Thank you for this useful part 1 and part 2 videos. You mentioned about correcting clay soil with organic matter. This is exactly the issue I have in my native. I was hoping to see the "soil management" section as you mentioned in the video but could not find it. Can you send some literature around it? Thanks 🙏
Thanks you mam, I was planning to install check dams on my drain to reduce siltation of my pond, and desilt the check dam when required, it will provide me with extra soil form my land.
Namaskar super wealth of information. Thanks for answering all the questions. Appreciate your interaction with viewers. Your videos are a great practical guide to the theory taught in PDC. Sorry to hear about pesticide contamination. My teacher used to say compost put compost everywhere and put compost on clay soils. Thanks again 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you ma'am for the prompt reply, though you yourself are in the process of reducing your grain cultivation, still, an informative video on the use of and type cover crops suitable to Indian conditions, in grain farming, would be highly appreciated. 🙏🏼
Hii Ma'am U r passed from IIM BANGALORE And how still u know so much about farming and permaculture We are very inspired by u Ur videos are very helpful Ma'am I m student now When I should start for these I m also fond of this Can we call this as our hobby ?
Ma'am, can you share more on the coir liner.. Your pond area is large and what purpose do the liner serve? Also if you can share the supplier details.. Thanks very much.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, am interested on how the coir liner is held in place, I can see rocks around it but are the edges buried as well? If so about how deep? We're designing a site on slope and at first looked at pvc pond liners before watching your video but they're such an eyesore and too high cost
The coir liner is held in place with metal staples. They are shaped just like paper staplers, but are much bigger in size and are hammered into the ground every few feet.
Mam huge respect to you... I am big fan of yours... I want to know how you managed the shadow of your windbreak trees as it may fall on your neighbour's farm...please make detail actual video on windbreak tree..
The shadow of the windbreak on the East and West walls, falls on the tree line itself. Not on the neighbours farm. There should be no issue with it. But we will cover more of that in the upcoming videos on Role of TRees.
Hello mam, I have 10 acres of land it has coconut trees, arecanut trees ,300 fruit trees, and other forest trees .in that land we have big pond capacity of 1,640,000 ltrs ,water comes from hills .is that enough or do we need to make multiple ponds in different locations
What about the animal feces and sometimes human's also which goes into the pond with water flow,it is suitable for agricultural, but can we use it for our consumptions???
If you are talking about drilling a parallel bore and backfilling the aquifer, then we do not believe that it is the correct and ethical things to do. You may end up contaminating that aquifer, and cause more harm than good.
manisha mam have you tried the bio char ??? because compost is eaten within weaks and biochar stays for hundreds of years. just if you have time maybe you can experiment on your garden. just if you can search terra preta in amazon. the cow dung is used to recharge the bio charcoal and once you have that the soil is built naturally.
We are looking for land in Maharashtra away from the local rivers where the rainfall is about 1000mm annually. Can this amount of water be enough for maintaining an 5-6 acre farm the year round?
Mam i want to start butterfly park I have 1acre of land like you.. I am preparing for mba entrance this year, if i pass i will start butter fly park, a pond for turtles, fishes..
Mam, I HV 6 acares of ansistral land but we HV completely zero knowledge abt agriculture or forest, as we born n boughtup in cities. But we r v much interested t grow something . Is their any institute or university who give training n support . Pls adv

Thanks for sharing. Very good work.
Applause 👏do you encourage growing aquatic life in water bodies?
No, because our ponds dry out in peak summer.

What’s the basic planning/need of manpower needed for basic agriculture activities? How much % it would be in your overall expenditure?
Thanks Manisha Madam for sharing this info. How do you cope with overflowing water
We store it in ponds and pools

Thank you for another informative video, full of valuable and practical knowledge. Do you use cover crops in your grain farming.🙏🏼
Yes, sometimes we intermix with moon dal and dhania. But now, we are are reducing grain cultivation, as it takes too much water.
Thank you ma'am for the prompt reply, though you yourself are in the process of reducing your grain cultivation, still, an informative video on the use of and type cover crops suitable to Indian conditions, in grain farming, would be highly appreciated. 🙏🏼

Hi Manisha, Thank you for your valuable videos. What kind of water harvesting do you suggest if the land is about half an acre?
Depends on slopes and amount of rainwater. I suggest you take our course Water for every Landscape to understand Water management in detail.

Let it be broken down by the life in the water and soil.
How to manage water in the land having almost bare rock or very small layer of soil and then hard rock?
Is this land is even eligible for farming?
You start with planting trees and shrubs. Always.
