I had the good fortune of listening to a lecture she gave at the Mitchell Library here in Glasgow, Scotland, and meeting with her afterwards. She IS one of THE LOVLIEST people you could EVER meet and has MOST DEFINITELY NOT let fortune and fame go to her head!!!!! When I think of how she was bullied when she was at White Lodge it makes me cheer her success all the more due to the fact that I know that the speed at which she rose the ranks will REALLY EXPLETIVE her tormentors RIGHT OFF!!!!!!!!!
Love Darcey!! ❤ Each video clip shows exactly why she was such a beloved dancer with a solid technique, sparkling personality and wonderful stage presence. Thank you. This was perfect!!#❤❤💕💕
She became a principal at 19yrs old! In a ballet created for her with Johnny Cope. I saw her live a few times- onstage she shone like no other. The pas de deux from "Prince of the Pagodas", was just beautiful. The Royal Ballet does tend to concentrate a little less on speed and just movement, with more focus on storytelling. Especially the ones by Kenneth MacMillan, with the underlying violence and dark themes.
I’m getting my punches next year in 2023 and right now it’s 2022 I’m getting it at age 13 and right now I am 11 turning 12 in September, The third dance that she did was part of our show and little kids did it.
Богиня. Самые красивые балетные ноги. Это та самая техника ,которую не замечаешь,она для балерины только инструмент чтобы материально через движения показать саму музыку.
Not bad, has the average ballet skill performance and match well with the music melody, but not outstanding if compares to most Russian trained ballerinas from her time till now. Perhaps, this video did not cover most her life time 80 performances before retired, or perhaps her English style ballet skill requirement looks much easier than Russian style that I mostly familiar with.
She definitely isn't average, the way she dance really is outstanding and her technique is perfect. Vaganova is not only ballet method, or the right one. Darcey was and still is one of my favourite despite I'm vaganova dancer.
She does it do flawlessly. Makes it look so easy, when it's the fruit of years of hardship and tireless work.
Not only an INCREDIBLE dancer but a lovely woman 💖💖💖💐
And an amazing teacher as well!
I saw her at the Royal Ballet School in Twickenham many years back and yes she is lovely, I had autograph signed.
She is an exceptional dancer, her movements are flawless.
Every move transitions so beautifully into the next. Such a talented dancer

Of all the ballerinas I've seen...she is my favorite.
Lookup Lopatkina. She will blow you away. Zacharova as well
Ballet is amazing. So much dedication and training. To do all that en point is incredible to me.

Even the other 3 judges look on in awe as they stand up for her at the end......
Ah, Darcey, the one ballerina I knew as author before as dancer (:
Nice to see this compilation!
So many dancers are perfect acrobats. She is perfect in acrobatics and dance
I loved her in Strictly Come Dancing, I miss her being on the show she was a great judge
Beautiful arms, legs, feet. Gorgeous lines and expressive artistry.
Just divine!
Quelle grâce, quelle légèreté, quelle beauté, quelle sensualité, quelle musicalité !
Le féminin absolu ❤️
Darcy is the both most perfect ballet lines i have ever seen , she reminds me of margot fontane 2 beautiful and exquisite ballet dancers 😊
Such control from the top down, no wonder she's so good. Her arms nail it every time!
Amazing!! I simply love her! 🥰
¡¡¡Qué maravilla!!!👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful dancer 🤩💐
Yep! She was tall and OH so pretty! One of the memorable indeed!
Una delle ballerine più brave della storia!
Hola desde Argentina. Que línea. Maravillosa bailarina
Beautiful legs, feet, arms, perfect line! Gorgeous dancer!
Just lovely 👏👏👏🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

Her and Sylvie Guliem
I was going to comment the same thing!! Both were my favs growing up!!!
Yes!! Masters
Che bravaaaaaa!!! 👏💓 eccellente!
Fantástico.
Fantastic video!!! 🥇
Too bad amazing dancers have to retire, they should be preserved as great pieces of art, and dance forever
Darcy has brilliance
When I was a child I always thought Margot Fonteyn would go on forever!
She has a waxwork as Aurora at Madame Tussards in London. It's fun and strange to see them both side by side in a photoshoot!

Stupenda , magnifica , bellissima
one if the best of the best . no question tremendouslly gifted
I want to be like you. My dream is ballerina. Your dance is amazing. I love you Darcey Busell 💕(My daughter told me)
Just Beautiful 🙂
What are the excerpts at 1:24, 2:35 and 3:39 which are also repeated. I have identified the other ballets. Thank you.
They are respectively from "Cinderella", "Prince of Pagodas" and "Sylvia" 😊
Darcy actually started dancing at 13!
Darcey started ballet at a young age. She only entered the Royal Ballet School at 13, which was later than some of her classmates.

She is my best friend's aunt.
Nice video:-) Do you know, how tall was/is she?
5ft 6ins I believe
5 ft 7 1/2 or 171.5 cm
Darceys superpower is her leg extensions. A beautiful strong dancer.
👏👏👏👏👏🙌🕊💝💝💫💫💫💫
I love this dancer❤ she looks like a ballerina not a gymnast.
How long can their feet take that punishment......
what was the first variation?
Such. Control.
The only think I wish Darcy was better at was her por de bra technique. She tends to flop her wrists too often.
Nah its messing with us

Yeah, probably the English style. It is a shame Russian ballet cannot acknowledge anything other than themselves.
@@kathymyers7279 Yes they are so up their own. Most just technique, and no style, but lots of mannerisms.
Also she s not a dancing stick-a la Russians. And beautful musicality.
This is ballet not gymnastics. You are definitely not an expert if you think this is average. What a dumb comment.
She definitely isn't average, the way she dance really is outstanding and her technique is perfect.
Vaganova is not only ballet method,
or the right one. Darcey was and still is one of my favourite despite I'm vaganova dancer.
Technically she's very gifted. The physical capacity and the training can't be ignored but it comes off as clunky at best.
her movements feel really dense and plain
Quite plain. I agree though I still like to watch her.
I read magic ballerina 🩰 her books so I searched her up
