I think this technology it works great for halfmoving slideshow for psychodelic storytelling or for telling fables to kids. And because still AI have some flaws and hallucinations so you cant achieve what actors can do it still fit better for telling stories with support on little moving images.

If I had to pin it on a style, it's pulp science fiction magazine covers come to life. Not 1950's science fiction movies, which were campy due to technical constraints, but if you could make the magazine covers themselves move... slightly.

CGI ruined hollywood. Even the writers are crap beause their minds are immersed in what already exists. This short video has at least 2 or 3 ideas that could be extrapolated into entire films. And WOW.. does this look cooler than CGI by a factor of 10.000 or what. If this is a 9/10 then even the best CGI is a 1/10.
@@stoneneils - yup! for the last couple months i wondered about the link between AI and CGI textures... in some AI images one can sorta see the subtle guiding influence of sampling CGI textures... but! in some AI images i've recently generated of say a riverbank near a canoe... looking at the riverbank grass trying to see if i can see "texels" of any kind, and i can't see any at all! the complexity is off the charts! it is a very wonderful blend of the ultra-high-rez of photos with the human world of CGI textures and texels... and yep i think you are totally right, it is a level of complexity that CGI textures can never match. :p traditional non-associative CGI has been left in the dust i believe :p

As the director Tarkovsky said "The people do not see, they only look." However it has some genuine creepy quality to me watching the blunt looks with which AI creatures stare back at the audience.
I worked in the props department for this back in '66, we were under the tutelage of prop master Djorak Berginson, a practical fx genius way before his time. I still have a few of these costumes I bring out on Halloween to give my grandkids nightmares

I think... its kind of a new form of media... our minds fill in a LOT of the gaps here. I feel like motion comic is a bit too dismissive. Depending on the edit, there IS a certain skill involved. Visual short story feels more appropriate
Totally agree ... ai isn't all that! Glitchy and weird in it's own way but it won't replace real film makers and casts... I'm a musician with a home studio an ai songs are funny and all but they really don't compare to those who compose and have real life passion.

There is no doubt that this is a visual masterpiece. I think what really sells it is the expressions of the 'actors' - no human actor could wear outfits like that without giving a wink and a nod to the audience that they know they look ridiculous.

Everyone is chatting normally but there's this tension as if something gruesome will happen, but it doesn't and the music helps creating that eerie feeling
I wonder how far off we are from having scenes like these that play out smoothly and the characters and camera can effectively play out directions given from a prompt. Once you get to that point you would be able to make actual movies, short films or whatever. Based on what I've seen from Sora and Kling, that should happen in the next 5-10 years.

The game with the homunculus and the chimeras. I feel like I've been transported back to the laboratory of Vicent Price or Jerry Goldsmith in "The Fly". A bit of chemistry and genetics, the atmosphere of "Swamp" or the classic "The Thing"...the trips to these zoos are funny, which reminds me a lot of Saint-Exupéry but also "Bloob" and "Gloom". . Little Frankenstein lurks within you too!
Wow! Some scary, some silly 50s-looking aliens. And that girl is BEAUTIFUL! The organ music hints at maybe an even earlier than 50s setting. Everyone is chatting normally but there's this tension as if something gruesome will happen, but it doesn't and the music helps creating that eerie feeling

CGI is finished. This looks so much more realistic for fantasy films.
I wonder how far off we are from having scenes like these that play out smoothly and the characters and camera can effectively play out directions given from a prompt. Once you get to that point you would be able to make actual movies, short films or whatever. Based on what I've seen from Sora and Kling, that should happen in the next 5-10 years.

The game with the homunculus and the chimeras. I feel like I've been transported back to the laboratory of Vicent Price or Jerry Goldsmith in "The Fly". A bit of chemistry and genetics, the atmosphere of "Swamp" or the classic "The Thing"...the trips to these zoos are funny, which reminds me a lot of Saint-Exupéry but also "Bloob" and "Gloom". . Little Frankenstein lurks within you too!

What an intriguing movie. I like the bubble gum scenes where everyone was chewing bubble gums. The story line was fantastic.
