase - toa (books 3-5) it didn't really spoil anything for me tbh, but the order you recommended would probably be the best way to read them if someone wanted to read without missing all the subtle references to his other series in all the books
Personally I read them in a completely different order and it seems like everyone else is telling I should have read it another way. But I had no problems with it so far. 1) Percy Jackson and the Olympians 2) Hero’s of Olympus 3) the Percy Jackson short stories 4) Trials of Apollo 5) Kane Chronicles I’m planning on reading the Kane Chronicles x Percy Jackson crossover short stories next, and then Magnus Chase.
everytime I watch a video of yours, I want to read all the Rick Riordan's books 😂 thank you so much for this video! I've only read the original series, but I can't wait to keep going 💕
I first started reading these books back in 2009. I'd constantly check these books out from the school library. The hardest book to get my hands on was The Titans Curse for some reason. It was the last one for me to read in the PJO series and is probably my least favorite. I don't feel like I was missing too much from not reading it. The best book in the entire series is still The Last Olympian. Next would be Mark of Athena and House of Hades.
Image Rick Riordan doing a massive crossover with all of his characters.....that would be amazing and so cool to read!
He did one with percy jackson and Kane chronicles it was amazing!
Its coming my friend. He had another kane chronicle cameo in the last TOA book.

Omg yayyyy you updated! U look so beautiful today btw! I really want to start the series within the next 2 weeks. I have to buy the books because my library isn’t open 😭 (I’m a sixth grader who loves your book channel) but anyways hope u are doing well, from a local reader girl.
With Magnus and Apollo, I'd recommend ToA 1, MC 1 and 2, ToA 2-4, MC 3, then ToA 5
I’m so happy I found this cause I wanna reread the books soon. Also, love the shirt!
I actually read Kane chronicles before anything’s else and it was my first series from rock riordan
I'm on the Apollo trials now its so insanely interesting to see these characters grow and continue there lives through so many books, 14 books in and im still hooked
I've been trying to get into the Percy Jackson fandom for a while but I never knew where to start. If you even see this comment I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get into this fandom
Have you read them yet? I’m excited to hear which book you’re on if you’ve started! Definitely a fun ride, especially Heroes of Olympus!
@@amandabanana4460 I read the first one (I'm kinda a slow reader)
Ahh I just looked up how to read all of his books so this came at a perfect time!!!!
I couldn’t get into Percy Jackson because I was older when I started it. If that’s you too, I highly recommend the audiobooks! They are fantastic!
I’m going with my own order:
1) Percy Jackson (I own the books when they first came out)
2) Heroes of Olympus
3) The Trials of Apollo
Mostly because I’m getting some of the books at the library during the pandemic.
Once I’m done I’m going to read:
4) Magnus Chase
5) The Kane Chronicles
Mostly because I’m into Greek/Roman mythology and eager to go straight into the Apollo series.
Did you read the 9 from the nine worlds from the Magnus Chase?
@@juliam_x Yeah I did! Still wanted more. 😂
@@becklebooks Do you think you have to read it for the series to be over or can I skip reading it?
@@juliam_x What do you mean, read the Magnus Chase trilogy? Cos I’d recommend doing so. Or read the MC novella after the trilogy? Cos I’d recommend reading the novella too, but only after you’ve finished the trilogy. I hope that helps!
I wanted you to make an update! Thank you so much!
I'm planning to read the all the percy jackson books, together with the other books in the same world next year!! So so excited, this will come in handy for sure . Ty❤️
I reading lost hero and it very good
Thank you so much! I'm trying to start reading this series but I had no idea where to start. All I had was the House of Hades book.
I'm almost don't w the tower of nero!! thanks for this ashley
Yooo thank you for this because I’m behind on the series as a whole and I was hearing that they all tie into each other and need to be read in specific ways, especially with trials of Apollo and magnus chase. Thank you!
Yeahahahahahaha! The original video is my favorite vid of yours!!! So glad you are doing an updated version!!!!
hi i really love your channel. i finished percy jackson and heroes of olympus and im halfway through trials of apollo and your videos are really helpful and entertaining. thank you!
OMG. I so love the whole series. Just done reading it on the other day.
I am only just reading Percy Jackson 1🤣🤣
Love your videos and I will definitely be using this video to tell me which book to go to next😉😁
Have you read the companion books for all of the series? I'd love an "all the companion books ranked" type of video. (Or if you haven't read them yet a reading vlog)
I've been needing to read these for years, so this video is very much needed
Love your videos ☺️
Very grateful for this video.
I love Rick Riordan's books and I also love his channel! Great content!
can i pls get a link to his channel?
Me seeing this after ordering the trials of apollo series but not having read magnus chase: 👁👄👁
Thank you for making this video I have just finished the Percy Jackson series and found out their were like four more and got overwhelmed. my book shelf is going to be filled with all five by the end of the year. I'm still figuring out how to fit the books back into the box though.
I'm currently rereading the whole universe all over again (well, listening to the audio books for the fifth time in 6 years or so) and I decided to go in the following order:
1. Percy Jackson
2. Kane Chronicles
3. Heroes of Olympus
4. Crossover Shorts
5. Magnus Chase
6. Trials of Apollo
7. Greek Gods and Heroes
For first-time readers I would recommend either the order above or to go by publication order. The in-story chronological order is too confusing to use the first time.
My personal order when discovering the books was
1. Percy Jackson
2. Heroes of Olympus (except the fifth because it wasn't released yet)
3. Kane Chronicles
4. Waiting for the next book to release
Ur ACCTUALLY gonna make me cry when ur talking bout trials of Apollo as an end and I found the series 2 yrs ago!
I just finished the last Trials of Apollo book, and now I'm crying
That's it. I am getting the kane chronicles in December.
I personally LOVE the Magnus Chase series, because it's based on the mythology that I've grown up learning about (I'm from Denmark)
I think it's really fun to see a spin on the stories I've known since I was younger.
In the end i was scared that you spoiler me the end of the trials of apolo, thanks for not making spoilers because im anxious of reading it XD
You should do audio books for all of Rick Riordan's books. I love the Percy Jackson books and would definitely listen to it.
Thank you so much for creating this video, I have been wanting to read more Rick Riordan but I can't seem to find out the order to read them in :)
You should do an interview with Rick Riordan haha
My reading order (not including all companion stories, chronologically in the story, spoilers for ToN):
Percy Jackson 1-5
Heroes Olympus 1
Kane Chronicles 1-3 (I see the majority of this trilogy taking place while Leo is trying to make the Argo 2, but keep in mind it's been a long time since I've reread Kane Chronicles)
Heroes of Olympus 2-5
Kane Chronicles/Heroes of Olympus short stories (mentions the different HoO characters in the short stories)
Magnus Chase 1
Trials of Apollo 1
Magnus Chase 2
Trials of Apollo 2-4
Magnus Chase 3 (spoilers for ToN, but this and ToN happen at roughly the same time based on the fact that Percy and Annabeth find out about Jason when they get to Camp Jupiter for college, and Annabeth mentions that she and Percy aren't in the best place at the end of Magnus Chase 3, not to mention that they help train Magnus, presumably, before they go to college.)
Trials of Apollo 5 (honestly, you could flip Magnus Chase 3 and this if you really want to, but there's a bunch of references in this book that you would need to read the other books to understand, not to mention that Apollo goes on a trip to say goodbye to everyone, so it serves as a nice conclusion.)
Thank you so much for this video! I'm lovingggg Rick Riordan's books! 💕
When should we read camp half blood confidential?
Right after the hidden oracle
@@flashread ok thanks
Yes, I've been waiting for this.
My favourite series is trials of apollo!!! Iam in love with apollo❤️❤️
I read it by Percy Jackson,Heroes of Olympus,Kane Chronicles,Magnus Chase , and Trials of Apollo.
i never read any of his books besides the PJO and HOO series so im watching this to know what to read while i reread these series and i am so excited now :)
I'm rereading PJO
I’ve always wanted to read the Percy jackson book series, I’ve only read the first trials of Apollo book, really liked it 😊
My First Adventure Book. I'm on the 2nd season now HOO-Lost Hero. I'm 28 btw. yeah I know it's a kid book but I started reading book as a habit when the quarantine started in our country. I'll buy Trials of Apollo next before finishing HOO.
I read them like this:
Percy Jackson and The Olympians
Heroes of Olympus
Trials of Apollo
Kane Chronicles
Magnus Chase
and then the little side books (like demigod files) sprinkled inbetween the main ones
awwww!!! i didn´t know your chanel before. i think youtube recomended it now because I uploaded a video talking about percy Jackson and the order to read this serie the last week.
AWWWWW I NEED THAT SHIRT
I love your channel... u´re amazing😍😍😍😍
I read the 1st book and gonna buy the 2nd one!!
If I like it, I will continue with the series.
Fun Unesessary story: a couple years ago i picked up the Lost hero from my bookshelf to do a reading report for my mom which i had to do every week with a brand new book, I was seriously expecting me not to be interested by this in any way at all because back then i only read fairy tales and drama, but then i read it and fell in LOVE with it because ive always been a Greek Geek, and then i saw "percy Jackson" and i was like "that name is familiar..." and then i realized it was the hit series, and i was like: shoot im starting this with the sequal oh no..
despite that i read until mark of Athena because i didnt know i had the whole Percy Jackson set waiting for me- then i spotted it one day and i felt stupid, and so i postponed heroes of olympus to start from the very beginning. the great thing abotu Ricks writing is that even if you read the sequal first you can kind of grab hold of the plot before that without reading the ast books (not suggesting you read HOO first tho! i deffo suggest reading PJO first-)
I have percy Jackson and the greek of heroes book
Should i read it first??
awww, could i read Kane chronicles after trials of Apollo?
yes,
i actually read the almost opposite order of what you suggested :
- the kane chronicles
- percy jackson and the olympians
- heroes of olympus
- trials of apollo (books 1 & 2)
- magnus chase
- toa (books 3-5)
it didn't really spoil anything for me tbh, but the order you recommended would probably be the best way to read them if someone wanted to read without missing all the subtle references to his other series in all the books
this is such a useful video loved it. you did a great job uwu
Personally I read them in a completely different order and it seems like everyone else is telling I should have read it another way. But I had no problems with it so far.
1) Percy Jackson and the Olympians
2) Hero’s of Olympus
3) the Percy Jackson short stories
4) Trials of Apollo
5) Kane Chronicles
I’m planning on reading the Kane Chronicles x Percy Jackson crossover short stories next, and then Magnus Chase.
I have read all of his books and they are all amazing so making a huge crossover would be the best idea ever
everytime I watch a video of yours, I want to read all the Rick Riordan's books 😂 thank you so much for this video! I've only read the original series, but I can't wait to keep going 💕
Thank you, this is very helpful. It was getting confusing there 😅 these book are incredible, Riordan is a genius
Plus PJO and Kane chronicles will get a series soon
I first started reading these books back in 2009. I'd constantly check these books out from the school library. The hardest book to get my hands on was The Titans Curse for some reason. It was the last one for me to read in the PJO series and is probably my least favorite. I don't feel like I was missing too much from not reading it. The best book in the entire series is still The Last Olympian. Next would be Mark of Athena and House of Hades.
I 100% recommend reading demigod files before heroes of Olympus because it explains a lot of things that happen in that series
