This is the true American bonsai, I like trees that look like trees in the wild, not green helmets. I can't believe I haven't made the drive down there but looking forward to seeing Dan and his trees.
Please keep posting about Dan, his trees are so interesting and I think that the more people know about him and his style of bonsai perhaps more of us will be inspired by him
There's without doubt a big leaning to convention in Bonsai but there's a whole lot to learn from Dan here by just making bonsai art your own way! Amazing!
Dan's most controversial view on bonsai is probably his no-repotting policy. But let's be honest it's so humid out there a tree could pratically grow bare rooted. He has definitely been doing something (incredibly) right to come up with these fabulous specimens!!!
@@BonsaiSociety The discussion was very educational and important but I think how Dan uses the dead wood is what inspired me the most. It makes me want to hop in the car, head for the mountains and do some foraging!😍
An amazing Man and a sample of a very good artist in making beautiful bonsai and a bonsai artist of all time. All the bonsai shows how patient and artistic this kind of man is. A perfect example of all the aspiring bonsai artists. May the Lord blessed u a good health every time.
@@BonsaiSociety all of it, Love the larches. I’m a new to the art,, I love to make crazy insane weird pots for my bonsai. I also feel that trees planted on rocks or In a more natural way is best I’m currently making a Black rhinoceros imitation petrified, rock pot, The tree will sit on the horn of the rhino with exposed roots to soil level. As I said at the start unusual and crazy, some would probably say crazy stupid 😂😂 But we all have are own way of expressing ourselves through our art 😂😂 Love to watch David’s channel I’ve been a follower from the very beginning of his RUclips journey and hope to learn a lot from him. Sorry if I’m not correct in thinking this is probably not David I’m speaking to as I know he now has a team to help. But please extend my kind regards, I look forward to the next video 👍👍👍👍
I grew up with the perfect climbing maple outside the back door of the house. The trunk was over 5' at its widest. An amazing feature were the 4 links of giant chain and the bolts visible in the crook of the "y" where the trunk divided into two massive co-leaders grown over like neglected wiring.
Enjoy watching your videos and you said something about how you don't like the word cute. Well, since I have been collecting mame pots for bonsia I guess I could revert to saying cool. But I'd still rather say cute. I will try to send you a picture if I can.
It is great to watch the videos but the music while they are talking is distracting and at times makes it difficult to understand what they are saying. Keep up the videos they are enjoyable
Those are the personal views of Dan. Keep in mind it is so humid in the PNW a tree could practically grow bare-rooted. We are not responsible for any loss of trees if someone decides not to repot
Filming is terrible. Too much camera on the men...instead of the trees. Awful 'highway/ sound in background, coupled wirh asinine music. Dan is good though. He deserves better footage,
The best compliment I can give Dan is that his trees looked like nobody ever styled them.............they look as natural as they would in nature.
It's always a pleasure to see Dan!!!
Thanks Nigel when are you coming for an episode on the channel !?

We will have to book another trip to the PNW!
Beautiful setting there with the misty sea in the background, does not get better than that.
