Awesome WAH PEDAL is 3 Pedals In One! - Hotone Soul Press II
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 июл 2021
- I'm getting on the Hotone train! The first effects pedal I have checked out from Hotone, this is their new Soul Press II: Wah / Volume / Expression pedal! 3 separate outputs and plenty of ways to tweak the sound make this a heavy hitting, and beautiful looking, compact Wah pedal!
What else would you like me to checkout from Hotone?

Thank you for the vid, I have been thinking of this pedal, now it is a must buy. :)
That Blue Wah Indicator looks so soothing lol 😂🙌🏻🎸
been subbed so long that I can confirm that this is at least the third time you have said "this is my new favorite wah pedal." ;)
Maybe he should have said that this is his “new, and now most favorite of all my wah pedals”. 😂
"New" favorite is the key word
Cool pedal! Awesome guitar! Great review & playing.
I just bought one of these. Been looking for a Vol/wah for a while. This will work totally for me. I also have the Hotone chorus. It’s AWESOME!!!
I'm trying to save room on my pedal board and as someone that wants a volume pedal and a wah pedal but never uses them at the same time lol this seems like the perfect invention for me I just ordered one for $85 plus tax I can't wait to try it out thanks for the demo.
I don't have a ton of experience with Hotone but I did buy their little tiny bit crusher pedal a year ago and the build quality is great and it sounds great and was very inexpensive Definitely have no problem giving them another shot with this Wah pedal
Thanks Maxx for all your vids.
Glad you like them!
I've got the captain sunset mini amp as my workshop setup and I love it! Cheap as chips super compact with a huge sound. Good gear!
Great Video as Always! And Finally' Modern Vol' Wah' Exp' Done Right ! Im Really Loving Hotone Products!🎸 🎼
Never heard of that pedal. I think it is now on the shopping list. Great demo, BTW.
I got the Hotone skyline djent and grass pedals , I love the djent distortion it add a touch of squeel to the harmonics most distortions don't..thanks for the demo
That pedal is sick!! Way cool!
Dang...Got mine last week. Definitely doing a demo this weekend now! Will be using on Behringer Echo machine, Boss DD7, Behringer Pitch shifter, and Roctron Utopia with exp in! Nails that crybaby to Morley thing...love the tweakable sweep!
Can you use this multiple pedal with a switch on the II?
Ive had the BRitwind dual amp pedal for a couple years - its just amaazing - up to 75watt - Plexi / Vox AC30 amp replicator - with reverb and boost - all in a tiny pedal. Has fx loop outs tocab/line/XLR desk with cab sim and grnd lift.
Also the Hotone Ampero Silver Edition is stunning.
I also run 12 of their older nano pedals from tuner to DigDel, OD Dist Compressor Boost Chorus Harmonizer Grphic EQ - each is tiny, solid metal, sounds great has extensive controls and take so little power they can all be run off a 9v supply - I run 12 off one pwr supply.
I have this exact guitar.. love it❤
Thanks for the review . I 'm looking to get a volume pedal this may be the one !
This is really helpful, thanks!
Oooo, I like the form factor of that, not too huge, and not too mini.
I have Via’s Bad Horsie 2 for awhile now. Great wah, the Hotone looks and sounds pretty good. I not a small pedal guy at all, but might check it out.
Yeah I love the lights
Whenever I squeeze my grandsons they waaaaaaaah and I can adjust their volume too. I just use more or less compression. LOL!
Lol
💪😁👆
I own a Morley Wah/Vol, love it!
great pedal, before i found this i thought, damn, why is there not a thing that does wah, volume AND expression... here it is, thanks!
That pedal sounds amazing
Cool pedal and cool guitar.
Cool ass pedal makes me wish I would of got that one , I have the classic cry baby with no mod knobs or booster and it's the big one but got the small one for more sounds and takes up less space. I was looking at the others like Kurt's or steve via but figured itd be ok with using the boost. It was a great price for the one I got yeah being on sale helps too but what's sad is this ones probably cheaper lol have to wait and see the rest of the video
GREAT VID MAX!! I have the HOTONE EKO very cool little Aalogue Echo with space button!
Been on my board for a couple years. I prefer it to the Mini TC or the Mooer delays. 25quid second hand so can´t go wrong!! Cheers From madrid
Currently running a Freeze B and a Vulcan Five O into a Line 6 stereo cab, for guitar and bass. Also have the Djent pedal. Would love to try this out with the Pitchfork for synced pitch and wah.
Awesome wah! Btw, I recently purchased a Firefly FFLPS (blue-green) guitar for my buddy's birthday. He was super happy! I wanted to thank you for your review of Firefly's guitars which gave me confidence in buying a guitar without playing it first. Anywho, if your looking for a new product review idea....perhaps the NUX MG-30. Been eyeballing this effect / modeler. Anywho, keep up the great reviews and positive vids (hard to find in todays world). Thanks again!!
Thanks Scott!
This is the first pedal I've seen from Hotone, didn't even realize they made pedals! I've been using one of their "tiny little amps" for about 6 months and like it a lot. Only 5 watts, but it's LOUD playing through a 2X12 cab that I built with 12 inch Celestion 50 watt speakers! I got their "Purple Wind" model Marshall clone amp for Christmas.
Richard, how do you think the sound of the amp you have compares to the classic Marshall sound?
@@GuitarMAXMusic I have never played through a real live Marshall, but it compares favorably to what I've heard on vinyl. The company claims that it emulates a 60's era plexi. I have the older version of this amp that was selling for around $75 before Christmas. The newer version runs about $95 and has built in cab sim. All these "tiny little amps" also have effects loops!
Ok, I'm feelin' this pedal!!...
Nice video! Great playing. I've got something similar, the Mooer Free Step. Both Chinese products and cost about the same. The Mooer doesn't have the expression pedal output but has touch pads that turn on the wah when you step on it (they get crackly on mine though).
I have a Hotone Skyline Analog Phaser pedal on my pedalboard. It's one of those dinky pedals the size of a pill bottle, but it feels like it's made of of cast steel. I'd recommend it, but unless you're planning on taking up a second life as a shoegaze/goth/vintage prog guitarist, then it's probably not up your alley. Still, it is bright purple and the big knob on it lights up when it's engaged, so there's that.
Have a bunch of the tiny Skyline series pedals as well as a number of the legacy amps. Big fan. You should definitely check out the Ampero - it's probably their top-tier product.
Hey Max Great video!
Please make a video on line 6 pod go and who is it for
Big fan bud!
Cool pedal
Would love to hear this side by side with the bad horsie... I love the Morley sounds and have been looking at this hotone one tbh
Looks good, love my Tremonti morley tho
I know this is a pedal review but I had to drop a comment about Schecter guitars. they do such a great job of giving players a lot of quality usable guitar for the money. now they do get a little over the top with their inlays sometimes, lol, but hey, nobody's perfect.
Also, check out Ampero full processor! With this pedal it's pretty much what I need 😉
Hello
If we install a 9V rechargeable battery, can we also connect the pedal to the source?
Another question: Is the battery (rechargeable type) recharged when the source is connected?
Congratulations on the videos.
Grateful for the attention
Awesome schecter too I want that one to but I will probably end up getting the sun valley super shredder with the sustainiac. Well when I can afford it , i was gonna buy it but didn't smh buyers regret.
HoTone has some good looking TINY pedals. I think it has some sister company's
i.e Audi/VW/Porsche
Valeton/Sonicake...I wish I could post a pic of these BOSS MicroClones.
Has the shielding been improved? In the first version, the Fasel coil wasn`t shielded at all. It sounded nice, but you got a lot of hum, when it was placed too close to the power supply....
Cool 🤘
Can you use tuner out to run dual amps and signals?
Cool pedal. Can I use the switch at the same time connected to the Ampero II? Do you like this one- or a FM3? I could buy either.
Hi, can i Connect the Tone press ll with 18v
I have a Question,,what if i have a PASSIVE guitar?,DOes it still fits with this active pedal??because for what i have known hotone soul press II is an active volume pedal
Can u make a review video about Line 6 spider V20 MKII amp
The pedal looks like its got just about all the key features I'm interested in, and the size looks perfect.
I hope you can answer these few questions:
1. How smooth is the volume ramp up going from silent to the volume starting to engage?
2. When the pedal is "Off" are all the status lights off? I don't like discovering the Wah is on in the background.
3. Does the sweep control work on both the Volume, and Wah modes?
4. Will the Volume and Expression work without a battery or DC power, as if it were a "Passive" pedal?
5. I noticed on Amazon that "9V Battery Power Supply (Not Incl)"
I've got an Original Cry Baby (no status light), and Ernie Ball Volume, both of which are big, and take up too much space. The Hotone looks like a good replacement for them. I also have an HX Stomp that accepts a Expression Pedal input that I could use to control any number of parameters - a big win.
Some time ago, I saw a bunch of videos for their Effects pedals. If I remember right, there was some inconsistencies in the pedal tones and some QC issues. The "Hotone Soul Press II" looks like a significant improvement in build quality, and really looks excellent. I hope they've stepped up their game and delivered a sturdy pedal that will last in this one. Thanks
If you have a Cry Baby , its transistors w an inductor circuit. This one will sound a little more hi fi w its op amps.
Any idea how long the battery lasts using the pedal?
How does this compare to the joyo that you reviewed?
I see Schecter I hit like (I know it's not the topic of the video but still)
schecter is my favorite brand right now. Harley Benton for cheaper ones.
I have that same guitar..love it!!
@@creepinonthebabes I have a Schecter and an SGR by Schecter (their cheapest models). Haven't tried a HB but for ~200 eur SGR rules.
@@kingarthur1776 I don't like Floyd bridges but hey look at that colour👀
Hey Max , how do have that hooked up to the Fender gtx ?
Check out the Hotone Ampero.
Review the Ampero please.
Does anyone know if I can hook it up to my rig as both wah and expression, and toggle between these functions?
you can use both outputs simultaneously, then its similar to the vol/wah mode, so you can have a exp/wah or exp/vol mode..
Hot-one... Hmmm!! I thought it was Ho-tone... Lol.
Bro-tones before ho-tones.
I thought he said hot-tone. Considering there is only one t🤔
The one product that Hotone makes that really peaks my interest is the xtomp pedal......I mean a normal pedal footprint that acts like a multi-effect that you control through your PC/Tablet/Phone? That's either snake oil or the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Don't act like it dont give you the urge to break out some Man in the box! Lol
Honestly I clicked on this video for that gorgeous guitar in the thumbnail! Which model is that Schecter?!
It's a stunning Sun Valley Super Shredder III.
Dearest Max, please tell us in the first minute or so if you bought it or it was provided to you by the company or a friend. You let us know at the 11:30 mark; cool.
The only improvement they could make to this pedal is if the foot switch did a three-way selection between v/w/off. This way you would have quick access to both modes, and the passive expression with the pedal off.
I notice lots of folks have Cry Babys. That's discrete transistors w an inductor coil. This has an op amp circuit emulation of that. It'll sound a little more hi fi, synthy. Check out any modern wah at your Guitar center to hear the basic difference. Its a little like a normal Humbucker vs EMG.
Thanks. I'm noticing something with the sound I couldn't place it. To me it doesn't sound as authentic.
I love that Schecter but cannot deal with that Middle pickup I tend to hit them when playing fast runs or heavy Riffs . I have a Sea Foam Green Schecter SVSS with a Tele body style and EMG 70's and its a a Shred and Metal MONSTER . Can't talk enough about the quality and affordability of Schecters which do Hard Rock and so on as well as ESP and other brands ! Without killing your Wallet ...
I hit the middle pick up aswell
True bypass?
With battery option >>> my next purchase
My cry baby has the booster and knobs to change the sound it's a mini I think g35 it something idk I'd have to look lol
I see the voltage input is centre negative so assume its China made?
97.563267% of all pedals are centre negative.
What's an expression Pedal do? I've never used one before
Yeah I figured it was for effects but still dont get it
I'm thinking it adjusts the degree of electron flow to the component it's attached to, thus altering the character of said component.
...so if you hook it up to a Hotone effect designed for it it will control the amount of fuzz, overdrive, distortion, etc or the various parameters of a Flanger, Chorus, or delay. They may allow different functions on a single pedal , basically anything there's a knob for. It varys by company. It might work w other companies too if everyone s using a standard.
Ah I see.... cool ty
👍👍👍
They do bass amp tiny heads?
Hotone nano legacy thunder bass!
wow! (pun intended 😆 )
Cool pedal....LED's have a finite life span so that kinda bothers me....I've had my Cry Baby for 30 years....no issues and I also have a compact VolWah which is OK....but good video as always..
Amazon currently unavailable after 4 days.
Bahh.... I'll see if there's a different seller or link and I'll update it if possible. Thanks for letting me know.
I have the exact same shoes and yet I still can not play like Max!
Must have the wrong socks
Could you tell me if I can hook it up to my rig as both wah and expression, and toggle between these functions?
No one reviewing this pedal, or the online manual, for that matter tell whether or not you can actually use both the wah AND the expression jacks. There doesn't seem to be a switch that allows the unit to go from wah use to expression use, so I guess you can't.
Yeah cool pedal but hopefully u can switch it with a switch
Needs a Bluetooth remote switch to control all those options! 💪
I just bought that pedal even though I suck at guitar 🤡
we gotta find out how to pronounce their name...HO-TONE? HOT-TONE? HOT-ONE?
I know... I heard a lot of different takes on it, but I just went with HOT-tone, because it more fun to say that way!
@@GuitarMAXMusic I attend weekly Hotone podcast on YT. Ari, the host states its a mashup and you have it right. Like Hot Tone. Great review. Thanks for Always being a ray of light in a sometimes dark world, my rock brother. Stay safe
HO-tone like it's speeled.
@@Gearjunkie35 Yes.
Its Hoto Ne (knee), a Korean word meaning "Good Crap "
1st
Nice job.
Luck is what I would day it!
It is too small. Why so small?
Not knocking your review of the pedal, but not once do you demonstrate the volume sweep range. Just play a chord and let it ring and ramp up the volume pedal slowly to see what the taper is like. Seems to be lost on people reviewing volume pedals.
Otherwise, great demo.
*Insert generic Kirk Hammett joke here*
You are playing too fast to undertand the effects tension mate. Not just the schreders need this pedal.
ಠ益ಠ is the company Chinese ❓
I think so! But it won't come from China when you order it.
@@GuitarMAXMusic Same as Firefly Guitar's.
Yes, I thought Korean but the website has a Chineese address.
@@terryenglish7132 lot's of stuff coming out of China, Walmart carries like 75% of items from China, even my cloth mask I bought at Old Navy is made in China.
Hello I would like to ask you
Can a black person play rock and metal?
