But you see a black screen as that was going on here; perhaps the production truck messed up and didn’t put the live camera in the sequence? Nope! The matchup graphic is actually a live shot of Times Square! NBC handled the NBA with love and care; here’s hoping they can do the same in their future NBA TV contract.

Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA, said that the defense was limited in order for offensive players to show more of their skills. The skills you see today wouldn't survive in that era due to the was defense was allowed to be played. Players arm barring you, manuevering your movement with hip check defense. Constantly up in you wouldn't even allow for dribble dribble dribble aka James Harden as an example without the risk of getting it stolen from you. Giannis, Lebron, Joker, as examples of players lacking the footwork to be called "skilled" players. Jordan had way more skills than Lebron. So did Kobe. Lebron is limited in skills but yet he's still dominating at 40 these so called "skilled" dribblers.

For as much criticism as Charles Smith gets for this game, Starks and Ewing both had a chance to take the shot themselves but chose to give it up instead. The game should have never been put in Smith's hands to begin with. Also, the Knicks were gifted 35 free throws and missed 14 of them. You can't throw away points when the game is that close.

Ewing actually made a heck of a pass considering he was losing the ball, and then Smith goes and ruins it with those hilariously weak scoring attempts. I remember watching that live and everyone was laughing at not only how pathetic those scoring attempts were, but the eternal distraught look he had, when he had no one to blame but himself. No way the ref is calling a foul there like he thinks they should have. Refs will not give you that with the game on the line. You gotta earn it.

The Knicks were a complete joke and disaster ... Chicago was the more physical team in this series: loose balls, trapping, rebounding, getting second shots, better interior defense, attacking the rim more, and just controlling the way 'they' play more than the Knicks controlling how 'they' play .... Chicago won this series really in game 3 because Jordan had a bad game and Chicago still won and then the Knicks were a turnover machine, and missing foul shots -- terrible. Riley never really set roles for the guys in their offense; they were so confused offensively because in '92 they had Jackson as a point guard and in '93 they had Doc Rivers; then they had Rolando Blackman on the bench in '93 and in '92 they had Gerald Wilkins but in '93 they started Starks who was a bench guy and energy guy. Gregg Anthony couldn't shoot and would hold the ball way too long while they went away from Ewing way too much while not allowing Anthony Mason to handle the ball and score in the half court - that's on Riley using Mason like a non-offensive player and he could handle, score, and finish around the rim and draw fouls. Riley even said he had Oakley on the bench way too much in '92 -- think about that. So Pat Riley was terrible and the Knicks became a choke team that could never get the job done. I mean when it takes you 7 games to eliminate the Bulls without Jordan, how bad are you?
I really really enjoy seeing the hapless mediocre uncompetent ringless player like john starks, doc rivers, greg anthony and patrick ewing thought they are belong to NBA elite. So sad. They really really didn't belong to be called an elite team.
