The legendary televised performance "The History of Meat Loaf", was recorded on November 26th 1993 at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida. This performance took place at the genesis of the Everything Louder World Tour, that would see the so-called "return" of Meat Loaf to the masses, performing in Europe and The Americas every month from October 1993 - December 1994, promoting the unforgettable Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell.
I'm very touched by the many tributes to the late Meat Loaf in the comments of this video, and by all means keep them coming. This performance highlights the undeniable strength of Meat Loaf both vocally and physically onstage during the middle of his vocal peak from around 1987 - 1999. As well as the many tributes to the late Jim Steinman, the ingenious writer behind this song, whose legacy will be shared also forever on this channel. As always, rest in peace to the Wagnerian epic Jim Steinman (1947--2021), and the larger than life Meat Loaf (1947-2022).
You'll be aware I've taken many of my older videos down due to a lack of quality or inconsistency but I can assure you all I've seen that this performance in this quality is far too treasured to take down, a restored version of this performance will eventually come but until then, keep enjoying this incredible part of the 74 year long Meat Loaf legacy! For Crying Out Loud, You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth, Bat Out of Hell, and others all greater songs than this hit - most people go to see action/ superhero movies but they generally aren't the 'best'. Oh shit! this brought tears to my eyes, just from the memories of attending his concerts...they were full on Rock Theatre with full sets and set changes. For those of you never getting to see him live...you did miss out on greatness...loved his music and the love he poured into his performance. Patti Russo is the female vocalist and she is amazing! You should, in your won time, read up on the whole Meatloaf history - it's a tale of overcoming adversity,, belief in ones'self, rivalries, falling out, and dis-illusion - and one of the greatest albums in the history of music that came close to never being made.
It's like watching musical theater.

I've seen him live once and he was incredible. His stage precense was out of this world. Like he was opening his chest and put hos heart on stage. Dead ringer for love, his duet with Cher is awesome too
Yes you are absolutely right 💯. Another person was saying that when he walked on stage he owned that stage and that is so true. I got to see him one time and concert it sold out the parking lot with jam-packed. When he was singing everything was quiet and when he sang I do anything for Love everyone was lighting their lighter or their phone and shining light up. There's not a dry eye in the world today we lost a legend but his music will live on for generations to come

To have one of the biggest selling albums of all time in 1976 with Bat Out Of Hell. Then not have much commercial success for a long time. Then come back 17 years later in 1993 and sell 15 million more albums with Bat Out Of Hell 2 to a whole new generation, during the height of grunge and gangsta rap is beyond comprehensible.17 years in music is multiple lifetimes. People forget about you in 3 or 4 years if you haven't done anything. This was the biggest musical comeback of all time. Not to mention sounding and looking better. Unbelievable.

hey just to let you all know just in case you didn't catch it why there was the theatrics and how powerful the emotions are in the song. In the beginning he singing and say the thing he won't do is have an affair with her aka she's involved with someone he knows. At the end when she says he'll be screwing around is because said person they both know was screwing around on her and then the I won't do that changes to he won't do the same thing to her and he won't cheat on her.
