Joni Thank you so much I have been trying to paint a picture of the northern lights that my sister took from her house and I have never blended acrylics before and I ended up with such a mess you are so right I was completely disappointed and devastated I was ready to stop painting and at my age 60 it would have been forever I would have found something to do with my time. But your blending with acrylics has been a truly amazing gift to me I hope I can pull this off. I wish you could see this picture so you could see what I’m trying to paint I have been painting most of my life but I stopped for a while
Thanks for your comment Elizabeth, I’m happy to know that my videos are helping you with different techniques such as blending as it can be a little bit challenging and acrylics. 😊
I love these backgrounds. Sometimes I love my background so much , that I hate painting anything over it. But using these techniques, I can create backgrounds only using my favorite colors to match my decor. Thanks Joni.
So helpful! I absolutely love your tutorials. You always make it look so easy and explain it in a simple way to execute nicely! Thank you so much! God bless!
I've done all 3 types of blending but most familiar with 1st and 3rd technique. I will definitely try #2 blending using a mop brush on my next project. Thank you.
This video sat in my watch later list for a while, but I'm glad I watched it today 😍. I've painted with acrylics now for about 3 years and blending is one of those things that I still struggle with at times. Thanks so much for this video...I'm currently working on animals more than landscapes, but this makes my hands itch to do landscapes again, lol 😋. But it will work great for pet portraits or an out of focus background. I just find it hard sometimes to not have my subject randomly float on a blurred background (if the whole body is on the canvas, just a head or head/shoulders can sit against a blurry background quite well). Thanks again 💜

Thank you for your tutorials. My therapist recommended i pick up a new hobby and ive always wanted to paint. Im a graphite artist but painting has never looked good for me. I painted your blue rainy city landscape with the girl who has an umbrella and it turned out pretty decent. I gave it to my best friend.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I do not have the courage to start acrylic painting because I do not know how to blend the colours. With your very informative tutorial, I shall try painting with acrylic again. Thank you again. ❤

Loved watching this over and over! I have always struggled with blending and now I know why! Too much paint! Too many colors! Wrong Brushes! And way too wet! Basically been doing everything wrong… 😂lol. Also what is the number on that Mega Fibert Brush you used on the first canvas please?
I live in warm Queensland Australia where the paint dries as soon as it hits the canvas. I've tried plenty of water, mediums etc and working fast before it dries but it's never a happy result.

It is helpful. Alot of times my canvas dries fast and is hard to paint fast to blend like you did.
Thanks Laura, glad this was helpful 😊
These are all great! Now I need a mop brush. I have a whole big jar of brushes and not one of them is a mop.
You definitely need a few mop brushes 😚 they’re wonderful

👍👍👍
I just turn 66 years old I would love to learn how to paint like that
Just start! It comes with doing!❤
🤩
Do you start with a dry brush to apply the paint to the canvas for the blending techniques you demonstrated?
❤🙏
Thank you! Your tutorials are very helpful. What size mop brush are you using and brand?
1 inch but you can use any size you like 😊
Thank you for this! I am looking to switch to acrylics for awhile and wonder what brand you like using?
Thanks! I use Holbein and Liquitex
Yes ..do you Gesso and do I have to use canvas ??
Gesso is optional and you can paint on anything 😉
I have a question about the mop brush which brand are using?
Just an off brand makeup brush 😉

Wowza! That’s a big one!
Also I’m so happy that you are feeling better! Vertigo is horrible!
I’ll be back thank you😊

But definitely some great teachings on techniques and blending
Do you gesso?
Sometimes, this canvas came pre primed😉

I thought I had to use water on my brush !!
It is too dry for that pink/blue blending to work where I live . 😢
Try a fine misting spray bottle 😉
